Customer Reviews

Covers the lens - not much to it Arrived right on time, reasonably priced and do just what they're supposed to. Not really a lot to say about a lens cap other than these are better than the outside-pinch ones if you use hoods. These come with a string, although I can't see a lot of utility in that in and of itself, others may.FWIW - I get the little self-sticking velcro squares and put one on each lens cap, and the hook patch on my strap; haven't lost a cap in 30+ years. They work, they're pretty cheap and the seller ships quick - nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. 3Not worth a penny This cap doesn't stay on the lens nearly as well as the one that came with my camera, the Sony DSC HX300. Must be an old cap from the HX100, which also fell off if you looked at it wrong. This item is a worthless cap with a hole drilled in it, and a flimsy piece of string. I trashed it. I drilled a hole in the original cap, the one that stays on securely, and threaded a sturdy piece of string through the hole and through the neck strap ring. 1Inexpensive but not bad at all! These lens caps are the CHEAPEST here on Amazon...I mean, with Amazon Prime you almost feel as though you are stealing these. This hasn't stopped me from buying several of them however, and I am VERY pleased overall.PROS- Fit snugly (unlike other cheap brands)- No cheap plastic smell- Incredibly cost-effectiveCONS- None so farI bought several of these for lenses that no longer seem to have their caps - I collect old manual focus lenses and many times the lens caps have been lost, broken or their mechanism no longer works. These caps definitely are not of the same quality as canon (thinner and less nice-feeling), but for the price paid I really can't complain!OVERALLHighly recommended! 5Very good for the price! These lens caps are the cheapest here on Amazon...I mean, with Amazon Prime you almost feel as though you are getting them for free! This hasn't stopped me from buying several of them however, and I am VERY pleased overall.PROS- Fit snugly (unlike other cheap brands)- No cheap plastic smell- Incredibly cost-effective- Comes with lens-keeping stringCONS- None so farThis is the 6th Maximal Power lens cap that I have bought for lenses that no longer seem to have their caps - I collect old manual focus lenses and many times the lens caps have been lost, broken or their mechanism no longer works. These caps definitely are not of the same quality as canon (thinner and less nice-feeling), but for the price paid I really can't complain! I'm not a fan of lens-keeping strings, and so the first thing I always do is cut them out! That said, some users will enjoy and use the feature.OVERALLHighly recommended! 5Securely grips lens. Nice cover. I'm a fan of the center pinch style lens caps. This one has a large gripping surface and very securely attaches to the front of the lens. It comes with a 12 inch long attachment string secured to a small hole in the side of the cap. This string can be attached to your camera strap so that you can let the cap dangle while you're shooting without loss. I don't like dangling caps, so I'll probably cut the string off and just pocket the cap while shooting. I bought this cap because I don't want to risk loosing my original Canon cap, which I'll keep in my camera bag as a spare. The center pinch design also works better with the lens hood. Nice value for the money. 5Another splendid lens cap! These lens caps are the cheapest here on Amazon...I mean, with Amazon Prime you almost feel as though you are getting them for free! They are not, however, cheaply made, and I am very pleased overall.PROS- Fit snugly (unlike other cheap brands)- No cheap plastic smell- Incredibly cost-effective- Comes with lens-keeping stringCONS- None so farThis is now the 7th Maximal Power lens cap that I have bought for lenses that no longer seem to have their caps - I collect old manual focus lenses and many times the lens caps have been lost, broken or their mechanism no longer works. These caps definitely are not of the same quality as Canon (thinner and less nice-feeling), but for the price paid I really can't complain! I'm not a fan of lens-keeping strings, and so the first thing I always do is cut them out! That said, some users will enjoy and use the feature. I have yet to encounter a lens that these would not fit on - basically if your lens has filter threads (which I almost guarantee it does), then this lens cap will work.OVERALLHighly recommended - I have purchased 7 of these for the price of one OEM cap - some original Pentax lens caps go for almost $30 online...I can't see how this isn't a good purchase, and the dozens of 5 star reviews (across all sizes) only serve to solidify the reputation of these low-cost wonders. 5Not the best... not the worst... I'm using this on a Sony RX100, to cover my filters that are attached using the Carry Speed threaded magnetic filters. This cap works by creating pressure on the inside rim of the lens/filter. I'm not really crazy about that. I also find that, due to the springs having so much resistance, that sometimes I think I have it on right, but I don't and it pops off. Once it is on, it seems to be on there pretty good. The string that is attached is rather worthless, and *way* too long. It does alright for now, but I'll probably look to find a different cap in the future. 3Cap works great and be sure to read the package I don't know why all lens manufacturers do not use these type of lens caps on their entire lens line. There is no cheaper way to improve contrast and color on your nice lens than to use a hood, but using a hood often makes the lens cap worthless as you cannot put it on or take it off when the cap buttons on only on the side of the cap. The this cap fits perfectly, has a nice action and a hood finish. That said, buy it.As an added bonus be sure to read the horribly translated copy on the back of the package. Considering the cap was made by Maximal Power, I just knew I had to read the back of the package which includes great quotes like:"Excellent product crafts, similar hand feel compared with the original, best price." and "The design of the self-bringing with a hole which can be put a rope through and a lens rope make you find a shelter for the lens cap."No, I didn't just have a stroke while typing... That is a direct quote. 5Fits perfectly for Canon SX20IS I needed a replacement lenscap for a Canon SX20IS. The 49mm size fits almost exactly like the OEM lenscap. In some ways, this one actually works better than the original because of the way you squeeze the handles to detach/attach the lenscap.52mm and 58mm aren't the proper size for a Canon SX20IS. 52mm is a tight fit, and kind of works, but it doesn't fit exactly the same way. 58mm is WAY too big unless you use part of the lens hood, which doesn't make any sense to me.In addition, this comes with a string attached. The OEM one does not. If you want a cheap replacement that fits the same way, try this one. I'm not sure if the SX10IS and SX30IS have the same size, but I'd imagine they probably do.) 5Nice cost effective lens cover I bought this to fit over the neutral density filter from from myOpteka 52mm High Definition Professional 5 Piece Filter Kit includes UV, CPL, FL, ND4 and 10x Macro Lens attached to a Opteka 52mm Lens Adapter for Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 Digital Camera (Black) so that this could be left on my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 10.1 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD - Black without scratching the lens. It works well and adds protection to the whole camera lens too. It is easily fitted and removed using thumb and finger of one hand. Recommended. 5
