Customer Reviews

Out of focusI installed the filter on a Sigma 150-600mm for use on a Nikon D810 camera body. The lens had been calibrated using the fine tune feature of the camera. When I installed the filter, the focus went so far out of adjustment the camera could not correct for it. I mounted the lens on a tripod and used the delay timer to reduce vibration. I swung the fine tune from -20 to +20 in 5 micro adjustments at a fixed target 25 yards away. Also, of interest is circular ring is slightly larger than the locking ring, making it difficult to remove once installed. Whether the filter I received was a one-off or typical is for the mfg to determine. After this experience, I returned the filter for a refund instead of risking further disappointment.1Not recommended.Got this to protect the front of a Tamron 150-600. The thin mounting ring makes it very difficult to remove and the lack of reference marks on the cpl ring makes it troublesome to use. The filtered photos are not great in clarity or sharpness. But then it is a cheap filter.1Maybe I got a bad one....I bought this filter based on the positive reviews of it. Well, maybe I got a bad one. I used it on my Tamron 150-600 and it turned a good lens into a blurred piece of optical embarrassment. First time I used it I noticed the view finder seemed out of focus. Then I took some sample pictures and OMG! This thing really degraded my nice lens. I did some tests with and without the filter on a test target (well, a sign about 200 feet away). Without this filter my images were sharp and clear...with this filter they were blurred and hard to read. I repeated this test several times just to make sure I hadn't made a mistake.Maybe some people got a good one, I didn't! In all fairness to the seller duds do make it through the supply chain. After I found out it had a problem I contacted the seller. They were very quick to respond and took care of the matter issuing a refund and apologized for my trouble.I have changed my rating to four starts...one for the product I got but then I upped the rating because the seller handed the problem quickly and more than fairly, all that I could ask for.3Another blurry oneI purchased this almost 2 years ago for my Tamron 150-600 lens, but didn't get a chance to use it until December 17. This lens had the same problem that others described. The Tamron by itself provided sharp photos, but once this filter was added, the images were very soft and blurry. I was unable to focus at all, even manually, with the filter installed. I didn't contact the seller as it had been so long after purchase; I just considered it a lesson learned from this price point.1Watch out Sigma 600mm Lens UsersI put this filter on my new out-of-the-box Sigma 150-600mm lens. Fit fine but then it would not come off. It rendered my lens useless as it kept slipping Auto-Focus and manual focus. I had to use fingernails to "pop" the filter off, at which point i noticed half of the filter ring stayed in my lens. So now the filters broken, can't return it and I'm not putting it back on the lens. End result, camera and lens work again but now my lens cap won't fit because half the filter ring is still in it and will probably remain forever. :(1CHEAP IS is CHEAP DOESThe inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after thrill of a bargain! This filter is garbage! Bought it for my Sigma 150-600.First, it never installed on the lens properly. Like other reviews, it kept spinning on the lens and never tightened. Just as well since I had to pry it off my $1000 lens!!! Tried shooting with it but nothing but blurred images, without it, pictures were crystal clear.Ashamed at myself that I put a cheap filter on an expensive lens. The bright side is that I have a nice coaster on the nightstand and the filter keeps me from putting rings on my furniture. DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER! Your pictures are worth more than $13.1Very Nice FilterI bought this polarized lens as a replacement. My current filter cost about $30. I do not find any difference in picture quality. The Tronixpro seems to be well made. I have not had the filter long enough, so I gave it a 4-star Durability rating, time will tell. Very please with this filter.5Good filter for a good priceIt's a decent filter. Granted, for this price, you can't expect much, but this filter just a surprisingly good job of cutting down on glare. For this price, you can't beat it.EDIT:This is a circular polarizer filter, so you can adjust this effect by rotating the top of the filter. You can see in the photo that there's a grooved ring on the bottom. However, with this filter, you'll want to be careful with it. It doesn't rotate very easily, so if you're not careful, you'll mess up your lens.Furthermore, with this particular lens, the effect is... Nearly negligible. Regardless of how much you *struggle* to rotate it, the effect is no different than the lens without the filter. The only thing this filter has going for it is that it does in fact reduce glare - unfortunately, that is all it does.2Excellent filter for my dash cam Fits on the dash cam's lens, turns smoothly without being loose, filters out the reflections from my car's windshield. I am very satisfied. 5For me it was a case of you get what you pay for. *Updated review*Update - the seller was communicative via Amazon message and easy to deal with. He offered me a choice of refund or replacement filter. I opted for the replacement and I'm glad I did. I tested the replacement and the original against no filter on the same Sigma 150-600mm lens. The new filter looks sharp and clear with none of the problems seem with the original. I also noticed when I hold the original up to a light source a kind of milky layer that is probably the source of the fuzzy images. The replacement does not show this at all. All in all I'm glad I purchased this product, I ended up with a good filter at a very low price.Original review:I would really like to tell you this is a great product for cheap, but unfortunately it is a case of you get what you pay for. I know some of the reviews on here are from people that got a good one, I was hoping I would too, but it gives fuzzy edges to the subject. I took pictures of the full moon with my Sigma 150-600mm lens with and without this filter. The difference was very dramatic. Both were taken on a tripod mount with a 10 second timer to allow the vibrations of the camera to stop after pressing the shutter button. The pictures of the moon with the filter are basically unuseable. With no filter they came out sharp and clear. I have not contacted the company for a replacement yet, but I might do that since some of the reviews stated similar issues with the first one and then the replacement was fine. At best this is a hit and miss proposition.4Feel like a fool for buying this.I feel like a fool. I bought this filter when I bought a Sigma lens. I fought with the Sigma lens, never being able to get the kind of sharp image I wanted. I finally sold the Sigma and bought a Tamron and transferred this filter to it. Similar problem. I finally sent the Tamron to the company to be repaired and removed this filter. Tamron said the lens was fine and it finally dawned on me that it was the filter. Kicking myself, but probably a good lesson learned.1
