Customer Reviews

Great Investment!!!These Phottix Strato TTL Flash Triggers work as advertised. I love them. I have been looking for something like this for a long time so I can shoot with my flash off camera. Most of the ones I looked at were more expensive and they only worked in manual. These work in manual, TTL and Auto. I like to have those options. I have been using them since the first day I got them and they haven't failed once. Love them. No need to spend your money on more expensive triggers. These work great!!!5Good valueGreat! Love them!5Everything they say they areThese are TTL radio frequency triggers. They are simple and straight forward way to get your speedlight off your camera and still have full TTL function. I have done high speed sync with them and my Nikon SB800 flashes. What surprised me was that I can also use them with my SB-80DX flashes and shoot at 8000th of a second. They offer 4 different chanels to work with. They come with batteries and an assorment of connection cables including a ten pin Nikon connection. I have not had an occasion to use them except when I used the remote unit as a cable release while doing shots of the Milky Way. For the price they are hard to beat, and in my view a great value. One final note. I did take mine with me to shoot a portrait while the sun was setting. I used two SB800's and was able to shoot at 200 ISO and 4000th of a second through a white difuser umbrella and get a beautiful portrait. The setting sun became my hair light and was perfectly balanced with the strobes, but a bit warmer color wise.5Amazing!!!They say, "You get what you pay for!" Well, they are right in some ways. For $119.99 you get far more than what you pay for in the case of the Phottix Strato TTL flash trigger set. At least in my experience, this set of triggers has worked flawlessly right out of the box. I put the AA batteries in the units, turned the units on, and set the channel selector,--- and started shooting! I have been a photographer for years; but must admit I am not brilliant in anyway; but Phottix makes that a nonissue. If you can't figure out how to use these triggers, without reading the instruction manual, I would suggest you are bumber than I am! The units are well made, and just exude quality. I love being able to control my off-camera flash unit from the camera. The EV adjustments work great. I must admit that I only got this set yesterday, but I wanted to spread the word that so far these things are amazing!!UPDATE: I continue to be very pleased with this product. I have experimented by using the Phottix TTL triggers in various situations, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other folks.5Canon 7dMkII Adjustment Required.I purchased this item a while back but never really used it. But in preparation for a upcoming shoot, I took it out and began testing it. To my dismay, TTL would not function properly. It would fire the flash, but I had to set the output manually. I was using it with a 7dMkII and a 600EX-RT flash. Not wanting to give up, I continued testing and researching online for answers. On a whim, I took out my T3i and gave it a whirl. Magically, the TTL worked, which told me it was an issue with my 7dMkII and the transmitter. On another whim I tried the 1DX setting on the transmitter and BAM!, TTL worked on my 7dMkII. I am just now beginning to test this out. I will come report back on my results. So far though, great. On another note, I contacted Phottix about this and their initial response was within 12 hrs. I have sent them another request to see if their is a firmware update for this item, to make it compatible with newer camera models. This may not be an issue if you recently purchased your transmitter.4Yooo when I say I love this deviceYooo when I say I love this device! I mean I love it!! It's so straight forward an I can control everything from the Transmitter An the receiver tells the flash... it's Awesome5Which is sad. It really is an excellent piece of equipment ...The Phottix Strato TTL Flash Trigger unfortunately has been discontinued.Which is sad. It really is an excellent piece of equipment for those just learning. The quality is very good and true to their word you can use it straight out of the box. Pretty uncomplicated. I am very technically challenged. I recommend, get an extra receiver once they are all sold, there will not be available.5OK, but ONE channel control onlyThe Phottix Strato flash system is, in my opinion, just OK.It sends the cameras TTL signal to ONE channel. There is no way to separately control power levels if you are using more than one light.Like for instance if you want you key light to be 0.0ev and your fill light to be -0.3ev. This system won't do that. It will send the 0.0ev signal to all lights in channel 1 or whichever of the four channels you have it set to. I don't think they made this clear in their description.I guess you can buy their Odin transmitter which has discrete control, but then if you already have bought the Stratus receivers, the Odin is not compatible with them. I do like these better than the Youngnuo 622 as they have analog controls and there is less buttonology. At some point though, I think I will just have to bite the bullet and by the Pocket Wizard setup with the AC3 Zone controller3Work great!Works perfect. It is TTL but you can set the flash to manual and it works manually also. Not sure if a pre flash is sent out but I usually use on master off camera with a slave and it's a great setup. I would like to be able to adjust all flashes in camera so will upgrade when necessary. Will definitely look at Phottix when I upgrade.5I LOVE my Phottix TTL Flash Trigger Set for CanonI am an amateur photographer with maybe more experience than some. I love the Phottix Strato TTL Flash Trigger Set for Canon. In fact, even though I guarded it closely, I lost my first set and just bought a replacement set. I use a Canon Speedlite 430Xii flash, and the set works perfectly with it. I like the more natural-looking pictures I get with the flash off-set from my camera a bit. I highly recommend the trigger set. Just be sure to set both pieces on the same channel, and be sure to look at the connections on the flash and the receiver and on the camera and the transmitter. I hate to reveal my stupidity, but I tried and tired to get the set to work - to no avail until I finally looked to see the configuration of the posts on each piece of equipment. Wallah! A revelation! I plan actually to play the CD of instructions that comes with the set since I received the new set. I might learn even more about important things.:)5
