Customer Reviews

Does the job...I put this on my mini freezer to keep my kids out of the snacks and frozen foods and it worked. Well that is until today when somehow my daughter pried the one pad off. Not sure how long it took her, must of have taken her some time but no worries I'll just order another set. Aside from that though it worked great. I will say to be to sure to place them close enough to where a hand can't squeeze in. My son was good for that.5Doesn't stick.Didn't stick. Fell off two days later despite being super careful putting it on. Had to use Gorilla glue, to glue it in place.2Great product / PriceyThe product works extremely well and definitely sticks to the refrigerator well. They are about as unobtrusive as an item like this can be. I knocked off one star simply because of the price. To secure a household of refrigerators and freezers may run you over $100, especially by the time you buy locks.4Bad design, look elsewherePiece of junk. Within 24 hours of installing the 2 stick-on pieces, the loop (that the lock attaches to) detached from the cable. Now I have a useless super-glued piece of metal on my refrigerator with a wire cable sticking out. Once it is attached, you're basically stuck. So if it breaks, you are stuck with a piece of junk super-glued to your source.1Great product idea, but......Great product idea and love how it works. I used this for my own personal fridge to keep the roommates from stealing my craft beers. The problem is the adhesive tape that is on the back is really sucks. It will hold for a month or two, but if you use a lock that is worthy and not a small suitcase lock, it will be too heavy and eventually fall off. You could probably use something like Gorilla Glue Epoxy to make it more permanent, but I will be looking elsewhere.1A Mother's DelightMy adult son has a syndrome (Prader Willi) that requires him to eat no more than 1200 calories a day to MAINTAIN his weight. In his supported living apartment, staff uses a combination lock to keep it locked up until it is time to open and remove the next meal.5Works as advertisedI was a bit skeptical that "tape" could hold up to the potential abuse that this lock kit might have to endure. I've been using it since August with no problems. The adhesive is still holding tight. A word of advice. Place the lock pads where you want them and trace a line around them with a sharpie. DO NOT GO OUTSIDE THE LINES WHEN ROUGHING UP THE SURFACE WITH THE SCRATCH PAD. After you rough up the surface wipe it thoroughly with the cleaning pad. when you peel and stick the actual lock pad, make sure it's exactly where you want it. Once stuck you aren't going to move it.5Bad engineering or bad manufacturing? As a couple of other people noted, the main cable is very easy to pull out of its crimped base plate. My tiny, 100 lb wife broke it by simply trying to casually open the door. Twice. So you end up with the base of the unit (now useless) forever adhered to your fridge. Here are pix of the failure and my fix. I had to grind down the end of the cable and epoxy it back in place. So far the fix works, but this is clearly a big problem with this product. You should not sell a lock that has a 1/4 steel cable (breaking strength about 5,000 lbs) that fails with a slight tug. Especially since it is not easily fixed or replaced.1Waste of money! After two weeks my 92 year old father with dementia was able to detach the cable from the metal base (glued to the refrigerator) when he pulled the door. Don't waste your money!1DOOR LOCK CABLES: yesseem pretty good quality. just make sure to clean surface well & line cable holes up exactly: use a pencil to outline destination of stick pad.5
