Customer Reviews

Both like them, both are still intact and we're about ... I got these for both of my high school kids. Both like them, both are still intact and we're about halfway through the semester now. I say this because most of the time they lose or break theirs by now. The chain is handy since it reminds them that the drive is there, my daughter says she wraps hers around her wrist until class is over. This prevents her from forgetting it in a machine. My son has his attached to his keys, so he can't really forget it with his keys lying right in front of him. The dog tag part helps protect the thumbdrive when it's in a backpack, neither of them actually wears the dog tag part. I just wanted something on some sort of leash so we'd get a bit further. Neither has any trouble accessing their files between computers pc/apple, or any of that. Both take graphic design classes, and engineering courses, so these hold a lot of data so far. Normally I'm being asked to provide another drive, usually because the drive is bogged down and slow, not because it's full. 4It likes the abuse. Being able to have a thumb drive with me at all times appeals to me security conscious nature. It has a encrypted volume on it, and a "InCaseOfEmergency.txt" file. It rides like a normal dog tag with tag silencers, so I hardly notice it.I am notorious unforgiving when it comes to my gear. I destroy watches, rings, anything that is attached to my body. This has held up. I shower with it. Go to the field with it. Run. Workout. I have even bounced the barbell off it during bench press. It still works. For something like this, you can't ask more than that. 5Pretty good for the price I just got this today so I haven't fully tested it out yet. So far the usb seems water tight, I save a picture to it and than put the whole flash drive (chain and all) into a glass that i filled with water; I left it to sit for about 10 minutes and then pulled it out and removed the usb part and it looked/felt dry, when I plugged the usb back into my laptop, it loaded right away and picture was still there. The only part I don't like is how loose feeling the usb feels when its placed back into the back of the dog tag, it almost feels like it could pop out. The good thing though about the usb is that it connects to the chain so if it comes loose from the dog tag, it won't be lost. The chain looks/feels strong and is pretty long, I was able to rap it around my neck twice and still have a little room to feel like I was wearing a choker. All in all, this is a good usb for the price and for the fact that you can wear it. I've looked at many usbs that are necklaces and they were so ugly/gaudy that I almost gave up on getting a wearable one. I was so happy to find this one. 3A Great Device for Carry Around Storage... I use this as a medical alert device, keeping a copy of my medical records available. I'd like the stick to stick a bit better in the aperture made for it on the tag...but it's a cool idea/device for lotsa carry-around storage space. 4Excellent device. Super durable I won't claim it's 'water proof' because I don't believe it is, but I have taken mine swimming in salt and fresh water and it's never missed a beat (I wear it on a sterling silver ball chain). I have purchased 2 of these and about to purchase my third (keep one as a spare and I lost my last one). I don't write many reviews, but this is such a good product for the money, I decided to take the time to do so. Highly recommend. 5Does the job Easy to use. I had no problem using the usb stick. It works nicely back into the slot on the dog tag. After wearing the dog tag for 24 hours the usb stick has not popped out od its slot and you barely know the tag us there. Worth the piece if mind. 5neat idea . . . I like this a lot. The actual USB dirve is very small, about 1/2 the size (or even smaller) of other thumb-drives I have purchased and used. It fits well in the dog-tag look-alike holder and I wear it along with my REAL dog-tags (courtesy of Uncle Sam) around my neck. The chain seems to be painted as the aluminum color is wearing off and a light pink is starting to show through, so I think I will look for a real GI style bead chain here on Amazon, just for grins. Oh, it seems to store data just fine. 5Nice form factor, not so nice to use. These drives do not perform well. Both of the ones I received run at 2MB/s write, 16MB/s read - That's about a third of the write speed that you would expect of even the cheapest flash drive, and it shows in use. Portable versions of Firefox, Pale Moon, and Chromium lock up regularly even with all caching disabled. It just took close to half an hour to create an Ubuntu live USB.I've also noticed the unfortunate tendency for these little guys to not make solid contact with the USB port. My desktop and work laptop are fine with them so far, but the laptop I'm writing this review from has a 50/50 chance of either drive showing up at all when plugged in.I had good hopes, I really did, but I can't recommend this flash drive. 2Awesome Buy I loaded the files on it and put it on my dogtag chain. I have taken showers with it on the chain and as soon as I got out of the shower I plugged it in to the computer and it worked just like a dry one. 5Excellent design, excellent purchase, very satisfied I was in the market for a good quality flash drive, as well as one that would be less obtrusive (I'm a spy at heart, what can I say?) and this one fits the bill perfectly. The transfer rate for the data is VERY good, and the drive itself is securely fastened to the dog tag by the same chain that passes through the tag itself. Unless you inspected it closely (the "Verbatim" on the front might be a giveaway) there would be no way to know that you were carrying a flash drive, The drive is able to easily be detached from the back of the tag and can be plugged into a USB port while still attached to the tag and chain, with no noticeable pressure being put on the drive itself. I have tested it on a USB port on my Dell computer, a USB hub, and the port in my minivan, and have had no problems. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an easy way to carry a drive with them, In my case, having bought the 16 GB drive, the amount of data I can carry with me is a plus as well. For those who have medical conditions and/or allergies (such as myself, who is epileptic) it also provides a way to carry essential emergency medical information on you in the event that you are in an accident and unable to respond. (There are many "instructions" websites that can be found that have varying ways on how this can be done and how to alert EMTs how to access the information and know it is there.)All in all, a purchase I would recommend highly. 5
