Customer Reviews

I love this case!I was hesitant at first to place an order because of the color on the photo. Was surprise when I receive the case with a glowing orange (see photos). Using this for my phantom 2 with all of the stuff snugly fit with custom foam plucked out. This is my first seahorse case and will surely buy more soon.Update: Tip: I tried spraying the top foam with plastidip (like what other suggested here) works really good as it keeps the foam glued together.5AMAZING case! Warning and tips on the foam plucking in review...I had gone through my fair share of soft bags in the past and kept upgrading to the next, but this case was the best purchase I made for carrying my gear. It was a chore setting it all up but definitely worth the result.I recommend measuring the area of your foam onto cardboard and placing your gear on it so that you can mess with a layout for the perfect fit. Then transfer your products on top of the foam and use toothpicks to give you an outline of your gear and then remove your piece of gear and gently pluck the foam with your fingers. You can use a utility knife (I started out using one, but then realized it was easier to just pluck with my fingers). I set my gear in as I finished plucking and moved around the outside first to ensure I kept enough cushion around the exterior and then worked my way in and that worked well. There are two layers of thick foam so if you have long items that you don't want to lay flat, you can pluck through the two layers and there is a base of foam under those two layers. I had checked into Pelican cases as well but for the price and reviews I went with this one and while I'm sure Pelican cases are great too, this one has been a great case for a lot less cost.LESSON LEARNED: You'll see in the picture that the line of battery cases in between the camera body and lens only has one row of foam squares due to my attempt to cram as much gear into this one case as possible. This started out fine but after frequently pulling out the lens during this wedding season, that foam wall has started to break apart. I did insert toothpicks into the main body of the little foam wall and that has helped a little but I'll likely order a new foam insert before next wedding season and just leave the battery packs out. All this to say, you'll want to leave at least 2 rows of foam squares in between your gear pieces.5Pelican's cheaper brother. One of my favorite purchases from amazon. This thing is built tough and very deep. I own a lot of delicate electronics and with this case traveling with them went from a nightmare to a pleasure cruise. Honestly this thing is straight on par with a full fledged pelican case. It just costs less, which is absolutely awesome. The pick and pluck foam is well designed and easy to work with to perfectly design custom little compartments for your fragile equipment. Will definitely order another or perhaps a smaller one for my higher end headphones.5Better than I expected...I placed the order for this, but I was a bit skeptical about keeping it. I wasn't sure I wanted to take on the task of plucking and pulling the foam out, because if I made a mistake, there's no going back. I purchased this to keep a DJI phantom 3 quadcopter and its accessories. I am glad I have a hard case for it. I decided to use tooth picks to outline the phantom 3 first. It was placed in center as I wanted to be able to leave the props on during travel. I felt there was too much pressure on the props with the lid closed, so I will keep props off during travel. There's a 1" ish pad on the bottom I decided to keep out as things would be a bit tight. Extra batteries will fit perfectly above and below copter, but using for cables/tools since I don't have the extra batteries yet.Be patient. Lay out the items you want and where they will go... Before plucking. Use toothpicks to help. Be patient. For the price and quality I am happy with my purchase.5Awesome cases!Awesome case without the cost of a Pelican case. I wasn t so sure how well this would do compared to Pelican due to it being half the price. Once I realized that Seahorse cases have the same warranty as Pelican, I decided to take the chance.I am not disappointed. These cases are very well made, travel well, are durable and strong, and as far as I am concerned these are a great value. I will keep buying these for my very expensive cameras, lenses, gimbals, etc., without hesitation.5I was worried about orange color being too dull. I didnt want an orange that was old looking. The handle comes out with a push of a button and wheels are sturdy enough for regualar use on pavement/sidewalks. I am very pleased with the space it has and is a great product for the price. I was looking into pelican and hprc but for what i want my case its just perfect and less pricy but still sturdy enough. The orange in the view product slides do seem like a dull orange and thats what kind of made me not want to order but i took the risk and im glad the orange is a bright pretty orange. I will update later once i have it set up for my facepainting. I originally wanted the craft and go but its costs like 500.oo and i feel i can make this work..hope this helps5Fantastic Photography gear storage at an affordable price.Fantastic cases for photography gear that feels robust and strong.I've purchased 5 of these SE 920 cases over the last few months for my photography gear (I've also purchased a larger SE 1220 case as well).I don't add new gear very much, so I picked these cases up with the "pick-n-pluck" foam. It is very easy to pick/pluck, but just make sure you spend some time in advance preparing for how you are going to lay everything out so that you don't pick yourself into a corner. Figure it out then pluck. I have one case for film-based photography gear, another for large studio monolights, another for smaller speedlights, yet another for cameras and lenses and the last case I use for assorted things: strobe reflectors, power cables, brackets, and all the other various odds-n-ends that go with location gigs. The seem very strong, and so far, for what I've used them with - they work fantastically. They stack up on themselves and then I usually put them on a Rock n Roller cart, wheel them in to the gig and then set them down and open them up besides each other. Because the pick-n-pluck is so specific, it isn't difficult for an assistant to know where to put the gear back when done. Everything is cushioned and clean and organized. Each of the cases have roller wheels. They are some sort of mix of rubber wheels and hard plastic. They don't feel as robust comparatively as the wheels on my Think Tank roller bags, and I'm wondering how long they will last going over pavement. Because I use a Rock n Roller cart, I'll probably never see them die, because they won't be wheeled around separately all that often. Each case has a pop-up handle on the back so you can grab it and wheel with ease. Rolling seems good but the glide isn't as buttery smooth as my Think Tank bags. But that is comparing apples to oranges. They have two closing snaps. These cases in particular came with locks on each snap that can be closed with a plastic key. Each case comes with two plastic keys. Feels pretty secure when locked, but you can add your own padlock or key-lock on them as well, as they have holes for them, which can add additional reassurance. Especially if you think someone on set might have sticky fingers.I love the yellow color. I wanted something bright and bold. Some people consider the safety yellow color garish, but I love it. So easy to identify. And having multiples makes it easy to know exactly what gear is mine.I picked these up when the price was $105 for each case. That is a fantastic price. Even at the current $115 price, I'd still say that is a steal. I compared these to similar style cases, and It would have cost me a great deal more money for the number of cases I needed. These feel just as sturdy and waterproof as the other top brand, but it's much easier on the wallet. I don't do jobs where I'm under heavy risk of large objects falling on my cases, so I think these will last for a lifetime.Worth worth the price. A valuable addition to housing my gear. I'm very glad I bought these and look forward to a long time of usage from them.5My equipment loves it! Great BuyI been using this case for a while now, I fitted 2 cameras, 3 lenses, 3 speed lights, a monopod, a head and a bunch of extra stuff at the bottom.Probably I'm fitting more stuff than most people >__< but I like to have most of my equipment in one place. It came with 2 sponges that you can cut out to fit each piece.I made everything very tight so the equipment feels really secure.I wish i picked a different color because the gray has a hint of army green, but that's just my personal preference.I would definitely buy another one!5Pelican Who?Everything I hoped it would be. This case is solid. Everything feels tight and right. Wheels are nice, solid, and roll smooth. The handle has a little to be desired, but functional. Don t have a lot of confidence in the plastic keys, but I don t really travel with my equipment where it s out of my sight. The case itself is solid. A little on the heavy side, but I like the weight, it feels quality. It s new so things are stiff, but I believe everything will loosen up a little with use.If I had one gripe, it would probably be the foam. It s dense, which is good, but the pick and pluck squares don t look as nice as say the Pelican pick and pluck. But this is just a minor gripe. This is a situation where function is preffereable over form and I m really happy overall.Gonna buy a couple more for the rest of my gear.5Fits my 3dr Quadcopter perfectly and securely.I used this with a 3DR solo quadcopter and it was easier than I thought it would be to remove foam and fit my equipment in. I removed the top layer of foam (not used) and only removed foam from bottom layer to fit my equipment. The 2 layers provided, are already sliced almost all the way through in small 1/2 inch cube strips that are the length/thickness of the layer. It holds the quad, 5 batteries, remote controller with FPVLR antennas attached, a 7 inch Nexus tablet, the propellers (which I remove from quad), and two spare props. There is room for another battery or the charger if you care to carry it around. Holds the equipment firmly, and there isn't enough free space for it to bang around at all when lid is closed. I use a loose piece of foam that I removed to put on top of the remote control before closing the lid, and two smaller pieces to hold propellers down in front of quad. See picture.5
