Customer Reviews

Save your money. It lasted less than 3 weeks. It was always 5 to 10 degrees off. I set it at 68 degrees it would turn off at 72 and turn back on at 62 or 63. When I woke this morning my house was at 50 degrees. I immediately bought and installed a new one from a local retailer. I paid twice as much but it works and is within 2 degrees of how I set. That's how they're supposed to work. Save your money. It's a piece of junk.1Perfect! Exactly what I needed, when I needed it, to replace the original onboard furnace control in my 22-year-Old travel trailer. Very pleased with this attractive and affordable solution. Especially happy with its actual temperature markings instead of the useless unmarked hash marks most of them offer. It works perfectly! One of the best purchases I made all year. 5Thanks for being a great company. TroyI have an old house with a gravity furnace installed in 1922. We have had chronic thermostat problems for several years. This unit not only seems to have solved our problem, but came with detailed and VERY CLEAR instructions, including invaluable information on how to match the millivolt thermostat to the furnace. This information is very appreciated and will be helpful for years ahead. Thanks for being a great company. Troy.5Didn't Work.Have a 15 year old Millivolt Direct Vent Heater. DID NOT WORK. Directions and picture show where to place pointer to use with Millivolt system. Would not fire the heater burner. Purchased an Empire TMV thermostat. Worked perfectly. Once again, do not purchase to use on a Millivolt system.1Great replacement for older mobile homes!Perfect replacement for my old mobile home Duo-Therm gas central heating. Now I have proper functioning and no need to worry about overworking the solenoid switch on the gas control valve. I didn't even need to adjust the heat anticipator on this thermostat, it comes on perfectly as it should for just a short enough time to keep the temperature at the level I've set, this is more efficient than me having to get up and move lever to off or lower to stop the heater running, if set too low you're actually using more gas just to get it back up to a comfortable temp than it just "topping" the temp off. If need be the anticipator is adjustable but I'd go with what the instructions advise which is to hook it up as is and only adjust it if needed, you may be tempted to think it's coming on again too soon but wait until it comes on for that short time and you'll see that it's not on very long and is working as it should. This one also has a notch for holding it in the off position so that your heater will not come on like if you'll be gone during the day or an extended period of time. No worries!5It works.i like the price, I like the ease of instillation and how quick it came. But there is an internal setting for amps that is completely perplexing. You are supposed to check the one you're replacing and set it to the same setting but the old one didn't have anything about amp setting and it has everything to do with how it works and it doesn't say what the setting actually does. The thermometer on the thermostat is not the same one that is inside the thermostat. Also finding the sweet spot to set it at is a hit and miss, mostly miss either it's set that the house gets too cold before it switches on or the house gets too hot before switching off. Otherwise it does what it's supposed to do, turn the heater on and off.4Switching from the newer Round Honeywell thermostatsI was having trouble with the new round Honeywell thermostats. Honeywell's old mercury thermostats lasted forever. I have rental units and found I was having trouble with the new ones so I looked them up online to find that 25% of the raters gave the Honeywell thermostats 1 star. That is the worst rating and agrees with my experience with them. So I looked up this White Rogers thermostat and it has highly rated. I have used them with no problems so far. Now, all my units are getting this simple, but dependable thermostat. Thanks Honeywell. I am also saving money using these.5Emerson 1C20-101 Mechanical Heat Only Thermostat Replaced 50 year old mercury heat only thermostat. Works like a charm and I like that it turns completely off. The old one one so bad anything would be better. Seems to keep the temperature within a reasonable range of comfort. 4Poorly engineered. Will not buy this again. It was easy to install, but it stopped working after a month or so and I can't figure out why it worked even for that month, because the cover presses on the inner workings in such a way that it prevents an all-important connection that should end a "turn on" signal to the heater. Now all I can do is force the connection by lifting the inner workings into the right spot with my fingers. I have to leave the cover off, else it will not work at all. Not exactly how a thermostat should work or look, no?1Simple, two wire thermostat that works great Replaced a digital thermostat that stopped working after 10 years. Easy to swap out. Have an oil furnace with warm air system; this is all you need! Works great and expect it will last longer than the digital one; its screen went blank and it cost much more than this one. 5JUNK !! Stops workingThis is junk, I should have listened to the other reviews where this unit stopped working. It worked decently enough for about 3 months, then started only working sporadically and finally just stopped working altogether. I spent just a little bit more and got this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C6Q0AYM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which has been working fine.1Perfect replacement!!Before you order a new thermostat unhook the "dead" one that you think is malfunctioning. Keeping in mind that a thermostat is just a fancy on-off switch, just hold the 2 wires together and the heat appliance should start. This will confirm that it is the thermostat and not the heat appliance that is broken. But, be aware that when you do this make sure the wire to wire contact is solid and not intermittent. Why? Because in the case of my gas log, there is a time out period. If you kinda jiggle the wires and the contact breaks the heat appliance may not come back on for a specified delay period...which will screw up your assessment of whether it's your thermostat that is busted.Easy install, just use same labeled color terminals as for the dead thermostat. Works just fine as a replacement thermostat for my 18 year old gas log stove. The main draw was that the product info clearly stated that it was a replacement for the specific thermostat model that I have. So I knew for certain that it should work.5Easy to installI took my old thermostat off the wall and installed this one with two wires. Red went to (R) and White went to (W). simple install. i turned it up and the heater cam on. Turned it down and the heater went off. I didn't notice at first but the off location is all the way to the left. It has to click into position or you just put the setting all the way down and the heater will come on below 60. My mistake. just an FYI.5
