Same Size Fit as the LH-61D Lens HoodFour Stars because it is a plastic Lens hood not for the quality. I like it, but ordered the wrong Lens Hood it didn't fit the M. Zuiko 14-42mm ED Lens as I thought it would. It does fit the M. Zuiko 40-150mm R lens and the Zuiko Digital 40-150mm Ed Lens. Attaching no different than the LH-61D lens hood in the base or fitting size. 4Can see the lens when using 14mm focal lengthFirst and foremost, let me say that Olympus should include this with the lens. Come on Olympus! Most people who buy your cameras typically are loyal customers who have been with you a while. spending hundreds of dollars on a lens should include the hood. Having said that, the biggest reason I gave this 3 stars is because at the 14mm focal length (and maybe at 15mm as well), I notice that the hood is just seen at the edges of the photograph. If you make a hood for a particular lens, then you shouldn't see it regardless of what focal length. 3It would s NOT for the 14-42. That being ...It would s NOT for the 14-42. That being said, if I ever buy the 14-150, I ll have a hood. In the mean time, please fix the description and headline. 3Should have listened to previous reviewers: this LH-61C lens ...Should have listened to previous reviewers: this LH-61C lens hood does NOT fit 14-42 lens. Much too large in circumference. I have the II R version. And idea what fits this lens? I have never had an Olympus camera before but noticed none of my lenses came with a hood. I have four. Been able to get hoods for two of the lenses, and thought this was OK for the third. Wrong. It seems to fit my 40-150 but I already have a barrel hood for it; maybe I'll have two to use. 1One caveatIt does the job but is hard to get on and off the lens so I've given up and just leave the hood on all the time. Currently, the only lens I have is the 14-150mm f:4 - 5.6 lens (love the lens, too!) that I leave on the camera all the time, so leaving the hood on all the time is not a problem. 4Excellent hood for 40-150mm and 14-150mm micro 4/3 Olympus zoomsThis is an excellent hood. I use it for Olympus 14-150mm zoom lens and it is a perfect fit. It locks in well, locks onto lens in backward position for storage and there are no problems with wide angle at 14mm. I highly recommend this item. One more comment. Some people complained that this hood does not fit kit 14-42mm zoom. There is a communication problem. This hood is designed for 58mm diameter lens for 4/3 system, not for newer 14-42mm kit zooms for micro 4/3 system with diameter of 40.5 or 37mm, if my memory serves me correctly. We just need to read product description. 5Best price for an essential kitBest price on Amazon at the time for this Olympus hood anywhere online, and it fits perfectly for my M.Zuiko 14-150mm lens. Despite the item description, verify that this is the correct hood for Olympus' 14-42mm lens as I've read at B&H photo that it does not fit the newer 14-42mm lenses. 5I'm a big fan of lens hoods; they not ...I'm a big fan of lens hoods; they not only reduce the circumstances you end up with veiling glare or even actual flare in your photos (and you can *take them off* if you're actively seeking the look of lens flare, after all), they ALSO serve as shock-absorbing bumpers out in front of your lens, so the first thing that hits isn't the mounting ring or the glass element. 5Expensive for a piece of plastic, but worth itI lost my kit lens hood for my Olympus E-510, and I started getting all kinds of problems with lens flare. Using my hand as a lens hood got to be old fast. I needed a replacement and one that fits Olympus lenses. Most generic lens hoods attach to a filter on the lens. That doesn't work too good if the hood is not perfectly round, and you are using a Polaroid filter that you need to rotate. The Olympus lens hood has cutouts in the corner so it doesn't cause vignetting on wide angle lenses. It attaches to the lens, not the filter, so it doesn't rotate with the filter. It's a bit expensive for a piece of plastic, but it's worth it. One thing to keep in mind that I sometimes forget: don't use the lens hood when you're using the built-in flash on a wide angle shot. The hood blocks part of the flash. 3Misleading description, though not false...Like many others here that assumed this hood would fit both the 14-42mm and 40-150mm zoom kit lens options for olympus PEN cameras, I'm disappointed to discover the 14-42 mm lens this hood fits is in fact not the currently available kits lens. I shouldn't be surprised though, since theses lenses are quite different in size. The model number referenced (261501) points to the actual 14-42 mm lens this hood will fit, which was discontinued years ago. Don't get this hood if you want something that will fit multiple lenses that you likely have in your possession. 1
