Customer Reviews

You get what you pay for ! Quality product !Great case ! First time I tried a speck product was for my iPhone 5 and that phone had several falls during 4 years and never scratched until finally last month it fell and the home button fell off but that's another story ! Ok so I got my galaxy s8 and since it's my first new phone in years I wanted to protect it the best I can but I've never seen someone with a galaxy use a speck case so I did a lot of research on other cases and was about to buy one like the spigen or caseology but I always had one question in my mind "why are they so cheap?" Must have something to do with the material or how much it protects your phone so I read a lot of reviews and turns out many people had dropped their phone and it was not safe ! Plus I noticed a lot of the other cases didn't have good grip so of course one would think it will slip a lot. So I finally decided on this speck presidio grip case and I'm so happy I did !!! I'll tell you guys why .. I have a 2 year old and we were out at a restaurant and although at home I never lend him my phone he was getting fussy so I gave it to him to watch videos and of course he ended up dropping my phone from high chair length to the floor and guess what ? My phone doesn't have one scratch! And that's with no screen protector! I'm telling y'all that speck cases are really worth the price!5I do not like this new design and untimatly returned the caseI have always used Speck cases and this one I got for my new Galaxy s8 was a new design. The plastic material was textured instead of smooth and the grippy part is more flat to the case and not as grippy as the old cases. My last cases were black and white and I had no complaints about the cases at all, this grey and blue one picked up a lot of dirt and looked gross very quickly. I do not like this new design and untimatly returned the case. I'll have to hunt for another case that does what I want, not slip out of my hands and looks nice.2Falling apartI've always loved Speck cases for their durability and grip.... However, these newer ones for the S8 are made out of different material, or so it would seem. I purchased this case 4/27/17. The hard shell is now matte instead of glossy, which is no big deal to me. But, not even a month later, the rubberized grips are peeling. I've never seen this happen with any other Speck case before. I haven't dropped my phone once yet.2Don't pay more than $10I previously owned a Speck clear case for my Galaxy S8 and after about 18 months it finally started falling apart near the charge port -- the thin bridge of material broke. I figured 18 months was a pretty good lifespan so I went with Speck again and I don't like this case nearly as much. Even though it has the grooves, it doesn't have as much grip as the clear Presidio case. I can also tell that it won't hold up for quite as long because the material feels very thin and flexible. Finally, I don't really like how difficult it is to blindly (whether in the dark or just not looking at the phone) find the power button on the side of the phone when I just want to briefly check notifications. The grooves all along the side of the case make everything feel the same and I can't locate the button without guessing or looking down. On the upside, I have dropped the phone once from 3-4 feet and no damage was done, so it's doing its job so far.3I loved my Samsung 6s edge case from Speck that I ...I loved my Samsung 6s edge case from Speck that I got another when I upgraded my phone to the s8, but after 5 months, it is already falling apart and I'm super bummed. Quality of this case doesn't seem to hold a candle to the previous one.1the raised grips on the back have been coming off which makes it a pain to get in and out of pockets and is a distraction when holding it - and this problem continues to get worse as more grips are getting raised/coming offBought this case in July and have had it on my phone ever since. It has protected my phone fabulously, however, the raised grips on the back have been coming off which makes it a pain to get in and out of pockets and is a distraction when holding it - and this problem continues to get worse as more grips are getting raised/coming off! When I bought this case, it was $30 (I see the price has come down since then) so I was quite disappointed when it began to fall apart.3Case had good gripI've had this case for 1 year and 2 months and it held up preventing my phone screen from any cracks up until this point. I first noticed small parts of the rubber grip started to peal on the back of the case from normal usage, pulling in and out of my pocket. Then I developed small cracks near the volume rocker, power button as well as in the all four corners of the case from phone drops that occurred every know and then. Please note once your case is cracked you will have a higher probability of cracking your screen as you will not have the usual protection. In my case this is what happened. Overall the case is good enough to buy for say a year, but once you case gets dinged up its time for a new one. It s not completely resistant from damage at any level of feet it is dropped, but if you rarely drop your phone you should be good to go. I have this case for a work iPhone that I rarely use and it's still in good shape.3Only lasted a yearUpdate: does not last. I've had the product for a year and everything is peeling off. Im buying a different brand now.I bought this in December for my new s8 phone, and I ordered the dark purple/blue color. I scoured over which phone case to get, and I decided on this one for the taller lip and quality of materials. I haven't been disappointed. I've been being very careful with my phone because I know its extra breakable because of the curved glass, but I have dropped it several times. The only damage my phone received was from the little metal disk thats used for a magnetic phone holder slipping out from under the case upon impact with the ground. It popped up and barely scraped the metal around the camera but its hardly noticeable. There are a few scratches on the hard plastic of the case on the bottom of the back, possibly from my keys, but the rubber is still intact and not discoloring. Looks basically new besides the few scratches still.2Falling apart after two very well cared for monthsI had this same case for my S6 and for just over two years it stayed in great shape, to the point it still looks pretty new. I'm one of those people that has a case because they should, not because I beat up my phone/case. I excitedly got this for my S8 as it was everything I wanted in a case. Unfortunately after not quite two months, it is falling apart. The sheer plastic overlay is peeling in several spots and the tougher rubber/plastic is also falling apart. Very disappointed that after less than two months (after two plus years of greatness) I have to find a different case after paying as much as I did for this one.2Rubber & plastic startsto peel after a few monthsBought this last year, after about 6 months the rubber grip lines started peeling in the back, the area around the charger/speaker is sagging and the plastic is coming off. I've never dropped the phone, so all this wear is coming from my pockets which makes me wonder if my s8 would actually survive a fall. I would expect this from a $5 case, but at $18 it's absurd. There's a lifetime warranty, with no instructions on how to contact the seller. Amazon should remove the from the 'Amazon choice' level.1
