Great with a speedlight Love this mount / softbox combo. I've had some great photos with this so far. Using this with a basic Younguo flash, and the speed light seems to have plenty of power. 5I love it so much I bought another one... This is actually my second time purchasing this item. I've owned one and have used it several times for portraits with a Canon 600EX-RT & YN-ST-E3 trigger. It's a nice large size that creates diffused, soft light, but it's super compact and light weight when not in use. The whole kit is just a little bit bigger than a soft-sided lunchbox when all packed up. It folds in and out quickly and works great.Just for giggles, I tried to see how large of a modifier I could use on the speedlite bracket. It seemed to do just ok with my 56x12 EZ-Pro Fotodiox strip box during a quick test, but the same type of 48" Octa was too much for the bracket to hold up. I know this is way more than it was designed for, so I'm not complaining. It should work great for smaller soft boxes, and indeed my 24" traditional (non folding) softboxes, snoots, and other lightweight small modifiers work great on it. I only wish the bracket were available as an elinchrom mount in the softbox kits (one is available separately), since I've had to buy a bowens speedring for all of my studio modifiers to work. It's still a great item.*please don't waste your money on the 4-speedlight adapter mount for this... as it's total garbage and most modern speedlites won't even fit on it (see my other review of that item if you're interested)* 5Such a pleasant purchase. Seriously, if you are too lazy, but have to use the softbox, you have to try this! You don't have to arrive at the venue in advance because it doesn't need to be installed at all, and it's smaller and lighter for carrying. You can even clip the speedlite vertically to the base, and the Bowens bracket is designed to be easy for most studio flash accessories! Such a pleasant purchase. 5AMAZING FOR THE PRICE!! I purchased these softboxes what seems like forever ago. (maybe one year ago haha) I've only used them a hand ful of times but i always have an amazing experience with them. I've attached three photos. The outside photos with the woman was done using just 1 of these softboxes and a yonguno 600exrtii! I was at may 1/4 flash power...definitely not 1/1! Then i have a self-portrait where i was just playing with my lighting. I'd recommend these boxes for anyone looking to learn more about flash or even for the full-time photographer who isn't in the position to spend $400 on a single softbox. These will get the job done no questions asked! I hope my review has helped persuade you into purchasing. You won't be disappointed :) oh yeah..the softboxes open and close in like .005 seconds. Literally just pop it open and attack it over the S-Bracket. 5I Would Recommend This The softbox is very, very difficult to fold back without risking bending or breaking the foundation of the box. I tried once and bent the sides quite a bit. It's rather large and is just hanging out in my living room ha. Functionally, though, it does a great job. The baffle and the outer diffuser do a great job at diffusing the light. The flash adapter is also a good solid product that fits my flash well and holds it still/tight.The little carrying case it comes in is very handy to have and now carries my flash unit and all of the accessories (it's a soft carrying case so it doesn't provide much protection). 4Another great, low cost alternative from Neewer (plus my advice for folding down the softbox) I had my eye on an Impact brand softbox for some time, but the price was a deterrent given this is mostly hobby work for me. At a fourth of the cost of the Impact, the Neewer softbox became the obvious choice. I was also impressed by the mount for the flash, which appeared sturdy and clever in its simplicity to allow for wireless flash triggers and other kinds of strobes.Others have complained about folding down the softbox and it is indeed a challenge without the right technique. Once the box is folded into quarters, you'll have a flat triangle. Hold the tip of the triangle (or the end where the flash goes) in your left hand. Place your right hand directly opposite, on the edge where the diffusion panel attaches. Twist the frame by rotating your hands in opposite directions. The frame can only twist one direction, so if it won't budge, twist the other way. Once twisted properly the frame will begin to collapse in on itself, back into the smaller disc that fits into the storage bag. Be sure to keep a firm grip throughout until the frame is stowed in the bag. 5Great product Here are some pictures that maybe help you in installing the s-type to the softbox 5Love this set I loved using this softbox with my speed and strobe lite, really great for wedding photography. Pops up so it's quick to install and use. Masks just the bulb so I can still control the settings in the back. Securely fits inside the bowen mount with the locking jaw clamp. The box and mount seem to be very well made so the quality is definitely there and they help to soften my flashes so much. 5A cheaper set! indecisive between Godox and Neewer, they look too similar from pictures and advertisements, and finally I bought the latter for ten dollars. I really like the compactness of its folding state. From the whole set of SFU-6060 softbox settings, I don't need to spend more than ten dollars. 5My parrot loves it!! Love this softbox. Nice quality. Comes with inner diffusion panel. Everything folds away into that cool bag. Took some pictures with a Canon 600 RT Flash and this softbox. 5
