Not accurate reading. Tested on 5 power supply, including 2 brand new, gave all the same result, lower values. Matter of fact, one of the PS working just fine with lots of devices plugged on it. 1Excellent Power Supply Tester, 5 STARS! This Power Supply Tester is first of all, Well Made! It holds together while pushing test plugs in and out. I had 7 power supplys that I had removed from various computers which I repair. When I got this new Power Supply Tester, I tested each power supply just to teach myself how to use it (comes with zero instructions). Now, I am confident that I can determine whether a power supply is good or bad. I've used it to test power supplys that were still installed. It's easy to use and very mobile. The size is nice, fits in one hand comfortably. I've used it sometimes without unplugging or powering off the power supply. It seems to take the punishment. I recommend this Power Supply Tester to everyone! 5Inexpensive Power Supply tester The device is pretty self-explanatory. It worked well and was easy to read. The device has a nice aluminum casing which makes it feel solid even though it has no heft to it. It doesn't have much for directions and they are mostly in Chinese (some language i can't read if it is something else don't take offense please.) I mostly ignored the directions and plugged in my power supply and it let off a beeping noise. I wasn't sure what it meant and referring the directions it mentioned a difference in sounds the device would make if it worked versus if it didn't. As i didn't have a failing power supply around i had no reference but the readout seemed to show the correct values. I took one star away for the annoying sounds that aren't well explained but overall it does what it is supposed to and was a good price! 4NIETHER Amazon or the company will make good on this and they're $13 piece of crap has ... beware of this item! when I plugged in the SATA connector to test its power supply this device shorted out my computer power system. The power supply in my computer is now defective because I use the defective device that I didn't know was defective to test it. NIETHER Amazon or the company will make good on this and they're $13 piece of crap has ruined a $45 power supply. So I suggest to anybody considering this item stay the hell away from it! 1Great power supply tester. Five stars! This a really good power supply tester. Right after I received it, I had 3 power supplies that were questionable. I tested them and they all show as good power supplies and I was able to use them in some computers. I really like the display and how it shows the actual voltage. I manually tested 3 of the voltage readings on one of the supplies and it verified what the tester showed. I would highly recommend this tester and would definitely but it again. 5Always room in my toolbox for this one! I've been building and repairing PCs since the late 1980s. Checking power supplies is one of the first steps I always take, and now I can do it much faster than setting up leads from my Volt Meter (VOM) by simply plugging in this small device and reading the results instantly. The price is very reasonable, too. 5Compact, looks good, works well for reading voltages, unsure about true test. Shows the voltages, but I'm unsure if it really tests it. There is nothing to make even the slightest load for a voltage drop. Some incandescent bulbs would do the trick, not sure where to wire them in. I might make something for that out of a molex adapter or 6pin PCIE cable.It could also use a chart printed on the unit of the "proper" voltages the power supply should be creating. 4It should 1 star for having absolutely no documentation at all but the construction is good and it works well so the product itself actually ... This may help:NOTICE: Do not connect the powers supply to your PC while testing!The directions are easy and is actually very simple to use.!!! Make sure the power supply and all the connections are removed from the computer.Plug in the main 20- or 24-pin ATX connector from a power supply that you want to check.Two beeps indicate that the liquid-crystal display (LCD) has updated each voltage and power-good (PG) value based on what is currently being tested.The 12 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V LEDs will light if their corresponding power outputs are good, and reamian off if the power outputs fail. (The voltage sources are to be tested one by one.)Test any of the component voltage cables one at a time by attaching a 4-, 6-, or 8-pin CPU connector, 4-pin FDD or Molex (HDD) connector (+12 V1 / +5 V), or SATA (+12 V1 / +5 V / +3.3 V) connector to the tester, checking the appropriate LEDs for output indications.Remove each non-ATX connector after each test.!!!
