Customer Reviews

Works good with standard headphones.Works good with standard headphones. Do not use this with headphones with a microphone attached. I have some inexpensive gaming headphones That I have a microphone, that I use sometimes, when my good monitor headphones are being used by a friend when we are recording. So I have to use a different adapter in that instance. But it works great with standard headphones! 4Works like a charm.Effective solution. I have a DAW I use when practicing and/or recording my guitar. At night sometimes, I have to use headphones and rather than buy a new pair of expensive headphones, I used this plug to accommodate our Bose noice cancelling headphones. Works great, sounds excellent... total win. 5Totally worth itThank God someone can make a working stereo 1/4 to stereo 1/8. Before this I had bought 3 versions by Hosa and I tried two and still have the other one. First one didn't work at all, 2nd had buzz. It was just A/C buzz. I thought there was something wrong with my equipment. I plug this thing in and boom, it's clear and of course there's no hum because this wasn't made by a bunch of morons. "Feels good in the hand"... this is a solid piece of equipment, everything fits together snugly and when you plug it in, it feels crisp not all cloggy and clunky like the ones I paid $1.99 for. 5Quality productSo much better quality than other cheap ones. This adapter is surprisingly big and chunky. Added some product images for future shoppers (why is Amazon photo so horrible?). 5This should be a $2 add-on itemBought this for the high reviews, but ultimately my expectations were not met. Item works - sort of. When I plug this into my mixer to listen to my channel 1 or 2 (from turntables+mixer) the sound cuts in and out and I have to position the adapter a certain way to get a clean, crisp sound. This happened for both units I purchased so I'd be surprised if this was a fluke. Also, what I do not like about this unit is that it is "very large". The black - plastic piece sticks out so much that I cannot hook up mics, headphones where access is limited (ie DJ flight cases, AMP flight cases, behind mix board while in the case...etc). 2Most reliable 3.5 to 1/4 adapter I ownI'm a keyboardist and I use these adapters for a lot of different things. All of the other cheap ones I have bought no longer work, this guy I bought four years ago is my only remaining adapter.I came back to buy more and figured I should leave a review. 5Better than competitorsI just gone done reviewing another adapter that was a really P.O.S. and I'm glad I can come now and review the adapter that saved me from dealing with all the other garbage I had bought before this.So I use this to plug my Pro Beats into my Roland drum kit and this is exactly what I needed. The adapter that came with the beats wore out pretty quickly and I had to get a replacement and this has worked perfectly. The sound quality is good. It doesn't separate from the plug in on my kit and although it's a little long it's not nearly as long and in the way as some other adaptors. 5Two Failed Units in One ShipmentI bought two of these, one to use on my electric piano when playing at night, and one for my Yamaha A-S2000 stereo amplifier. When I first tried it on the piano, I was quite impressed as my 3.5mm headphones, which are superior to my 1/4 ones, sounded better. However I noted the piano was a bit muted. I blamed the headphones. Note, "stereo" cannot be well detected with a single instrument input. Then I tried them on my amp. I noticed that while both channels (left and right) play, they are not stereo. I tested the adapters on two different amps, including a $5000+ Luxman amp. Changing the balance between right and left produce no discernible difference as the sound would get pumped into both sides. I tried two amps, three headphones, and both Planet Wave adapters.Upshot: you get sound from both channels, but it is not true stereo. Moving the unit partially out of the plug on occasion produces correct stereo but never for any length of time (more than 5-10 seconds). Balance buttons are rendered useless. Old Beatles recordings with most of the audio track on one channel miserably fail. Even my 7 year old boy would say "you can't hear the singing".Positives:- Good feel- Durable feelNegatives:- not stereo as advertised- false blended channels- inability to open up and fix the short that is causing poor performance (I would be happy to fix the contact points if I could open the unit).Avoid for audiophiles. Avoid for stereo. Good for mono. 1Not as good as I thoughtUse it every Sunday to power my monitor. I connect a 2 RCA to 1/8 inch mini head phone plug into this. That way I play my pedal board through a small powered speaker for monitor. Worked great. I was going to give it 5 stars but it started crackling after a short time. I use duct tape to tape this permanently but shouldn't have too. This is why I wait to submit a review. Originally had this as 5 stars 1Sturdy and Well Made Stereo Adapter PlugWhy is it that it seems whenever you want to or need to attach something to something else, it can t be done without the introduction of some third thing? This is that third thing. This little, stubby plug allows the connection of a 1/8 stereo plug, such as a headphone or MP3 player cord into an existing stereo receptacle such as on a stereo receiver. It is solid and seemingly well made. It clicks firmly into the headphone jack of my Onkyo stereo receiver and stays there until it is pulled out. The quality of the sound is good.So far, no complaints. 4
