Just get them now. 1st than anything I'm not getting a penny for this review.But when you find a great and easy to use product it really deserves my preach.Never, never never in my days dealing with smart devices i ever found amore easy to install and integrate with alexa as this one, no even the Amazon (witch is xtremely easy) is so easy to operate as this set of lights, i got he 4 pack just to see how good or bad they're,and guess what ? I even order another set of 4 and debating if i should get another one. Is easy to install, operate, the 8ntegration with alexa is a breeze, in less than 15 minutes everything was set, and i already have like 8 different routines set up. You Can turn on- off, change color, brightness, each light individually or as a group all with the cellphone or with your voice, and so far has been flawless.Note: i just been less than 1 hour with this set,i cannot speak about longevity or long term review, but so far I'm totally impressed with this set.If something change on my impressions on this set I'd update the review.5Awesome - Especially for New Mom sThis light is amazing! We will be adding these to more rooms in our house!5Great choice for an inexpensive wake-up light that doesn't need a hubI've been wanting a light that slowly turns on in the morning to help me wake up, that also has the following features:1. Allows different scheduling for weekdays/weekends2. Connects directly via wifi and does not require a smart home hub3. Remembers its settings (including schedule) after power loss4. Compliments my existing audible wake-up alarm (as in, I'll continue to rely on my real alarm to ensure I get up... the light becomes a nice enhancement)5. Bright enough that it doesn't have to be right next to my bedI'm pleased to share that this bulb meets all these requirements wonderfully. The only issue around power loss is that when power is restored, the light defaults to full-on and you then have to manually turn it off. Not really a flaw but worth being aware of.You'll notice that my attached photos are not of the actual bulb, as that's not what really differentiates smart bulbs these days. Instead, it's the app that makes all the difference, and in this case the app works great. See the screenshots where I've been able to specify the following:-run schedule on weekdays only-from 5am to 5:45am change the light bulb's brightness from 0% to 100%-at 6am, turn the light offThus far, a solid 10/10 for my needs. We'll see how reliability goes over time.5Fantastic value. Surprisingly feature-packed! Great saturated colors and bright warm white light.I am a lighting designer. I purchased these after a disappointing Philips Hue experience. These bulbs are not as fully featured as much more costly Hue bulbs, but surpass in other important aspects. Unlike the Hue, they have a green and more vibrant blue LED's, which means many more colors you are able to achieve. They also recall their last color or function after a power cut, so you can use them on a switch or external timer without the bulbs resetting themselves. They have two modes, color mixing and white that each use a separate set of LED's. The white LED's have a pleasing slightly warn color temperature and are reasonably bright. You can also replicate a variety of white color temperatures with the color mixing mode, though they will not be as bright as the white LED's. You are not able to mix the white and RGB LED's, likely due to additional power requirements. If you are clever, the fairly basic app will permit you to create both subtle and dynamic animation effects with some limitations. The music function will pull tracks from your iPhone and does a better-than-decent job of animating your lights to the music, understanding that any automated lights-to-music effect is not something easily done by even professional equipment. This is most effective with multiple bulbs and can be quite fun to play with. It's not a very subtle effect if that is of interest.A BONUS feature due to the bulbs natural ability to recall their last running state or program: You can select or create a looping program effect that will remain in the on-board memory without a controller or wifi network. There is a lot of fun potential for this sort of scenario.Additionally, I have these suggestions for BASIC improvements to the app:-Ability to select SAVED colors within CUSTOMS mode.-Ability to save SCENES (unique settings for MULTIPLE lights).-Save MORE than 5 favorite colors? It would be helpful if you were able to save CURRENT color, rather than having to select the color once again in order to save it.-FAST speed options for JUMP. This would be helpful for creating custom strobe effects where the light does not turn off in between strobe light. (see below)-Ability to alternately select the warm white LED's in the CUSTOMS mode.Perhaps, a more complex CUSTOMS feature:-A STROBE mode that keeps the bulb illuminated with one color, and STROBES with another color.-A Random mode that staggers the CUSTOMS mode across all your bulbs. (This effect can currently be created manually, but is more labor intensive)These bulbs are really a phenomenal value, that would only increase with greater control options.Update:I've been working with them now for many months. They perform flawlessly so far, but the app, even their new Magic Light app, suffer from some functionality issues. Some of this may be due to limitations with the bulbs. I've discovered that when creating a CUSTOM program, that the fade timing from one color to the next- within the 16 available steps, appears to be based on how far numerically the RGB values are from one step to the next. This can result in widely inconsistent fade speeds which can be very frustrating. Maybe I'm asking too much from the technology. The new MagicLight WF app's NIGHT-LIGHT function is a great idea in theory, except that the cool and warm color temperatures are not as nearly as accurate as you can create using the COLORS function. They appear to have programmed the warm and cool white color temperatures mathematically, not visually. The good news is that you can actually get a pretty great range of neutral whites, just not with the mode that is intended for creating them. If there was the ability to add IFTTT accessibility, that would open up these lamps to a world of applications. I'm not sure if that could be done within the bulbs or if a separate device would have to act as a hub accessory. That would be of great interest.I've also purchased the 10 watt version. It has 3 additional RGB LED's and 9 more white LED's. It's a marginal upgrade in brightness that may not be noticed in some applications.5Great lights! Easy set up!These lights shipped fast. They work well and do not need a hub to hook up. These were easy to hook up with the app and the add them to my google home for voice control. I have wanted a sunrise alarm clock for a few years now, however, I could never justify spending the money on one. When I got an Alexa this Christmas I figured I should give this lightbulb a try and I m so glad I did!!! It works great. I love the changing colors depending on my mood. I have used the sunrise feature and it turned on at the correct time and got me ready for the day. Setup was not awful, however, not super easy either. I ended up googling the directions to make it easier For myself when I got stuck. I would say if you want to try the sunrise alarm clock this is a wonderful cheaper alternative!5Brighter than older gen ledsSo much brighter than older gen ones. The pack of four is perfect. We do a lot of movie night so these are perfect. Plus I think the special effect are going to be an awesome addition to Halloween.5Simplicity Across Multiple Devices.Reasonably nice wifi bulbs that work well with Alexa....don't have Google Home...so cannot advise on that.Will say, for the price point, these bulbs are very good, and I rather like having all the same brand...much more easily manged via the app. However....the instructions provided with the product refer you to the wrong app. Best advice....pull up the manufacturers website and follow their install instructions.I started with Kasa TP bulbs, and am still using those for two specif applications in my house, will eventually replace with Magic Light product, so everything is controlled by one app....and Alexa...of course.Driving home the other night, I pulled up the app on my (android) mobile and turned on various lamps so my house was ready & waiting for me.....it worked perfectly. But, that also causes me a pauseof concern for just how my mobile provider signal works retroactively via my (fairly) secure wifi network....Otherwise, as stated, the price point here for a bulb that works for normal lighting, and allows for color variations (red, blue, green....RBG) and most variables btetween them is very nice......So this fall I can set my lighting for the trick-or-treaters...and go back to standard lighting just as easily. My Kasa bulbs won't do that....and they are twice the cost.Give these a shot, but I recommend you go for the 60W equivalents and bypass the 40W versions...for a bit more lighting power. The cost delta is minimal.Finally, I grouped all my Magic Lights ...so I can turn everything on ...with one command....nice when you need all lights on in the wee hours of the night...'cuz you never know when that will be useful.....try that by flicking every light switch...manually.These lights work.....on voice command.....very nicely. As for Alexa...she gets a bit pushy on naming...so be wise with your options and keep it simple.5Good product for the money & works with AlexaI got these bulbs to try as an alternative to the Phillips Hue Color bulbs. These don t need a hub to work. It took a little bit for me to get them set up, but I got there. I set them up in my office. Two in the ceiling light and two in a lamp. I followed the instructions to get them set up and it was very easy to set up with Alexa. I named them different things and I can have Alexa control them separately or all at the same time. I can t speak to the longevity sense I just set them up. But as far as the colors and the brightness, they are exactly the same as the Phillips hue bulbs. I probably have spent over 30 minutes setting up the four bulbs where as the Phillips you would not have taken as long. But for the price of getting 4 bulbs for $36 vs one of the same size Phillips Hue for $40, it was definitely worth the time. I m happy with them and would recommend them.5
