Lethal Weapon?Probably this and the woo audio headphone stand are some of the best on the market. This stand is a fu!king tank man. If a nuclear war happened and you managed to survive but you have to fight off weird irradiated creatures, this headphone stand and a pair of LCD XCs would be used to take the fight to them. My favorite thus far. If you can get over the price it's great. If you can get someone else buy it for you, even better.5A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF MACHINED ALUMINUM & A FUNCTIONAL MONITOR RISERRight now, it is supporting a late 2015 iMac 5K (~21lbs or ~9.5 kg) without bowing in the middle at all. The smooth silver metal perfectly matches the iMac. Meanwhile, my posture already feels better, and my desk is less cluttered. I had never encountered SilverStone Technology Co., but their product is on par with the look and feel of a quality Apple product. While buying a monitor riser, my main concerns were the quality of construction, aesthetic appeal, and the monitor riser's height. All three concerns have been overwhelmingly satisfied (and, I'd bet this could handle even more weight). The only foreseeable problem is that the four, small rubber feet might someday need replacement, but this is trivial.TL;DR - Very pleased. It was worth the $60.5Lovely headphone stand, Quality Assurance failure.I recently upgraded to some HD 800S headphones. I figured it was time to upgrade the ol' banana holder to something a little more fitting for the headphones. The headphone stand arrived very well packaged and looked wonderful. It's heavy, seemingly well machined, and has a nice anodized finish. When I assembled the stand, however, that's where I ran into a snag. There are four flathead screws that attach the 'neck' to the 'head' of the stand. I could only get two of them to begin to thread into their holes in the head piece. The screws seem to protrude far enough, but the threads in the holes of the head piece didn't seem to start quite at the surface. I figured I'd just measure them and buy some longer screws next time I was at Lowe's or something. After all, two screws of this size (~#4/M3 ballpark) should be able to hold hundreds of pounds of static load. They could certainly handle the pound or so of aluminum and headphone. It turns out they couldn't. Almost immediately after placing my brand new HD 800S's on the stand, the head fell off. The nice chamfered edge of the base was scuffed up, along with a few scuffs on the headphones. So, in addition to the threads of the mounting holes being too recessed, they also seem to be too over-sized to actually properly engage the screw threads.I contacted SilverStone, explained what happened, and asked whether I should RMA the stand through them or Amazon, and their response was simply, "You should go through amazon." That's a ridiculous response considering I, and everyone else reading this, bought or considered buying this stand for a very premium price to store and display headphones that cost an order of magnitude or two more. It's either a failure of an extremely simple tolerance stackup analysis or QA, or both. Either way, it's absurd considering the price.Amazon is replacing the headphone stand without a hassle, and I thank them. I hope the replacement is as lovely as the original seemed, because it's the last SilverStone product I'll buy.1It's big, beautiful, and built like a tank! It's big, beautiful, and built like a tank. I bought this to hold my LCD-2C because my old cheap stand was stretching the suspension band. Most importantly, I had absolutely zero problems with assembly. Whatever QA problems people mentioned from earlier this year must have been addressed.5... still probably true but MAN does this thing look good. What does $70 get youI was certain that I didn't need a $70 headphone stand and that is still probably true but MAN does this thing look good. What does $70 get you? a stand that is built like a tank and it sure to last you a lifetime. In that sense, the cost isn't so bad. There are stands that cost just as much or even more and are not built to this high quality standard. One last that I'd also like to note is that if you are looking for a stand to hold an expensive pair of headphones, it would be a good ideal not to go cheap with it. The last thing you want to for the stand not to hold up very well leaving your headphones to fall and get scuffed up or damaged.5Can't beat for your iMac or Desktop monitor!I have a late 2012 iMac and couldn't find a solution that I liked to raise the monitor to eye level. Most options on the market are really small or made of part plastic and part metal. However this is by far the best option I could find and I couldn't be happier! This thing is SOLID and I mean S O L I D. I was afraid that this wasn't going to work out well in the long run, aluminum seems to get scratched somewhat easily but that has not been the case! I have had this for around 6 months now and it looks just as good as the day I got it! I keep my macbook wireless keyboard and separate keypad underneath when they are not in use, it's a great space saver! There is also enough room on top to put any accessories you might want such as a USB hub.5Adds an elegant touch to my BattlestationThe quality of this stand is amazing, I love the look of the black aluminum body. I already have the Zalman Aluminum monitor stand so I actually bought this to put my new NZXT H440 Matte Black case which has the same look as the stand. The Silverstone is a bit shorter and has a shallower depth. You can't really put anything in front of it, only to the side with a monitor on it. I tried this as a monitor stand as well and my Das Keyboard 4 fits just fine under it. I may buy more in the future to put my Sonos on and stack my cable box underneath. It's very aesthetically pleasing and worth the high price tag. I can see the silver stand being ideal for an Apple-esque setup.5Solid Headphone standA great solid stand that has excellent price performance to quality compared to other stands. Purchased these for $57. Might not be so much at the current price of $79 but similar in price to the Woo Audio stands.Pros:- Nice heavy base, no chance of it tipping over because your headphones are too heavy.- Can be used as a weapon.Cons:- Edges are sharp. Be careful placing your headphones on the stand or else there is the possibility of them scratching.5Are you kidding me? What a piece of junk.I am sure some people received a good unit judging from the reviews. However, the unit I received could not be assembled because the screws are too short. I wasted a half hour of my life I will never get back, paid top dollar for this thing, and they clearly have basic QA issues. Before you spend your money on this, ask yourself if you have the time to waste.1Great stand, good looking, frees up desk space.Love this stand. If you want a product that matches the look and feel of your iMac, this is the one to get. Material is very thick and seems of high quality. I have a 27" newer iMac and the stand may bow EVER so slightly in the middle from the weight, however since I can't really tell for sure it is clearly not very noticeable. The simple, open design on the bottom allows for cords to be nicely stowed away, as well as room for your keyboard / mouse, an external hard drive, notepads, pens, or whatever else you want to stash underneath as it provides for a nice cubby area. Very happy with this product.5
