    it made horrible noise. Turned out the grounding wire had been ... The cable's 1/4" housing was disassembled when it arrived. When I plugged it in, it made horrible noise. Turned out the grounding wire had been disconnected from the very poor solder joint at the sleeve. To Amazon's credit, when I requested a return, they simply gave it to me without requiring shipping back. While I appriciate amazon's service in this regard, it demonstrates that this cable is worth less than the cost of shipping, and I would agree. Very poor QC and soldering at the connections. After stripping the cable slightly and completely re-soldering the 1/4" cable I was able to make it function, but I would not recommend this cable. Spend a few more dollars and get something with decent quality, and maybe a warranty. 2Great cable, no issues, high quality. Pyle always, at least in my case, delivers a quality product and this one is no different. I needed this for a specific non-microphone application to interface my Taylor Guitar (ES1.2 version) to a regular TS input jack on a acoustic amp. Used this cable in conjunction with a Hosa Sidekick Passive DI box (actually running it in reverse) to achieve a strong signal to the amp without over running the input. Using the TRS version of this cable in the same methodology produced a signal that was way too strong and over ran the gain stage on the amp.Cable is built well. No issues. 51/4 inch End Funny The cord is allright, as is the price, but quality control leaves something to be desired. The 1/4 inch end came bent at an angle and the metal shielding does not completely fit on the connection. Better off with a standard XLR cable and an adapter. 3Bought 2, 1 was broken upon receipt Overall, the quality seems fine - the disconnect button is a little stiff, but I suppose that's good, since an accidental disconnection is less likely.However, I purchased 2 of these cables, and one of them would only work if the cable was held a certain way. I took apart the XLR connector to find that the ground cable had become loose of it's solder point. I was able to strip and resolder this, but I shouldn't have had to.Also, the 1/4" connector feels cheap and tinny. It still works fine, but it just doesn't have a solid, quality feel to it. 2Not useable Hey, my first mic and first cord, so I'm no expert, but I've never before been on a mic that caused loud "cord handling" pops at the slightest whim. And I doubt it's the new Shure SM58 causing it! Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the cord until after Amazon's return period, and the "warranty" costs twice as much as Amazon's price for the cord.Just for fun today I plugged the chord into the amp with no mic attached - wiggled near the mic connector, lots of static, not as loud as with the mic attached but loud. Then I uncoiled the cord with still no mic and the amp turned on - constant cackling every movement of the cord. For comparison I plugged in my friend's guitar cable by a different brand and coiled and uncoiled that cord and got occasional (rare) cackling from cord handling, nothing like the constant noise from handling this cord.This cord is, in my opinion, trash. I'll sing mic-less at the nursing home rather than take this cord with it's frequent - sometimes constant for a minute! - loud pops and crackles. 1NOT WHAT IT SEEMS! !!! Something should of tipped me off just from the weight of the box. It was too light! !!!! I bought 4 of these so-called 12 gauge wire cables, which should be of some weight and low and behold when I opened the box, I found that the outside housing was very thin. Like cheap XLR 16 - 18 gauge cable which is what I found inside the connections (see the pictures I took).The connections are cheaply made. I'm not even going to test, let alone connect these to my equipment. I'm sending them back and getting a refund!!!!!!!! 1Started cutting out on first day I was hired to tape product promos at a 3-day long convention in Pasadena. I bought this cable a week before the show and was very impressed with its heavy-duty construction. I tested the cable along with my new Behringer Ultravoice XM8500 microphone the night before the show. They worked fabulously. The next morning at the show I tested them again. Fabulous again. My clients all sounded like Pavarotti. But later that afternoon I replayed my final customer's clip and discovered that the audio was dead. I checked the cable and found that the XLR female connector had 1/4 inch of play, in and out. When it was pushed all the way in it worked. When it began to slip out it didn't. I was very fortunate to have discovered the problem before I left the show. I was able to re-record the end of the product promo using a hand-held shotgun mic.It's unfortunate that such a solid cable has an obvious design flaw...Robert Fowler 1Great cord! not good delivery Delivery person left this outside my unlocked gate and my dog found it and tore it open , I have a german shepherd and im lucky the cord itself wasn't broken but would be nice to deliver to front door. That's less than 20 hours of total use. Believe the reviews on here. 2Junk! This cable is junk. I ordered 2 cables. One was DOA and the other broke within minutes. I unscrewed the 1/4 inch jack to check the connection and they were badly corroded. There were only 3 or 4 thin wires soldered to the sleeve connectors and they all snapped off from strain. Very poor design and quality. 1
