Customer Reviews

No complaints so farI purchased this palm rest cover for my 13" Macbook Air because the area where I usually rest my hands to type was getting pretty grimy. Even though I usually clean it with a Magic Eraser (works like a charm, by the way), I still felt like I needed a cover so that the machine itself doesn't get worn down. I just applied the cover, and it seems to fit very well. It is cut to the exact dimensions of the computer and is easy to apply. The material of the cover seems quite durable, and the adhesive is very sticky (so be careful to apply it carefully). It also blends in quite nicely with the machine itself. I'll be interested to see if it starts to discolor, but for now, I am quite happy with this product. As an additional note, I can't comment on the trackpad cover because I use a mouse.5Pretty goodThe color doesn't quite match, but I'm not really all about looks, I just want to protect my brand new computer from scratches. It took me a few tries to get it on, but just make sure that have everything lined. I like the way that it feels, but I wish the made one that went all the way around so everything would be protected. I think my only worry is that it will leave residue once I take it off. Overall, I like it and I think I would definitely buy it again if it doesn't leave residue on the computer.UPDATE: I had this palm rest cover on for a little over a year and I decided that I wanted to take it off. I saw a bunch of reviews saying that it was a pain to take off because it left a bunch of sticky residue. Fortunately for me, when I went to take mine off, there was very little residue and it was on the corners but other than that it came off super clean and I am SOOOO glad that I didn't have to spend hours taking off sticky residue.4Works great, and a solution for the sticky situationsFits perfectly for what I needed it for. I bought this item because I seem to have painful and irritating skin reactions when touching the actual chrome surface of my Macbook Air repeatedly, and for extended periods of time. So to minimize skin reactions since I don't have enough money to buy a brand new laptop of a different variety, I thought this would be the perfect fix.So far after a month of receiving it, it's done very well for that! I can definitely see how the adhesive side would leave a sticky and messy residue however. This palm rest is meant to have an extremely long life and good durability so it needs to be super sticky or else it'd be useless! So definitely need an extreme amount of concentration while placing to not mess it up.And if you do mess it up (or if I ever have to remove the palm rest in the future) I have known solution that works great for sticker residues: lemon or lime juice. Freshly squeezed or from a bottle out of the fridge, just soak a paper towel in it and rub it on the residue. If that's not quite enough then really soak the paper towel with the lime/lemon juice and let it sit for about a minute over the sticky areas. Should come off easy.5Nice palm-rest cover, terrible trackpad cover.I have mixed feelings about this product. If it were any more expensive, I would give it fewer stars due to the trackpad portion.Pros:*Easy to line up and install the palm-rest part. One tip though, if you have a shell clipped on the outside of your MB, take it off first so you don't apply this sticker over the clips. Then clip the shell on with those clips first so the clips don't mess up the sticker.*The color matches nearly perfectly and it feels durable.Cons:*The trackpad sticker is useless. It decreases the sensitivity and makes it so you can't tap to click or two-finger scroll. I've decided to leave that part off. (It peeled off nicely btw)3Nice coverI am not very good at taking care of my computers so when I got my newest lap top I made sure to order this right away. So far, I really like it, it matches the finish of my computer exactly and gives a little grip under your palms when typing. You have to be very aware of air bubbles when applying it, once it's on you can't move it and if you try to lift it up, you will end up bending the cover and it won't smooth out again. I have two little air bubbles I tried to get out and decided to let them be b/c I damaged the corner of the cover a bit trying to lift it, silly me!4fit like a glovethis did everything i needed it to do. it was a bit darker than my computer but i didnt stress too much about it since i also have a keyboard cover so you cant really tell unless you were really looking at it. the trackpad skin made it feel a little unresponsive sometimes but everything goes through a trial usual error and eventually you get used to it and know how much pressure to apply to make it work seamlessly. i love this item and will repurchase in the future.5A soft durable clear vinyl would be FAR better than the "hard/thick" material with the coverThis cover is close to a five-star but because of a couple of gripes I can only manage two. The cover is "metallic plastic" if that makes sense at all. A soft durable clear vinyl would be FAR better than the "hard/thick" material of this palm cover. I have a very nice top-end cover clipped onto my Macbook Air and this palm cover does not allow for the tiny incursions into the area by the cover hold-down clips. Consequently, there are two "bumps" where the clips are placed. This palm cover is borderline too big even though it is exact size.Second, this cover is really tough to install. You have to get it dead-right the first time. I'd much rather deal with the mess of soap sprays and a vinyl cover that give you a few minutes to "center" the covers than this stick & hold cover. It feels okay during use. I'll probably quit seeing and noticing the "bumps" in a week or two but this would not be my first choice if I bought a palm cover again. Hope this helps.2Good buyThe palm rest and trackpad cover are sleek and sturdy. It is a good color match to my MacBook Air and it installed easily. I was concerned about previous reviews that said that the trackpad cover made interface more difficult, but I have had no issues with it. The mouse is still very responsive to movement and the single, double, and triple-finger taps/swipes all function perfectly. The mouse pad is flimsy, but that's not the reason I bought this set--I wanted something that would help to help protect my laptop (which was a huge investment for me) and it is doing just that! I'm still keeping the mousepad in my bag because it's thin enough that it doesn't bother and it works well in a pinch. Overall a great value for the price.5I'd recommend itI don't normally write reviews about insignificant, small products but chances are if you bought a Macbook Air, you are highly concerned with protecting your new piece of equipment. The part of any laptop where your palm rests is the part most susceptible to wear and tear from your palms constantly resting in this area. Because of this, I really recommend that you use this product or a similar one.Pros:-The product has a nice feel to it as other reviewers have noted. It feels better than the cold metallic feel the Macbook has.-It has an overall nice look to it and doesn't detract from the appearance of your MBA.-It will truly protect your MBA from scratches and general wear.-Read the back of the packaging. You will find the very poorly-written English instructions highly entertaining.Cons:-The trackpad is horrible. I have mostly gotten used to it, but I no longer "tap to click" since this feature basically fails to work with the trackpad.-Sensitivity of the trackpad is severely reduced thus affecting all other swipe features of the trackpad.-The fit of the palmgaurd is not 100% perfect but it's pretty darn close.4so much residueI had my cover on for two months before the side of it cracked and started scratching my wrist when I tried to type. I peeled it off but it left a ton of residue all over the area it was protecting. I spent over an hour trying to clean it off but it still won't go away.1
