Customer Reviews

Good valueout of the box worked exactly as advertised ,Good Audio Quality low nopise on the Phono Side!5Transferring Vinyl to Digital? This is the phono amp for you.The TC-753LC Phono pre-amp is an excellent purchase for those of you wanting to transfer your vinyl record collection to digital (MP3, WMA, etc)or just as a pre-amp for phono to stereo setup. If you are using a standard turntable (with no built-in pre-amp, which is the norm)you need to amplify the output of that turntable.Just plug the RCA phono outputs of your turntable (the red and white cables)into the inputs of this pre-amp and plug the pre-amp output into your sound card. You will usually need a splitter cable that has the red/white RCA plugs on one end (from the pre-amp)and a single mini-jack on the other (to your sound card. This cable is very common and is quite inexpensive. Now you've jacked up the output of your turntable so your computer sound card can actually record the volume at a realistic level.Using whatever audio conversion software you have chosen to create your final recorded product (Spin It Again, Audacity, etc)you can nowconvert to your heart's content. The TC-753LC also has a level knob to control the output volume of your turntable (very useful) and a switch to allow changing from phono to an auxiliary source.I've recorded literally hundreds of my vinyl records to digital with this setup (also using a mini FBQ Graphic Equalizer from Amazon between the pre-amp and sound card to fine tune the sound, but that's another story). With its small footprint, ease of operation and reliable frequency response this is a very good buy. Whether you are an experienced turntable user or a novice, this is the pre-amp for you.5This little machine rocksSo I have a turntable with a built in pre amp never quit sounded correct, hooked this baby up and bam I'm in heaven it made my turntable rock!!Buy it.5Vary pleased.Does what it's supposed to. The volume difference is amazing. I have it set on 5 out of 10 with the Sony receiver. Crystal clear, sounds like it was meant to. Bass levels are low but overall the highs mids and lows just blend perfectly...hooked up to a 7.1 surround system. Sony receiver, infinity speakers 7.1, Stanton record player...5Great ProductThis preamp works fine for my application with a MMC turntable cartridge and pass-through for a tuner.5Good For Transferral Of Vinyl And Cassettes To CDI transfer a lot of vinyl and/or cassettes to CD and I was looking to replace a less expensive Pyle preamp as I felt the "humming" that accompanied its use was perhaps a little more intrusive on the recordings than I would like. I have had this Tec preamp for a few weeks and it does give off a hum during the recording process but it does seem a little less intrusive than the previous preamp I was using. This unit is very simple to set up and operate with one caveat; there is no on/off button or switch which initially proved inconvenient as I had to rearrange my audio recording set up in my man cave to accommodate having to have direct access to my power strip to plug this unit in and unplug it after use. When transferring vinyl or cassettes the volume knob on the unit will have to be turned up to pretty much full blast but other than that it is a small unit that does its job well. The lack of power on/off switch made me have to give it four rather than five stars.4Good Product For the Price! The product works well with my headphone setup. I needed to raise my turntable frequency to line level, so this seemed to be a great deal and so far it has been. The problem is that there is no on/off switch on the device, which is fine for me, but might be a burden to those who do not have the same situation. It is also a smaller device than I thought, since I was expecting a mini amp size product. If you have a weak amp/receiver/or cartridge/needle on the turntables, DO NOT buy this, because you will have to raise your gain to high levels leading to a lot of hiss.Pro's1) Great value2) Solid structure3) Raised vinyl's to line level4) Extra AUX inputs to add your mp3 or CD playerCon's1) Small device2) Should be used with a powerful amp/receiver and or needle/cartridge (higher than average equipment) to avoid hiss.3) No On/Off switch4Almost perfect. This does the job as advertised. However, the volume boost is not quite as much as I'd hoped for. Using a VERY old turntable with a modern receiver (without a phono input), this device did boost the phonograph and we could hear loud and well through the receiver. However, we had to turn the receiver up to within 10% of max volume for a good, loud sound. Still, immeasurably better than without (as we couldn't hear on max volume without this little box). All in all, a good solution.4I have connected my XM radio to my HIFI system ... I have connected my XM radio to my HIFI system but the sound was not loud enough. With this preamp I noticed the sound improvement right away "amazing" it does the job. 5Audiophiles, no...rest of us...yes.Well, it works well. I have a vizio sound bar system with various inputs. This application is tied to an aux mini plug via rca plugs. The turn table is a direct drive Technics SL Q3 quartz...probably 30 years old. The product arrived on time. Connect the included power supply and attached the rca to mini input on the vizio. Fired up an ABBA album..and rocked out. You have control over the preamp output. This allows you to increase/decrease the volume (gain) to your amp. Great deal for most of us. An audiophile may object, but my ears are not what they were in 1970. Enjoy.4Love It!I needed a preamp between my turntable and sound board. This unit has an extremely low noise level and the gain control on the phono line makes balancing the turntable's level with my CD player's line level at the AUX input a "set it it and forget it" task. The sound output is crisp and clear. The price and quality of this preamp makes it a bargain. I highly recommend this preamp.5Solid build; aux indicator light is a bit much at night I'm not a fan of the bright yellow light that illuminates my room at night, but I love the sturdy metal case and the sound quality is great. I keep the volume up to the max through both inputs and the tactile switch is great. 4.3/5 4This was everything I wanted it to be. Only ... This was everything I wanted it to be. Only downside is you have to unplug it to turn it off. There's no power off button! 4
