Junk and unstable. While its supposed to be fast the stick I got is incredibly unstable an worthless. Also when trying to copy files on or off it while its quick when it gets almost done with the task the drive disconnects itself from the computer. Also a fyi to any GPD win owners don't buy this as it will not fit without tampering with the black cap on the end instead buy the samsung fit flash drives even if they aren't as fast.1LOST Everything, very sad.Well, I ordered this a few months ago. It had been working okay on my Mac. I've only stored short family video clips on it. It wasn't the fastest, but good enough for what I needed.HOWEVER, I plugged it in today and it's "toast". It has renamed itself to some weird symbol name, and all of my files are GONE. I spent a lot of time researching these things and this one looked the best. The main point is all of my files are LOST, after just a few months. Of course, I hadn't backed it up yet, since my big external hard drive hasn't arrived yet.Any ideas if this thing is restorable or recoverable??? To add to the sting, the return period is over, but more than that, I'd rather have my data back! I haven't contacted PNY yet but I'll try once I get time. I'm just hoping someone on here may have any experience to share with me, or hoping PNY checks these reviews of their products and can shed some light... Super displeased and quite sad at the loss.1I never got 200MB/s, EVER...first off, its 28.8gig!! I see no point to get these as it will take at least 8 time as long to copy files to it. 27gig will take 20 minutesRunning a 2Gig test, the fastest I got reading was 156.6MB/s. Far from the 200MB/s. The Fastest write speed was just over 20MB/s. I bought these to be used in a car DVD player system, that uses USB / SD cards, so I really didn't matter. But it was painful to watch paint dry to copy 32gig of movies. If you are not in a rush and 150MB/s is good enough, then you'll be fine.3Pretty Good DrivePNY Elite X-Fit 128 GB USB 3.0 Flash DriveThe PNY device is advertised as having a read speed of 200MB/s. I will use it as a very portable offsite backup, so my interest is in the write speed, which is not listed in any of the specs posted on Amazon. I'll read from it only if something goes very wrong with my computer.Comparing the PNY with my favorite Corsair Voyager Vega 128 GB, the PNY receives a backup of 28 files containing 84.4 GiB (90,660,076,242 bytes) of already-encrypted data in 43 minutes, while the Corsair collects the same data in 28 minutes. Same computer, same data, same USB III port, minimal competing computer activity. For the PNY, that is a write data rate of about 35 MB/s, and for the Corsair it is about 54 MB/s. Interesting note: the USB II spec is 60 MB/sec theoretical max, so neither quite exceeds the USB II rate even though running in USB III.Copying the 84.4 GiB of files back from the PNY to an extremely fast internal SSD drive took about 9 minutes, for an actual transfer speed of 168 MB/s, reasonably close to the advertised 200 MB/s. The Corsair did the same job in the same time. All copying was done with XCOPY. Who knows - maybe RoboCopy would be faster, but I've never found it to make much difference. Both drives get a little warm, but not hot, while transferring data. Neither gets warm while idle.PNY advantages: Lower cost, comes with a very cool dust cover.Corsair advantages: 50% higher write speed, sweet little drive activity light, slimmer design.5WORKS AS ADVERTISEDSMALL, FAST, COOL RUNNING, DEPENDABLE, AFFORDABLE!I wasted a week trying out the new SANDISK drive first, which burnt myfinger, and kept dropping off of the file tree, each time it overheated. This drive stays cool, and it doesn't even get warm. I just transferred over20 gigs of movie files to it, and no heat at all!5Five StarsRead speeds were clocking at around 210mbps during crystaldiskmark check. Adopted this with Nvidia Shield TV.5Buyer Beware of this product.. test it extensively upon receiving to find defects. It's defective. Not a brand I recommend using. Many of their products have to be fully tested upon receiving. (ill it up to the maximum with large files, or duplicate a large file) I bought this in June last year but it's not until now, almost a year later, that I've started filling it up that I see that there is a problem. Once you store more than a couple of Gigabytes, it will just disconnect while copying files. Reformatting won't work either... So now I've paid a lot of money plus shipping out of the US, for a useless piece of crap. Which won't store more than a fraction of it's capacity.1Hard To Find, Give Me MoreI listen to music in my car and these little flash drives are the best, if you can even find them. One has Country music on it, the others have Rock, Greatest Hits, Oldies, Christmas, etc. I have like 5,000 songs on one and it is only half full. I really don't want to tie up my phone in my car with music. I am looking for more of these to do other things with.5Really bad performance, almost as if it is already dyingBought two 64GB versions of these for the small size. I have a larger 64GB usb 3.0 SanDisk pen drive to boot Linux from a MacBook air but I wanted something smaller. and all I can say: performance on this drive is really bad, reads and writes seem to perform in an intermittent way. An older PNY usb 2.0 pendrive of 2GB performs a lot better than this... This device id is 13fe:6300 which is detected as kingston in case that information is of any use. The SanDisk Ultra CZ48 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (rated slower) with linux that this new drive was supposed to replace performs top notch, booting in a couple of seconds and opening applications like a SSD hard drive, meanwhile this mini pny (kingston) drive takes more than a minute to boot into desktop and opening applications takes minutes, it performs worst than a mechanical hard drive... I haven't opened the second one because I may return it.1A good compromise between speed and safety.I like miniature flash drives because they don't represent a hazard to the computer jack if someone lifts one edge of a laptop. Replacing the jack can be problematic. The downside is that the write performance of this drive isn't stellar. It's competition, however, has the problem of over-heating which can cause permanent damage to the host computer. Because of the unit's small size you have to use string attached labels if you want to be able to identify your use of the device without plugging it in.4
