    my dog and I both hate itThis alarm clock only worked for about eight months. It was super loud when it worked, but now it just makes a meek little sound, like there's a thousand trapped souls inside trying to escape (quietly). When it worked, it was so loud that one of my dogs hated it so much that as soon as it went off, she started barking to be let into the backyard while I was trying to snooze peacefully (because if you come out of a deep sleep too quickly, you get the bends).Also, the snooze feature is all wrong. This clock snoozes in increments of FOUR minutes! You can't change it. Alarm clocks are supposed to snooze in increments of NINE minutes! Not four, nine. That's according to the U.S. Constitution, international law, the Bible, the Koran, NASCAR rules and regulations and all other controlling legal authorities.So this clock didn't work for me at all.1LOUD Snooze Alarm ClockMy wife needed a really loud alarm (she sleeps through mine and anything else we have). On low, she emphatically said it was loud enough. Note that this clock ONLY works as a Snooze alarm: You MUST turn the alarm off then on again to stop the snooze and use it the next day. The Snooze button ONLY activates the Snooze function - it cannot be set to turn the alarm off. If you are okay with this and need a piercing alarm I would recommend it. My wife's schedule varies so she always needs to turn it off, which makes it REALLY annoying when she forgets for Saturday morning.4The BEST alarm clock ever!I bought this the first time in 1998. It lasted me 20 years and is still actually keeping time. The problem with it, after going through a teenager, being dropped, being crushed, cracking the face, moving across country, etc., was the buttons wore out. I couldn't change the time or set the alarm anymore. It was still keeping time but it had to be replaced. I took a chance to see if the Banshee was still available and I found it! I ordered it! It's here! It works! I look forward to another 20 years with the BEST alarm clock ever! -Mrs. Jeff from the West-5temporary alarm clock, not for home use.the Westclox 47547 worked fantastic...for about a week. i expected 3 AAA batteries and a 9v to last a little longer. i bought this for my son who is 14, and can't seem to get out of bed. so i put this on his dresser opposite his bed. it woke him up fine, and he liked the cool color on the display, and the time was fairly accurate, it was easy to set. it worked GREAT! for 6 days. and died. not worth the investment in batteries. maybe if it worked a month or two before the batteries died...but not a week. i can definitely see this for a 2 day or 3 day trip, keeping it in the 'shave kit' or duffel bag.2Alarm lasting time is too shortPros: small size and easy operate.Cons: Alarm is loud and changing faster pattern it is great! HOWEVER, it's short only lasting about 1 minute... for someone not easy wake up... it is not working, and the alarm won't be come back to ring again... even it's not be turn off.The digital window will not light out automatically. in the dark you cannot see the time... even cannot find where is the clock, because it don't have a light indicated.2Alarm Does Not WorkThe clock did not alarm. It tells time, but the alarm did not go off. The clock face in the alarm mode shows PM, but it show AL for the non-PM time. What does AL mean? I would expect to see AM for morning, not AL. If it means AM, then the clock did not alarm as set.1Simple and Loud I am a very sound sleeper. I have had three active alarms at my bed for years, but I had begun to sleep through all three. When I read the blurb and reviews for the Westclox Banshee I decided to take a chance. I added it to the mix as the fourth alarm, and I haven't slept through it yet. It is small and light--it would make a very effective travel alarm--and it lives up to the specs--loud, loud, LOUD! I would compare it to an air raid siren, a very close air raid siren. Its good that it will automatically go off when you dont need it but bad when you sleep through the first alarm and needs to wake up.1
