Customer Reviews

These don t last even close to the advertised 3000 hours. We bought a Robert Abbey chandelier that required 4 candelabra base bulbs. If only I had known how these Bulbrite lamps would die so quickly I would never have purchased them. I got two at the end March this year so I would have a backup after using one immediately. I had three already. Today we had to replace the first of the two. If I have to do that with the other three, it will mean spending about $90 each year for a light we use mostly just for dinner. This makes me very angry. Since it said that they last 3000 hours, I was willing to bite that bullet for a ten year investment. But current performance tells me I might as well throw money into a hole & light it on fire.1Bright - Don't Expect Any MiraclesI just got these today, and installed them right away. Quick story: These are quite good, but don't expect a miracle.I recently installed a ceiling fan that uses two candelabra bulbs. Well, had I known that candelabra lights were so feeble I never would have ordered and installed this particular ceiling fan. After a coupe runs to the local store, I decided to look for something with a little more juice than what I could find locally. I came across these, and purchased them. They are bright. Brighter than anything I've bought so far. But, I don't think they are worth the money. They are THAT bright, and my pathetic ceiling fan still doesn't throw enough light. The upside is that they are VERY small. Which, under the right circumstances, might be just what you need. These little guys will fit into any tight spot.5All 3 still working after 6 yearsDoing some work on my 15 foot high ceiling, and wanted to pro-actively replace these three bulbs with 3, 1000 lumen dimmable LED bulbs, but wanted to comment on the quality of these bulbs. I installed these bulbs in my living room ceiling fan with light dimmer in September of 2012, and all three are still working. Hope the LED's work as well as these bulbs did. I did notice that the Kelvin rating on these bulbs are 2000K, but I never noticed that they were overly yellow. There were no "super high" light output E12 Candelabra base Dimmable LED bulbs when I bought my ceiling fan in 2012. So I have this huge ceiling fan, for my living room-Dining room "great room" that has three tiny, E12 light bases.I read somewhere that the manufacturers were forced to do this, because of government regulations back in 2012 were forcing them to use these tiny light fixtures to meet some energy conservation standard. Now with LED becoming mainstream, we don't have to worry so much about meeting energy standards, my new LED Dimmable E12 bulbs are 10W each, and supposedly put out 1000 Lumens. Jury is still out on the quality of the new LED bulbs, but since I have the scaffolding in place, now is the time to change the bulbs!Spec's on this bulb state 960 lumens.5Very happy with my purchase as of day 1Day 1 Review: I had some E12 based CFL's in my ceiling fan before and they were abysmal. I've been trying to find something that could at least light up the bedroom in question and 3 of these in my fan definitely did that. After reading other reviews I made sure to never touch the bulb to avoid early burnout. They're very small bulbs so I was leery at first, but as soon as I turned on the light it was apparent how bright these are. Very happy with my purchase as of day 1. Will update on longevity if I encounter issues.5Amazingly brightSaw some concerns about the short life of this product. I have only had for 1 month so I cannot speak to that but see no indicators that it would be any different than the manufacturer's specification. When I first opened the large box, I was dumfounded at the small size of the bulb and was sure I had made a mistake. I was even more dumbfounded when this bulb put out so much more light than the 40w halogen bulbs that were more than twice the size. I intended to go to the 60w halogen but saw this bulb spec had more lumens. I have no doubt about the validity of that claim.I have a ceiling fan with 3 bulbs, not to exceed 180w total. So frustrating they make houses without ceiling lights or wire for a fan/light when fan/lights are almost always inadequate to light a room. These are tiny so will fit almost any fixture and flat out put out the light. They are not so hot on the kelvin to make everything washed out like many others. If they last to spec, then these will be my future bulbs for fans.5Incredibly BrightBought three of these for a new pendant light hanging over our dining room table. They're supposed to take 60-watt bulbs, but if we used normal bulbs as we have with all the ceiling fans in our house (because those came with their own standard 60-watt bulbs) the room would be not be very well lit. With these magical little bad-boys, however, when our new dining room light is on it lights up the entire house. (That's because the dining room, kitchen, and living room are all kind of one connect "great room.") We didn't expect that kind of a difference at all, but we now often turn on our dining room light just to make the experience of being downstairs feel much more alive. As all my ceiling fan lights burn out over time I'm only going to buy these incredibly bright bulbs to replace them. At $10 a bulb, they're pretty pricey, but their quality and amazing brightness totally make it worth the expense. Some people complain of broken filaments upon arrival and if that happens you're supposed to get a replacement. (Some things are defective or break in transport. That's life.)Others complain about a short lifetime for the bulbs. My three have been in for only about 5-6 weeks, and all I'm hoping for is that they last at least a year, especially with how often I use them. If I can squeeze a year out of each bulb, the $10 (each) will still be worth it to me.5Better'n most.............a lot better.I have 3 of these in my Casablanca ceiling fan in my man cave. They have been working fine for a year now; I use the lamp many hours a day and turn it on and off a lot; e.g., when I leave the room for any extended period. I also dim the light with the fan controller when we watch TV in the evening and they seem to put up with the dimming feature very well. Like others here, I have had "short life" issues with some sorry candelabra-base halogen bulbs in bathroom fixtures in the past (Home Depot purchased) but these are doing fine. The controller in the Casablanca always gives a "soft start" each time you turn the lamp on - - - with a quick, incremental (3 or 4-step) build up to max brightness .................. may be a big contributor to improved longevity ..... without the usual big inrush current? Dunno. At any rate, I just got back on this Amazon page to order a couple of spare bulbs....just in case. I kinda believe this manufacturer is a cut or two above others in the industry.5If you are looking for a bright candelabra bulb, look no further!!If you are like me, you've found that nearly all fans on the market right now are using candelabra bulbs. Most are 60W or less and they just don't light up a room like regular bulbs do. So if you are stuck with a dim fan light like I was, these little bulbs are your answer!! They pack over 900 lumens which is what you have to look at to tell how much light a bulb will put out, not wattage. They are equal in wattage to a 60W bulb, so you can use them in place of your dim 60W candelabra bulbs that came with the fan. They are a bit pricey, but are supposed to last longer than regular bulbs. I've only had mine for a week, so I can't speak to their longevity. They are super small...under 2 inches in length and under 1 inch in width, so they will fit pretty much anywhere. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they don't have the option for different colors like bright white instead of soft white, which is what these are. They aren't as yellow looking as I had feared though so overall I'm very happy with them and these are the brightest candelabra bulbs I have found anywhere.4Don't Expect Much More That 1,000 Hours If ThatThese bulbs are advertised to last 3,000 hours. I got less than 1,000 hours out of them and on 2 of them closer to 500 hours. Like other have said the small size was what I needed and the bright white light is great but the cost is unacceptable. If the the bulb was rated 1,000 hours I would have given it 3 stars because of not being a good value. However, false advertising should not even rate one star.1Great bulb, IF IT WOULD STAY in the socketGreat bulb, IF IT WOULD STAY in the socket! There is no clear indication about the difference between the candelabra and mini candelabra base. By the time I figured it out (several trips to Home Depot/ Lowes with this bulb, finally bringing the whole light fixture!!!), Amazon's return policy had expired, even though they sent me paperwork to return it (but the offer had already expired?). The difference between which base it is E11 (mini) vs E12 (regular candelabra) could be CLEARLY shown, which could be helpful.3
