Customer Reviews

Highly recommend, helped me out! While purchasing some tools for coax I came across these terminators. After some research in reviews and online websites, it seemed as if these products were for the old days when Cable was much more susceptible to interference. I ended up purchasing them anyway and am glad I did. I started experiencing trouble with my cable where TV channels would be flakey and the modem would receive a substantially high number of Uncorrectables. This did NOT remedy that problem. However when the technician was out to run new cable to a few rooms and eliminate interference, I asked him about them and he strongly advised I use them. I did a test after the technician left and removed all terminators. Comes to find out, the terminators increased my signal level on Downstream by around 1-1.5dBmV. A significant change in my opinion. My signal level wasn't low per-say, however I noticed that these also correlated to a much lower number of Correctables and Uncorrectables. Give them a shot, you might be surprised.5People ask questions before connecting to the coaxial cable. These terminators block voltage, and they look like finished products. We have Internet on our coaxial lines, and these terminators prevent anyone from adding a television we know has no modem. These terminators are likely to block line noise from any electronic device. We have extra electrical tape on our terminators to make sure no line noise could ever happen to our coaxial connections.5They are cheap but they work. The construction of these will not inspire much confidence but they do work fine for terminating a 75 ohm output properly. It's not the kind of terminator I would buy for lab work as I do not thing the center pin can take a whole lot of bending before it breaks but they are good for cable splitters and Directv SWM splitter termination etc.3work for meI don't know if these are really necessary or not, but I used them to close-off unused ports on a couple of signal amplifiers. They screw on like they're supposed to. I didn't measure to verify the 75 Ohm resistor.5Fit well and look neater than my tape jobI don't know if these things do any good, but I read somewhere that it's important to cap off any unused open coax ends with this type of "terminator". The claim is that you'll lose some signal strength in the system with the open end exposed to the environment. I had an open end dangling behind my shop where it had been hooked up to a 5th wheel camper in years past. Since this was split off near the middle of a long cable run I decided to heed the advice I read and replace my electrical tape "terminator" with one of these official terminators. I haven't noticed any dramatic change in the signal strength, but I think the length of my cable run and the direction of the antenna outweigh the importance of these terminators in affecting my signal strength at the TVs. I still give them 5 stars since they do fit the cable end and apparently make my cable meet "best practice". It also looks classier than my black tape and probably does a better job of keeping gunk and spiders out.5Overall good, One defectiveShort Story:Great buy. The fixed a major internet signal issue, which was a huge frustration.~~ Pros ~~+ Inexpensive+ Easy to install+ Improved overall cable signal (thank goodness)~~ Cons ~~- 1 manufacturing defect (see pic)~~ Recommend? ~~= YUP... even if i have to eat the bad one it's a vast improvement on what i had going on with my cable!Long Story:I purchased these terminators after having a significant problem with my cable internet service. After many other steps, even replacing the modem, i found online discussions about un-terminated connections on splitters and jacks being the cause of signal issues (noise etc.). The price was low enough it was worth at least trying them. They came shipped in a little plastic bag and shipped in a mailing envelope via 1st Class Mail.As i was installing them, I found one of them was defective (smashed and not threaded). All the others were as expected. I removed 1* for this. The terminators were easy to install and the threads were well formed. Most of the center conductors had to be straightened out but that's not really unexpected when they are in loose packaging like this and it's very easy to correct. The best news is that after terminating all open jacks, my cable modem shows that the dBvM has improved and i have very few Correctable or Uncorrectable errors. Before installing these i was having to reset the modem a couple times a day to stay connected.I'll contact the seller and i'm sure they will ship me a replacement for the defective one. I'll update this review if/when that happens and if i have further information about how these improved my cable internet signal.UPDATE 9/4/2019 ~~~~The seller (Cimple) very promptly replied to me, apologized for the issue and offered to either send me another bag of terminators or refund 1/2 my order price. Both very generous offers. The reality of modern automated production is that defects do happen and not all can be caught (not 100%). What is important is what a company does when defects are reported... Anyone dealing with Cimple should find service is going to be good (based on my experience). Thanks Cimple.Bumping my review up to 5* to reflect a great experience.5Works greratPicked these up to terminate open coax connection on multi-output line amplifiers. Leaving unused coax terminals UN-terminated can cause signal loss to the other used connections. Since we add amps to our coax to boost signal, losing any of that boost is counter productive. Add these to any open terminals and send ALL the boosted signal along to its destination. These will last me a life time.5Function, Quality, etcThe materal looks good quality. The only part is the metal pin in the middle that it looks a little bit more skinny than the one in the coaxial cable of a regular cable tv which I'm not sure if the pin in F-Type will make a good contact to minimize the loss of signal. Right now after testing the internet speed in my house, it doesn't seem to be stronger so I can't tell that the F-Type is doing the work but I will have a technician to do somebmore troubleshooting in the connections.3Cheap piece of mind...If you have unused cable outlets, do yourself a favor and get these. These actually restore any signal degradation for having unused and any extra cable connections. I had 5 unused outlets when I moved in and my 33mb connection was only running 3.5mb/sec. After installing, I got my full bandwidth back.5As advertsiedAs my Mom only watches streamed K-drama and my cable TV has NO K-drama, I decided to move the cable mini-box in my guest room to my new large wall mounted TV in the LR that I bought at a BF sale. But that means I would need to terminate the cable connection in my guest room which is why I bought this item. Seems to work fine,5
