Customer Reviews

Product discription is misleading on the size. Says it ... Product discription is misleading on the size. Says it will fit Men waist size 30"-36". My waist is 32" and it will not fit. Very misleading and Amazon won't give me a refund. Not right. 1Nice but.... It's a great quality belt, made well, good material, but the big problem I had is that the belt just loves to slide up your body with the the slightest movement, even if I put it deathly tight around my waist and bend down half way it'll slide all the way up to my ribs, it doesnt stay in place very well at all, and these belts are made to be worn over clothes which i know is why is half the problem but with other belts in the past like Rogue they didnt budge, this one like to slide up your torso even if you sneeze too hard. 3Excellent Weightlifting Belt I purchased this product on November 21, 2014 for powerlifting initially and later switched to olympic weightlifting to protect my back. If you are unfamiliar with weightlifting belts, the purpose is to give you something to push against as you contract your abdominal and back muscles while doing a Valsalva maneuver (breath holding). Without doing the muscle contraction, breath holding, and maintaining an extended back at all times, the belt will not protect your back. The belt is very comfortable, light weight, and holds up to multiple trips through the washing machine (haven't put it in the dryer). I recommend this to others. 5A small would've also fit me but the medium pulled tight is perfect. I love that it is not as tall ... This is exactly what I needed for my heavy lifting days. I'm 5'3" and 125lbs and I purchased a medium. A small would've also fit me but the medium pulled tight is perfect. I love that it is not as tall and I am able to move easily in it while I'm breaking in between sets. I have increased my personal record on deadlifting since purchasing it! 5Awesome belt, buy it. This is an excellent belt. The abdomen and low back support is ideal for deadlift and squat (and cleans, jerks, other Olympic lifts - not sure what else you'd really want a belt for). I dare say, support is as good as many other leather lifting belts. Some live and breathe leather, I don't see any benefit personally. And the comfort factor of this belt far outweighs a brand new leather belt that requires breaking in.As far as sizing goes I went based on a previous review entitled "some info on the sizing" and that didn't work for me. I buy jeans from express/gap with a size 34 waist and the Large was WAY too large. Bearing that in mind, I haven't actually measured my waist, but the medium fits me perfectly. Also, I think this bears stating - a weight belt is not and should not be a crutch to lift ridiculous amounts of weight. Leave your ego at the door. Some people read articles that say lift heavy, well "Heavy" doesn't necessarily mean a lot of weight. you can achieve "heavy" through volume at an appropriate weight and preserve the health of your joints (as well as avoiding strains and tears). Squatting 225x12 with perfect form is going to feel heavier and do way more for your muscles than 315x3 when you have to compromise form. 5Some info on the sizing Looks like some of the reviewers are having a meltdown over this belt's sizing. First off, it is a great belt. I got a size Large, tried it on and it fits me perfect. I have a 34 inch waist. If you want to get this belt, I would recommend the following:1. Measure your waist. Do NOT use your jeans size. Jeans are vanity sized, and chances are that you are a bigger porker than you realize, so measure your actual waist. Personally, I wear size 31 jeans, and I have a 34 waist.2. Add another inch to account for clothing. You will wear this belt over, not under, your clothes.3. So when all is said: 34 in. waist, plus 1 in. for clothing, put me at 35 in. I went right to Large, and the belt fits. If your final measurement is 34 inches or greater, go with Large. If it is 33 inches or less, go with Medium. If you need a Small, you are probably a woman or a hobbit. 5Watch Out - Non-returnable! I have owned a size medium US made Valeo back belt for nearly fifteen years. It is my constant companion anytime I'm working. It has worn exceptionally well. I didn't think twice about ordering again. I checked the size chart and read the reviews that advised to be careful with sizing. Since my existing medium fit fine and I was within the size chart for medium I ordered another medium. Surprise, when it arrived and it was too short to fasten the velcro strap. I laid my existing medium belt against the new belt with the plastic hoops in line with each other and the strap on the new belt is at least 4" shorter than my old belt.I tried a return hoping there was no way it would be declined on something brand new with the tags in tact. Of course, the return request was declined. Shame on me. I took the chance feeling confident that the size would be acceptable. Shame on Valeo (or your retailer) for not accepting a return (or what would have been an exchange) for a product in new condition. Good job Valeo! You turned a long time satisfied customer into a unhappy, single star reviewer based on your no return policy and inconsistent sizing. 1Middle of the road belt for the not-so-serious lifter Purchased this belt 8 years ago now....the hook and loop wore out on it, but it took some years to get there. It provided a little support, but wasn't useful once I got into really lifting heavy. Overall, if you are a light lifter, or just looking for something to give you support without restriction, this may be for you. If you want to do some heavy lifting, or you are bigger guy/girl, get a heavier duty leather or fabric belt right from the start. I tried to use this to get used to lifting with a belt and the feeling between this and an actual lifting belt is night and day. 3great belt, nice low profile, wont get in the way with olympic lifts, really good price and value Very inexpensive and good value (that was half the reason I chose this!). I only use a belt when I want to work near my max or hit a PR for squats, deadlifts, and olympic lifts. I don't like lever belts or really any of those super thick leather powerlifting belts. I wanted something very low profile that a barbell won't get caught on when olympic lifting. A friend recommended this to me. I am very happy with it, it's comfortable, I appreciate the adjustability with the velcro (one more reason I didn't want the classic powerlifting type of belt--I feel like I'd never get the exact right fit with the holes). 5LARGE box, for such a small item! HAD NOooo idea wat da hell I ordered that justified the size, it's like 3ft in length & the belt when folded is ~1.5ft that could easily fit in a shoe box, bazaar that Amazon would choose such a size, it's not even a fragile item. DESPITE THIS- 4" belt is great for women w/ short torsos, such as myself. The sizing was correct to, I measured belly line. I tried the Scheik 4 3/4", didn't like it, hella stiff, good for ppl who do heavy wgts though. This is good enough for me for support, I don't lift heavy. 5
