Customer Reviews

Incredible SUB for under $120!!This thing is incredible and versatile with my small room 5.1 setup. Super HQ for $114!. Solidly built. Bass is really there as it should be and totally adjustable. LFE a huge plus. Customer service was spot on when i asked a question why the auto power LED stayed blue all the time insted of change color when idle. Newly updated. Just does now. Manual has to be updated. Really recommend.5Awesome subwoofer!I got his subwoofer used through the Amazon Warehouse Deals. It arrived without a power cable but I figured that is why I got it for $73. The speaker itself is in very good cosmetic condition. I looked around for a power cord that could work and I found an old power cable from my old computer that worked perfectly. I used an RCA type coax cable to connect it through the LFE connector. At first I really thought there was something wrong as I got this annoying hum. It appeared the speaker was receiving a signal and worked but I could hardly hear anything through the hum. Before I started packing the speaker for return in frustration, I decided to do a little research on the hum and I found a few things that could cause it. When I unplugged the cable from the speaker, the hum disappeared, meaning that the speaker itself was fine. So, I started unplugging connections in sequence to see where the hum would disappear. When I unplugged the receiver's connection to the cable box, the hum disappeared completely. It turned out the cable box has some ground loop currents that the speaker amplified. After the hum was gone, wow! Beautiful sound came from this little subwoofer. It is awesome! Trust me, you would be insane to need anything bigger than this unless you just want to blow your home up or you have an auditorium to fill or you want to make enemies of your neighbors. This is more than enough for your living room! Even at low volumes, the music seems louder because the lower musical zone is filled up. The sound is rich! I love this sub. It also works very well in auto mode.5Apartment dwellers, BEHOLD!!Ok, it's been 4 months since I've purchased this itty-bitty-subbie and I gotta say.....it's absolutely perfect for apartment dwellers. The room size where this thing resides for me is roughly 12 feet wide by 18 feet long?...ish. I'm not gonna measure but for arguments sake, it's a medium size room. 8 foot celling also. I'm typically respectful of my neighbors but today, as I write this review, I've finally let this sub strech it's legs. Wow, not bad at all. I knew I only had maybe 30 minutes to push my luck before my neighbor got home from work so I played a reference track that I had some high hopes for and I thought it did exceptionally good. It was the intro to Time by none other, Pink Floyd. That bass note just rolled out of the sub, across the room, right into my ear holes annnnnd....BAM! Goose bumps. I kept upping the volume to punish this thing and before too long, port huffing came into place. It's a 8 inch sub. 200 watts peak. It's under $130. It's small, but does the trick. Be reasonable with your thinking. 90 percent of the time I'm just watching TV and movies. I was just looking for some bottom end to complement my bookshelf speakers and this did it.....for now anyway. It's placed left of the tv close to a corner, not exactly IN the corner. I don't have mics or room correction or any over the top computer programs, etc. However, I do have ears that work and I know how I like my music to sound. This sub is just perfect for me. Would I enjoy a larger sub that hits below 20hz? Yes. Would my neighbors? Probably not. So taking all things into consideration, this sub is just fine for me. If you're in an apartment/condo or small living space, you have absolutely nothing to lose by purchasing this sub. It arrived when it was supposed to and is packaged well enough to not worry about being damaged in transport. (Splitting hairs here, -1 star for port chuffing. Port huffing? Minus 1 star for blow hole noise at volume)4High quality sound and attrative look.Well made and solid. Super packing design so subwoofer arrived in perfect condition.Love the sound that really replicates the base in a clear and undistorted manner.Recommend buying it, inexpensive and does not sacrifice sound quality when compared to more expensive speakers.5Punches above it s weight.I m really happy with this sub, it pairs nicely with my old bookshelf speakers and sounds really good. I am using this in a small room (12 x10 ) for music only. While listening to my LPs I noticed that the low end was missing. Enter this sub and my added enjoyment of my music. This sub punches above its weight and sounds great playing rock, jazz, blues, and metal.4Very Small footprint. Full sounding.Great for a small system. I have many systems including Giant Subwoofers but this works Great in a spare bedroom.5Didn't Work!Hooked in a line level source thru RCA inputs and no sound was produced. Tested another branded unit thru their RCA inputs and got sound without a problem. Got sold a defective unit and returned without a problem. I have another model monoprice subwoofer that works great. The quality appears really good and surprised the new unit was non functional.1Impressive little subwooferI originally tried to cancel my order when I found out the subwoofer description was not correct, but was too late in doing so. Once the sub arrived I went ahead and tried it and was very impressed with the sound and decided to keep it. It's now set up and integrated into my sound system. Glad I kept it.5Bookshelf speaker Sub onlySmall speaker and small sound. I guess I m a small apartment it would be fine. It s a front firing speaker. I like a non directional subwoofer. I had a hard time finding the right crossover between this sub and my Definitive towers and surrounds. Picked up a 10 Klipshe front and non directional sub. BOOM! There it is. I like low volume but full and clear sound with perfect pitch and balance. The little sub might be a good match for bookshelf speakers but not a big system3Keeping expectations within reason, this itty-bitty subbie is a good value. At this low price ($100<) it's a good value. The sub also offers small size, and nice flexibility in connections. (LFE, low level pre-amp input, and high-level speaker input. nice!) But please don't expect it to measure up to subwoofers with larger cabinets, woofers, more powerful amps, and costing far more. Don't expect this little guy to dig into the lowest bass octaves. And don't expect it to fill a huge room with chest-crushing bass found in today's movies. But it takes up minimal floor space, and in my small room (about 800 cubic feet), placed in a corner, fed high quality bass signals, and teamed with some decent satelite speakers this little woofer sounds great on music. My one gripe is the sub's amp, when set to "auto", takes a few seconds to come alive once the music starts playing.Do I regret buying this little guy? No, within its limitations it does just fine.4
