These tubes work perfectly with my A6000 with 55-210mm E mount zoom lens These tubes work perfectly with my A6000 with 55-210mm E mount zoom lens, I can now take photos much closer to the subject with greater magnification ratio. The automatic part works, though I usually use manual focus, it takes a bit of practice to get used to how to focus - sometime it is easier to move yourself back and forth to find the perfect focus instead of using the focus ring or AF (AF seems to get slower with tubes). For some reason the seller sent me 3 sets of 10mm + 16mm tubes (I expect to get one set only) so I have 6 tubes in total and I had fun using different combinations, I was amazed when I tested stacking all 6 of them - they worked! I was able to focus at a few inches distance! Though the light felt off a lot and I needed to use very high ISO and I don't think I will actually use that combination. 5Does a nice job of converting it into a macro lens with ... Paired these with an a6000 w/ 50mm 1.8 lens. Does a nice job of converting it into a macro lens with some autofocusing ability. It doesn't always nail the focus, and shooting macro is a little more complicated than pointing and shooting. I wish that you could still use the lens to shoot normal pictures when attached, but you can't. Attached you can see the difference in the macro abilities of the lens without and with the lens tubes, and it is quite significant. Will keep it use to shoot wedding rings, etc... 4Awesome!!! I'm using the Sony Alpha a6000 with Zeiss Touit 32mm/1.8f and Meike extension tubes. I'm SO excited about my purchase!! A macro lens for my camera is over a thousand dollars. I can't believe this was under $20 with these results! You need to move forward and backward until it's in focus but there is some minimal auto focus once you're in the right general distance. My lens (Zeiss) doesn't have a zoom - my pictures show the different distances I'm able to get using the extension tubes. (The nails/hand show with no tubes, one tube and 2 tubes. The rose shows one tube and 2 tubes.) The pictures are crisp and the depth of focus looks great. 5Nice accessory for macro photography Very cool and inexpensive way to get macro capabilities on my a5000. I bought these because they have the electrical contacts which allow autofocus and autozoom to be used. They are also easy to put on and take off, so it is nice for walking around and taking a variety of pictures if you have only one lens.So far, I have tried these with the 16-50mm kit lens, and have attached 2 pictures (both are un-cropped and un-edited, taken with both of the tubes attached). 5Recommended for use with Sony NEX cameras I recently purchased this extension tube set for use with my Sony NEX-5N camera. It comes in a cardboard box along with a small instruction booklet. It allows me to use my Sony 18-55mm kit zoom lens to get close up shots at up to about a "1:1 Macro" magnification by reducing the minimum focusing distance significantly. The kit zoom lens is capable of very small apertures, which can be helpful for macro and close-up shooting as these help to increase your depth of field to create sharper images in this range. There are lower-cost extension tubes available in a Sony E-Mount for NEX cameras, however, these usually don't include the electrical contacts like this set does. Without the electrical contacts, most lenses made specifically for the Sony NEX line likely won't work well, as you won't have a way to control the aperture opening. With these Meike automatic extension tubes, it is possible to control the aperture and use the autofocus (although perhaps a little slower focusing than normal) of your Sony NEX lenses through the camera. These extension tubes are also useful for obtaining closer focusing distances while using "legacy" manual focus lenses from other manufacturers. To do this, attach the extension tubes to your NEX camera, then attach your mount adapter, then your legacy lens. You'll have to set the aperture and focus manually if you use this technique, so be sure to only use legacy lenses that have a manual aperture ring. This can be helpful and save you $ if you plan on using your NEX camera with lenses from various lens mounts (Minolta MD, Konica AR, Nikon F, Canon FD, ect.) as you won't need to purchase separate extension tubes for each lens mount that you wish to use. 5Cheap but effective way to enjoy macro photography I enjoy macro photography, but I also enjoy saving money. This very simple device allows me to pursue both passions. It works by moving the lens further from the camera sensor - there's no glass, just empty space and electric contacts. There are two pieces to move the lens 10mm, 16mm, or 26mm (by stacking). Doing so drastically reduces the minimum (and maximum) focus distance of your lens to bring it into a macro range.I've found these to work best with ~20-100mm lenses. Too much smaller/wider brings the focus range too close (with 12mm you have to literally touch the object to the lens) and too much bigger brings it out too far, making it awkward to find the range and hold a steady shot.Attached is a picture of one of the extension tubes, taken with the other, attached to A6300 kit zoom lens at 20mm f/4. 5Best I seen so far beats my 90mm Macro I use on my nikon Very Happy, I am using a Sony a6000 with 55 to 200mm lens. Both the 10mm and 16mm tube in place.Nice clear day, spot auto focus and spot light.. The lens full out 200mm it seems to auto focus from 1.5 ft to 4 ft.I don't know what the focus length now but its close and sharp. Build quality great for the price. 5Didn't focus with Sony A6000 I tried three different Sony lenses on my A6000: A prime 35mm f1.8, an 18-200 telephoto, and the kit lens. None of them would focus, either in manual or automatic mode. Even setting the camera on full manual and trying to steer the lens to focus, I couldn't get any of the lenses anywhere near to sharp. Either this kit was bad, or there's something missing in the instructions. Returned it. 1Great macro when you put your back into it! My quest for a great way to get the occasional macro shots without breaking the bank ends with these. I use a Sony NEX 5N and tried these out with the Sony 50mm F1.8 lens. For the candle pictures included in the review (uncropped), I was able to get the shot of the flaming wick using both tubes on with the camera from about 2-3 inches away. I was able to stabilize it by bracing my fingers on the rim of the candle holder, meaning that it's totally possible to get great shots without complicated tripod setups. With a tripod, you could probably get more amazing shots. The tubes do make the shot darker and you need to crank the F stop up to 10+ to get an easy to work with depth of field. However, compensating for that using slow shutter speed, higher ISO, and maybe a light still produces the same good shots you are used to from your lens. Also AUTOFOCUS... well that doesn't really work the way you would expect it to. The contacts do let the camera communicate with the lens just fine. There are no problems adjusting the shot with the camera interface. However, with the tubes on, the distance your lens can focus changes from a range (that autofocus or in my case the AF assisted manual focus works within) to a point that doesn't really move. Using any autofocus based function with the tubes on is just the camera telling you if that point is in focus or not. Adjusting the focus of the lens manually either does nothing or makes a change too subtle for me to notice. If you want something in focus, crank up your F stop and move the camera closer. The manual focus assist function (mine was in 9.5x zoom mode) in combination with having focus peaking on (camera colors in-focus parts of the picture) makes all the fine adjustments that you need to go through a breeze...mostly. I am going to go have more fun with these. Thanks for reading! 5I'm impressed! Just a bit... Plastic... Well I am impressed. Either go buy a big expensive lens with the word Macro on it. Or buy this kit and turn any basic lens you have into a perfectly fine Macro lens! I did a full review of this on my YouTube channel "Legacy Studio". It felt very very plastic, some metal bits would have really added to these extenders, but having that macro ability WITH auto focus and aperture control immediately surpasses the plastic feeling, and it is sturdy and worth every penny. But truth be told, I'd have paid $20 more for a more solid tube extender. 4
