Customer Reviews

Entry Level, not worth full list priceHere's an honest review. These are decent. They sound boxy, and the tweeters being 2, aren't really cutting through that much. The woofer really dominates the sound, and even with a blend of different eq's this sound still isn't the best. It's mid heavy on its own and should definitely be paired with higher range speakers or tweeters.I purchased this pair from the warehouse deal section on Amazon for around $8 since I have been curious about the sound of these newer Lanzar's for a few years. For this price, these speakers are fine, work and sound alright, nothing special. Don't expect them to rock out cleanly in your car. They almost sound more like a Midrange, and for. The money you could just purchase a Pyramid Midrange for under $12 each(about the price of these Lanzar's) that's something to think about. For the normal price of $25, they aren't not worth the money, and they should not be considered unless you can purchase them for $10 or less.Buy a pair of Rockford Fosgate's for about $5-10 more if you are looking for musicality (Rockford uses silk dome tweeters and sound really smooth and nice). Not saying Rockford is the only way to go, just price difference is nominal if you are looking for better quality sound or even DS18's are really amazing for the same price range as these.Heck if you can find some Boss or Pyle speakers for around $10 (warehouse deal), I'd recommend those over the Lanzar's for better sound quality.I added a couple of pictures and a video of my work shop set up with an old KLH speaker box customized for car speakers. I have the 6.5in Lanzar's with the Pioneer 4in 2 ways. The Pioneers really helps the high sound quality and pair decently together. Without the Pioneer high range the Lanzar's would be Midrange heavy, as I stated earlier. In the video, I am using a cross over for mids and highs to shine through and a 300hz and below cutting out the low rang and they still sound boxy.If you find them inexpensive, pick them up, why not... Lanzar used to be an amazing and high end company. I have many years of experience with the company in the later 90's early 2000's with their subwoofer's and competitive lines.Unfortunately they are not as quality once they were bought out. I understand that these 6.5 inch speakers are entry level, but they lack sparkle and I've heard Pyle and Boss speakers better than these. One last thought, the magnet isn't that large and the claim that these are 100 Watts RMS per speaker is not a true statement. I believe a fair number should be 45 Watts RMS, if that. The marketing has over hyped these speakers but reality is not on the spec sheet. 3Not good for high volume...For lower end car audio these do sound very good. Nice full sound, decent bass and crisp highs. They cannot handle past half volume on my alpine head unit before distortion kicks in so these get two stars for trying but are extremely over rated. 2Great for stock replacement w/ aftermarket unitI got these on sale and free shipping. Replaced stock factory units. When I got them 1 speaker didn't work at all, so had to re order and return. When finally set up, they sound nice. I don't have an amp hooked up but I think they could handle one nicely. They do provide decent bass with just a 52x4 head unit. The mids and highs are clear from the bass. For dealing with rattles on my rear dash panel, I bought some foam window weatherstriping for $6 and cut some pieces and placed them strategically. Now the rear dash panel doesn't rattle at all. 4Crispy, Clear soundUpon opening them I found one grille cracked but I wasn't gonna use it anyway. Then I installed them and heard one of the speakers sounding like it was already busted, but something said leave the music on and start unscrewing it, and when I did the speaker sound came back. Come to find it was snugged to tight, so I lifted it a little and surprise the sound was great. I would of sent them back thinking it was busted, but it was only snugged down touching the speaker unable to move.(So beware for those who might of sent them back due to the speaker hitting becuz of tightness) But these have a nice sound so far and I'm running them straight off the deck (80X4). I've had some competition 6x9's before and these give a nice crispy, clear sound for the price so far. They not the best but I can't argue either. Atleast not yet. 4Not happy!Bought 2 sets about three months ago, one speaker has already blown running off a 50 watt pioneer deck! Not happy! 1Get what you pay for.As usual, you get what you pay for. One speaker started crackling after barely 2 weeks of use - blown. And unlike a lot of people that use a crappy amplifier or none at all, these are run on a Clarion XC2410 amp that puts out 150w/per channel RMS, which is a perfect match to the claimed 150w RMS of these speakers. 1NOT TO BADnice highs and can handle the power so far. But unfortunately the do not fit stock replacement housing, so all u pickup owners be ware. little cutting and they will work. They are by far worth the $22,. These are the cheapest speakers in my system, but u wouldnt know it.Highly recomendmy 2 complaints would be 1) takes alot of power to push them and 2) hard to get the volume level of speakers to match up with any others in my system. ( their dbs just isnt high enough, in other words not very efficient)after using for 6 months i have decided to donate them, not to say they are bad, just not a good match for my system. Replaceing with some 400watt horn tweets. 3Complete junk. Both died within 1 week after hooking ...Complete junk. Both died within 1 week after hooking up to around 70watts RMS. If you are running these off just a head unit and don't mind overly high speakers, sure they can work. However if these are going into an amp forget it, they're junk. get some real mids. 1the cone is nice type for warpage and they sound OK but really ...These speakers are just OK and a SLIGHT upgrade from stock, the cone is nice type for warpage and they sound OK but really need a 100MFD non polarized capacitor put in series with one of the leads to block the bass from burning them right out, the stated wattage is ridiculous but they will take a stock radio output--best used as mid and highs speaker and forget any warranty---$20 required for return shipping !!!All and all they will perform for mid and highs just fine and the price and quality is fine--just a little misleading on the ratings 3ExcellentGreat product, worked perfectly for what I needed. Really impressed with the quality. Would buy from seller again if I ever needed something again. 5
