Customer Reviews

Strong device Wow, this thing is a beast. It feels nothing like the old homeowner model that it is replacing. The only similarity is the yellow color. You can tell immediately that this is a strong well made device. I'm using it with my gutter leaf grabber and it gives me the rigidity needed for that device. 5Very important tool! This works well for not only painting your house, but attaching Christmas lights to taller trees, etc. I've even used it for getting limbs down from my shed roof. Attaching a roller makes for a nice "arm." 5when extended it is not very stiff. It is ... when extended it is not very stiff. It is rather difficult to apply paint with a roller at full length without overloading the roller, dripping and running all over the place, and just making a mess.if you only need to go over a very small area, it would work ok. Don't plan on using it to paint a large section at full extension. 3Switched from Wooster to Purdy, Made in USA can be overrated. I'm impressed more than I thought I would be. The only knock is that the quick release isn't as quick as Wooster's extension pole but overall this Purdy is waaaayyyyy better. The rubber grip to prevent damage to walls, the lighter weight, more customizable extension instead of preset stops, and the materials are quality. 5Worked Perfect Love this extension pole, It is easy to use and Holds it's position no matter where you put it. I really like the quick release for the roller frame making it very easy to switch from different colors or just to get into tight areas where you don't need the pole. Very good buy and very sturdy pole. 5Great Pole. Goofy Price. I don't mind paying for quality - and there's no denying the quality of this pole. But paying *this* price? I dunno - seems overly high to me. But - candidly - it's the best one I've found by far so... 4Disappointed that "universal" doesn't mean what I thought it meant. Bought this Purdy pole with the "Big-Reach" Pole Hook and it doesn't fit. I thought this was a "universal" fitting. However, the Pole Hook attaches perfectly onto the 4-foot extension pole that I used for painting. So I'm blaming this pole. And I'm bummed about it. Because otherwise the Purdy Pole seems like a great extension pole. Lightweight. Great locking mechanism. But if attachments don't fit then what's the point......... 3Great, but be wary of how large the 4-8 foot pole is. I use this with the "FullCircle Radius360" sander. Works out great for quickly sanding drywall.I would highly recommend getting the 2-4 foot pole for this use case however, as the 4-8 foot pole is far too long in most cases. I intend to purchase the smaller pole at some point. The pole itself is very sturdy, even at full extension, and, while somewhat heavy, still feels fairly light given its size and strength. I have an issue with the lock release being tough to release at times, but a firm grip is all it takes to remedy that. It does not slide when locked, and is easily adjusted to the length desired with the well made locking mechanism.I have yet to use this for painting, but given how sturdy it is, I highly doubt that there would be any problems securely mounting a roller on it.I recommend this, however, do realize that 4-8 foot is much larger than the numbers sound, and buy the appropriate length for your use case. 5Great pole. You can't go wrong As a professional painter in NYC, I carry my tools to every job. And one of the most necessary tools for a painter is a pole. We use it for painting and sanding, so it needs to be convenient and reliable. The purdy power lock matches that criteria.Pros:If you have a purdy handle(I do), then you don't have to untwist to take your handle off. One click and it pops off and you keep moving. The ability to set the extension of the pole to your liking is also a welcome feature. You're not forced to lock in at certain increments. And last. The rubber at the end is very durable and feels good to the hand. Not to mention, if you work small spaces you may have a tendency to hit the wall behind you while using your pole. With that rubber end, at least you won't gouge the wall or hurt someone.Cons:It's a bit heavier than I like, so carrying this pole around with other tools isnt exactly practical. Takes some getting use to. 5Very handy This thing is great. I do wonder if a 3-6' pole would be better, but they only make a 2-4' and 4-8'. I rarely need an 8' extension, but I often go from fairly close work (where 2' is compact enough to not get in the way) to slightly extended (where 4' is sufficient length). So this one extension pole can pretty much stay in place on my roller all the time. 5
