Customer Reviews

Very durable locks for outdoors! I was very happy when I got these locks and saw how durable they were. They are thicker than standard locks, have covers over the lock hole to protect it from moisture and feel very sturdy. 5Heavy Duty Lock, but NOT weatherproof!Bought this lock for a snowmobile trailer. Wanted a lock that had a rubberized sleeve that might be nicer to the trailer's exterior as it banged around during hauling. Also wanted weatherproofing from rain, snow, etc. This lock is indeed Master Lock tough, and has a protective jacket, but the cover that goes over the keyhole has a drain hole in it, and the flap is flush with the jacket, so even if you flip the lock bottom side up, rain and snow are still getting in there. Once the rain gets in there and freezes, key doesn't go in, no access until you unfreeze. For a snowmobile trailer I'd recommend the Master Locks that have a round cover that goes over the key area...3Good locks These work very well and last years. Ive had my other set on my trailer for about 3-4 years now. Only giving this set 4 stars because only one lock came with a lock cover. The packers need to pay attention, because these fall off easily when opened. 4They look sturdy and tough They look sturdy and tough. Not sure how long the little flaps that cover the keyhole will last since one of them was already broken when I received it. I'm assuming it opened up and during shipment it moved in the box and it just broke off since it seems a little flimsy. I'm using one of the locks indoors so it's not a big deal.I would suggest taping them up (or something else to hold them shut) for outdoor use to make sure they don't open up if snow or rain are an issue where they will be. 4Great Lock, poor keyhole coverI saw in the reviews that some were missing the keyhole covers and I just thought they had gotten unlucky. Sure enough when I ordered and received mine, I was missing two of the keyhole covers. The lock is still a great luck, it opens and closes easily and I like that it has a rubber coating because I use it to lock up my paddle boards and I don't have to worry about the lock damaging a board.2Buyer Beware- Missing the moisture seal on 3 out of the 4 locksMissing the moisture seal on 3 out of the 4 locks. I need theses for tool boxes that will be out in all weather so these moisture seals are a big reason I bought these. But they are missing from all but 1 of them. If I didn't need to have my tools locked right now I would send them back for a refund.1Not ideal for exposed exterior sites subject to freezing temperatures. Our new Master Lock Magnum padlocks froze solid the very first time they were exposed to freezing temperatures. The locks were used on an outdoor storage shed that contained safety equipment. We had to resort to alcohol and a torch to open the lock. These padlocks replaced three Master Lock brand padlocks that were used continuously in the same location for 20 yeas and never froze. From the description: "...moisture seals and covered keyway provide added weather protection". In my opinion this is pure marketing BS as these features allowed it to collect water inside the padlock. This should easily have been detected and fixed in product testing if they do such testing. The only good news is that the case and body did not melt when we heated the padlock to thaw it.1Key hole covers are junkThese locks are nice except for the cover for the key hole. I bought these because they are supposed to have a cover for the key hole to keep out sand/mud and debris. When they arrived 3 of the 4 key hole covers were missing. The one that still had a cover won t last because they are flimsy junk. DON T buy if you need the key hole covered!3Best all weather padlocksI bought these as a replacement for some store brand all weather padlocks that weren't holding up in cold weather worth a darn. No one wants to come home from a long day at work and not be able to get through their gate because of a frozen padlock. I cannot recommend these Master locks strongly enough if you need weatherproof locks for a cold climate. These have been through snow, several bouts of freezing rain, and temperatures as low as -30 degrees without the wind chill, and I've yet to have a problem. I'm very glad I bought these.5Great price for what you getI liked that they seem to be weatherproof as much as feasible. I like that it's Master-Lock. Fairly bulletproof. I like that this set has 1 key for all 4 locks and I think I received 3-4 keys. Gave one to my son incase I lost mine, which I have been known to do if they aren't on my keyring. Just a good product all around. I recommend them.5Works as advertisedThis is my third set of these 4-pack weather resistant locks. I have several fenced in lots we use them at plus an outside ski locker at a local ski resort, which in my mind is the true test of how well they hold up to the elements. There, they are subject to constant snow making, rough winter elements and lots of freeze/thaw situations. My kid and are in that locker numerous times a day and never had an issue opening or closing them. Having said that, I do lube them from both ends with a Wurth spray product that keeps the guts slick but still, they hold up very well. Just don't be too rough on the small plastic lock cap, they will fall off and are a bit of a pain to get back on.5Wow!!Wow! What a deal on these monsters. Got 2 for less then the Price of 1 at the Big Box Store. Check out the photos. I posted some comparisons.5Solid sturdy locksThe locks seem solid and I like that they are genuine Master Locks, but the first time I unlocked them the shackle seemed to stick a little when it popped out. I sprayed some WD 40 into the mechanism and now they open smooth.11/6/17 Update: The plastic laminated cover on the lock seems to be separating on the bottom. Hasn't affected the lock performance yet.4The lock mechanism still work fine so hopefully that won't change They work okay. Part of the rubber/plastic housing pops up now, and the bottom lock cover doesn't stay in very well. It happened on both that I use outside after about 4 to 6 months of usage. I cleaned them and used a tight wrap of electrical tape to keep the housings together. Seems to work okay. The lock mechanism still work fine so hopefully that won't change. 4
