Customer Reviews

Best screwdrivers I've used to date I've been using these as my go-to screwdriver set for 3 months now and I have to say that I'm impressed. I've taken advantage of all of these chiseldrivers and haven't found any faults yet. The grip is superb...offering more (and more comfortable) torque than any of the competitors. The steel end cap and extra-durable tips work for in-a-pinch situations where you need a chisel. I've even used the hex bolsters a few times, which has been convenient.I also have sets of Craftsman acetate-handle screwdrivers, Klein cushion-grip screwdrivers and Felo Ergonics, and these Wera Chiseldrivers win hands down. The Craftsman's are well...ok. The Klein's are better, but their tips tend to wear down relatively quickly and the Felo's, while quite soft and comfortable, don't hold up well over time and the tips have twisted. The Felo's also don't offer as much torque as the Wera's do.I'll be using these for years to come plan on purchasing the rest of the sizes offered.Update: In the past few years, I've also tried out Wiha 30295 Screwdriver Set, Slotted and Phillips, 5 Piece,SK Hand Tool 86320 SureGrip Combination Screwdriver Set, Green, 6 Piece,Williams 100P-8MD 8-Piece Premium Mixed Screwdriver Set and Stanley Proto J1208SC Duratek Combination Screwdriver Set, 8-Piece (what can I say...I have a bit of a screwdriver obsession) and these Wera Chiseldrivers are still my favorites. The tips have held up remarkably for the past 3 years of heavy use. 5Probably the best screwdriver you can getI have had these a year now. Probably the best screwdriver you can get, barring preferences for grip size and style. I am not a big fan of the Wera color scheme, but they are easy to spot on a bench. The anti-roll handle works only for slight slopes but still a good idea. Good quality stuff usually looks better (to me) after a few years and these are no exception. If you need to beat them with a hammer while using it is not the slightest problem, very stable and efficient, like they were itching to be whacked. The handle grip stays effective even when filthy, and for my hands shape is excellent. I have a lot of screwdrivers, but I will usually reach past them to get one of these.5You get what you pay forI've had many sets of big box brand screwdrivers over the years. I have also noticed that the Phillips head drivers wear out over time, and often become a source of damage to the fasteners. Upon looking into "high quality" drivers, I read about Wera and ultimately decided to try these because they are branded as the toughest in their line.So far I've been very pleased with the fit, finish, and durability of the drivers. The rack that comes with it is cheesy, but works well on a pegboard with some screws. The ergonomics are excellent too -- certainly better than the usual hexagon plastic shape.Time will tell if they hold up. I will report back if they are anything less than excellent.5Great set, beware there's no #3 Phillips, and the green kraftform set has some other featuresThese screwdrivers are fantastic, good quality molding and little plastic flash. The hexes are nice to have on the drivers (though a little more size consistency between the hexes would be excellent). I do miss that Wera doesn't do their LaserTip engraving on these screwdrivers perhaps because these are intended for chiseling, they needed to use a softer alloy on the tips that doesn't take as well to laser engraving. Additionally, these don't have the marking of what size they are on the top because of the impact cap. It would've been nice if Wera would've engraved the tops with the size/type of the driver, since that's a feature of their other Kraftform drivers, but it's not awful (just a little worse in comparison with the "regular" Kraftform drivers).I'd probably choose this chiseldriver set for automotive work on older cars where things may be stuck/stripped, but the green kraftform set for work around the house, or on electronics, because of the lasertips and the take it easy toolfinder system.I deducted a star because this set only has 5 screwdrivers, but it's clearly "meant" to include the #3 Phillips driver. You can purchase that separately (for $17), filling out the rack of 6, but also significantly increasing the price of the set. The #3 driver even fits inside the box for the set, so they definitely failed to include it for cost reasons. The green Wera Kraftform driver set is the same way six slots in the rack, four flathead drivers and two phillips, no #3. I could probably do with fewer flathead drivers, but I guess the flat drivers are cheaper, so that's why they're included.4Very good, but not the bestThese are excellent drivers, solid feel in the hand and solid build. The ergonomics of the grip are nice as well, although I prefer the comparable grip of the Felo slightly more. I do, however, own the entire series of 900, 300, and VDE Wera drivers as well as several other Wera tools. The fit in the fastener is excellent. Two disappointments are the rubberized handle material and the striking caps. The rubber overmolding is susceptible to attack from solvents and oils and therefore not suitable for industrial use. However, for clean work or woodworking they are fine. The striking caps, while solid, have all begun to rust within a few months of use. This may ultimately weaken the striking ability.I own and use all brands of premium European screwdrivers: Wera, Wiha, Felo, Hazet, and Stahlwille. While very nice striking drivers, I would recommend the handle ergonomics Felo 550 instead of the Wera 900. The Felo 550 strike cap seems to be of similar iron (not stainless) composition, and may be susceptible to similar corrosion, although mine have not demonstrated this yet. If this is a concern, the slightly less ergonomic HAZET 810U with stainless strike cap may be ideal.4MacGyver's screwdriversI can't yet evaluate them as screwdrivers (I'm sure they're fine), but I can attest to their chiseling quality! I participate in amateur rally events and sometimes, emergency repairs have to be made. When my bumper cover ripped half off the rear of my car, one of these was perfect for "drilling" a hole in the plastic bumper, and then punching a hole through my trunk's sheet metal. A few fasteners later, I was back in the races!Get these if you don't want to haul around a full set of chisels and punches, or if you have no clue what life will throw at you. They're excellent tools for improvising.5Built for everything you're "not supposed" to do with a screwdriver...I bought my first set of these screwdrivers at a tool store in Frankfurt about 10 years ago. I've used and abused them like crazy, and while they show some wear (and LOTS of grease), they're still going strong.Wera builds tools to be able to handle the abuse you're not supposed to give them, and these are no exception; The steel goes all the way through the handle and has a steel cap so you can hammer on them, and they have a large hex collar so you can use a box wrench to get more leverage. The tips are well cut and strong; they don't slip easily and I have yet to break one.I have many screwdrivers, but if I could only keep one set these would be the ones.5Good quality Good quality product. The shaft doesnt come out of the plastic handle so tou cannot really hit it with a hammer. The upper part of the shaft is nit round, but hexagonal, making it possible to use a wrench. The tip is magetized, I only uused one of them so I don't if they all are. A bit expensive so I hope they are better then the Craftsman set I already own. Only use them once. Time will tell. 4Screwdrivers, pry bars AND chiselsAll in one. If, like me, all you've owned are a mix of crappy, soft screwdrivers that bend or chip easily or the nearly-as-bad old Craftsman screwdrivers that hold up well but are miserable on your hands, then these will be one of the best tool purchases you'll ever make. They're outstanding screwdrivers with wonderful, ergonomic handles. And then they striking caps for you to beat on the ends. And hex bolsters so you can add a wrench for greater torque when turning. And seriously hardened shafts so that when you poke and prod and do all the things you aren't supposed to do with a screwdriver, they survive intact. It's always wonderful when your pessimistic everything-is-junk attitude gets proven wrong. These are good for that.5great driversthey are so pretty it was hard to grab them with dirty hands for the first couple of times. but these are sturdy and will stand up to hard use, or borderline abuse...depends on how you use them, especially the standard size flat driver. mine has held up well so far, and the plastic holder is nice too if you have a place to hang it. it does not fit well inside of a drawer in my roll away, so i have it on a nearby wall...where it holds my cheaper drivers that i am less concerned about. one thing about having nice tools like this, they have a way of disappearing without a trace, so be sure your box has good locks.5The best...hands DOWN!?!WOW, these things are built VERY well. I have used them now for 9 months, used and abused the heck out of them. The major application they were used for was prying and chiseling. I actually used the larger flat head to chip out some brick and concrete (crazy right?). Truth be told, the one I used for chipping concrete did in fact chip the head. I was able to get a replacement no questions asked (contacted support and had to pay a meager postage from Germany...I think 3.28 they required).Anyhow, these drivers are built really well and can't wait for the next project. The pro's are:- Built well- Comfortable- Strong tips- DurableCon's:- Price...but not really. You have to pay for quality. All in all I would recommend these fine drivers for anyone that is looking for a durable set. For a home DIYer, these would last a lifetime.5I loved the handle though so i looked at what else ...I had originally bought the Wera Lasertip set of screwdrivers. I knew deep down that this was a mistake as I use my screwdrivers daily and suspected that the laser etching would wear out. I was not wrong. They lost their grip. I loved the handle though so i looked at what else wera had to offer and found these screwdrivers. I gotta say I really enjoy them. They hold screws just as well as the "lasertip" ones prior to them losing their etching. I also like the hexagonal design on the shaft and have even used it to my advantage on at least one occasion. I don't know what this "black tip" is all about. It seems like they just painted the tip black? Maybe I'm wrong. The screws hold fast to the driver and they haven't worn so that's what matters. I guess they are on the heavier side since the shaft passes through the whole handle. I have a habit of carrying too many tools in my bag but I am a sucker for these screwdrivers. Guess a few more ounces won't hurt.5
