My house and 98% LED, I have 3 incandescent bulbs that are the original from when we bought house (closet/basement). I have an unfinished garage, and wanted even lighting for my workbench area. All 16 foot of LEDs are attached via adhesive tape to the bottom chord of the trusses. The result is that my work area is very well lit, the front of the garage is lit enough to navigate through. I'm going to order a couple more and place them in the middle and front so my whole garage is lit like movie production of a spaceship.The lights are exposed to the elements (but it's okay if you are using them in places like closets, garages, etc. They use 3M adhesive attached to the back of the LED strip, which sticks well on wood (I do have some silicone brackets that I can use on these lights ensure it stays on longer on the wood, but so far I don't need them.The lights will work with or without the remote and receiver. So you could plug it to switch-powered outlet and turn in on like any other light switches in the house. You can use one (1) remote on (at least) two (2) separate remote receivers. Like I did, so you could power each (strip) individually, control the brightness and flashing modes (I guess, I could get different colour lights and make my garage into disco room:)Here are two (2) pictures: one is to help show how bright, the other one is when it is off. It was totally dark outside, no other light were on, and on full brightness. 5Perfect for videos! Photos, vanities and more!! Amazing! Love it so much, made a vanity mirror and ring light on my cell phone! 5Easy Install, good quality, nice features, great price. Great light set. The remote is RF(Radio Frequency) controlled vs IR (Infra Red) controlled. This was a nice surprise since previous LED light strip sets I have purchased were IR so you had to make sure the sensor was within Line Of Sight of the remote. This is great to be able to be anywhere in the room with the sensor behind other objects and it still work with no issues.The lights are bright and the 3M backing on this set is really strong even after unpeeling and re-aligning a few times to get the line straight on the underneath side of my shelf where it was mounted. 5So Bright! I bought this item with the 14" Darice quilting hoop to make my own ring lighting system. These lights are amazing! This light strip is so bright even when they are on only 25%. While the max length is about 16 ft you can customize the length by simply trimming them down. These lights can be used for so many purposes whether its in a display case, under kitchen cabinets , under counters for floor lighting or just place around a mirror for a vanity. The only things that might be an issue are the power cord witch is not very long (depending on the purpose may be a good thing) and the adhesive on the back. While it is very sticky I was mounting mine in a spiral pattern around a wood hoop so not all my edges were flat and for longevity I added a bit more adhesive. 5I used it as a vanity lighting and love it! We purchased these lights to go under our cabinets in the kitchen. They do exactly what we wanted. They illuminate just the right amount and since they can be dimmed, I can have as much or as little light as I wish at any given time. I use them with and without the big kitchen light on. At night it's just the right amount of light with all other lights off. My husband attached them to the underside of the cabinets and since they are flat, they aren't visible unless you bend down and look up under the cabinets. So happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend these! 5Love it! Love these lights made a ring light with them it's perfect love that it comes with a remote and you can dim the lights 5Vanity light alternative I love it. It's super bright!! And the lights are white lights not yellow at all. Long enough for me to go around twice. I thought I got the one with a remote but I guess I didn't. When you plug it in it takes like a second or 2 to turn on at first I thought it was broken haha. Very easy to install as well with the adhesive already on the back I didn't have to cut tho because I used it all so didn't need to 5Review update This kit really worked well for my needs. This LED kit went into a small dry bar cabinet set up. I planned for lighting when I installed the cabinets so had an outlet right where I needed it. I did make several cuts to the LED strips and used 24 gauge speaker wire to make the connections from light strips at the bottom to light the counter top to a leaded glass upper cabinet. A run of about 2 1/2 feet. I know how to solder so this was no big deal for me. I still have to wonder how the small extension wire would do anyone any good since it has to plug into the power supply. I would have been much better to have snap on connectors on either end of that extender. I would advise anyone that has to make a separate wire run to purchase more of the white 2 lead connectors if you don't have a soldering iron handy.The remote works great and there are some cool effects. One of which looks like an ultra-fast strobe that might make some folks a little queasy. haUPDATE: I can no longer recommend purchasing this light strip kit. It's just plain unreliable. Mine has been installed for a few months now and has essentially gone insane. I normally leave it on a solid low light setting but less than an hour later, it has switched itself to a higher light setting and switched itself to a different mode, i.e. strobe, slow flash, pulsing flash, etc.I've also had remote "issues" where the remote doesn't respond. Have to remove and reseat the battery and/or play with the remote sensor to get things working again.I'm so glad that I didn't install this as kitchen under cabinet lighting or I'd have to rip everything out and start over again.Spend a few extra bucks on higher quality lighting. This may work well in the short term but in the long run, you'll be glad you spent a little more for more reliable lighting. 2
