    Vignettes on Nikon 18-140mm Zoom DX cameras Vignettes Nikon 18-140mm Zoom on DX Cameras. Typical and no surprise. A lot of this non-brand stuff is oversold.It is sturdy and more flexible than the Nikon, So if you can live with black fuzzy corners on your photos....It's cheap enough not to bother to return, and as I'm photographing a couple of hundred students for ID photos, I'm using it. 2This hood does the job of blocking excess light on ... This hood does the job of blocking excess light on lens front, but the bayonet threading does not provide secure engagement. When you twist it into position, the 'snap" is inaudible and barely felt. It doesn't take much to bump to knock this thing off either. So if the fit does not instill confidence that it will remain in position it seems almost pointless. Still, I'll try adding a tiny bit of gaffers tape to hopefully snug it up OR I'll just use it until I lose it... because that seems inevitable. 2Gread Lens Hood for Nikon This lens hood was for Nikon D7100 DSR body with 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens. I originally bought a lens hood for 55mm but it didn't fit and had to return. It took me awhile to find the right fit. The quality is great and we used it for a recent trip to Hawaii. What great picture we took. I would highly recommend the Altura Photo Lens Hood even though this says "Replacement" and you can't beat the price. It will be more and hard to find on the Nikon website.Just a pointer for those buying lens hood, make sure you find the actually size of your lens. Most of the basic lens that comes with the Nikon will be 18-140 and not the 55-300 (which may be additional lens). If you get the 55-300 lens then find according by size. The size will be on the edge of the lens. 5It goes on very easy and comes off with no problems I was a little worried that this wasn't going to fit an 18-140mm lens but it did. It goes on very easy and comes off with no problems. I like that I can reverse it when I'm not using it and it remains on my lens. A Great buy!! 5Perfect Solution Perfect fit on the Nikon 18-140 mm 1:3.5-5.6 G DX VR lens. For some reason the lens hood I received with the camera kit had a threaded mount that was supposed to screw on like a filter. To make matters worse, it didn't fit the threads. This Altura hood with the bayonet mount fits perfectly. It's easy to install and also to reverse and store on the lens when traveling. The quality of this hood is fine. 5Great Lens Hood Especially For The Price!!! Great lens hood and exactly as advertised! Works both normal and inverted (an issue I've had with other off-brand lens hoods) and solid piece of material. Also came with a nice micro-fiber cloth (and can never really have too many of those). Added plus in my opinion is the note included from the CEO with purchase offering the option to reach out to him directly if any problems. Nice touch and shows a company that does want to stand behind their products! 5Good Tulip Lens Hood. Fits firmly and looks great. Used on my Nikon 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR. Reversed it is a bit long on the lens when at 18mm and gets in the way of the zoom band. A small bit of that band is still accessible, so you can use the zoom when it is mounted reversed. It does offer protection to the sides of the barrel when reversed, so all is forgiven. Does a satisfactory job of controlling strong light hitting the lens's front element. Matches the lens. 5I wish I had just bought genuine Nikon This is a sub-par product.The size is correct but the retention mechanism that is molded into the part is not strong enough and it falls off my lens with effectively no effort.I am trying to modify it to work - otherwise it isn't a bad hood. 2Item is compact enough to easily fit into a camera bag but what I especially ... Item is compact enough to easily fit into a camera bag but what I especially like is the fact that you can reverse it so that in can stay on the camera lens and be flush with the end of the lens when your done using it. And, when you want to use it again, simply pull it of, flip it around and slip it right back onto the lens. Quick, easy, and convenient! Protects the lens from glare effectively as well. 5this is the one to get There are a lot of lens hoods out there, and I ordered a different one first. It was a bit less expensive than this I one, but was a screw on not a bayonet mount. I read the reviews of this one and saw that it was a bayonet mount so I ordered it.If g you are looking for a replacement for the official Nikon HB-32, this is definitely the one to get. It went on quickly and even went over the filter I had on the lens. I've got the Nikon 18mm- 10 mm lens and it fits perfectly. Great product. 5
