Customer Reviews

Great replacement key fob . Wish I could give it more than 5 starsJust got done programming it for my 2005 dodge truck . I am so glad I purchased it . My last one ran out of batteries and one of the buttons was ticking on it . I decided to replace it with this one . It comes with batteries so I saved some money on that since the replacement battery is like 8 bucks at local parts stores. The programming instructions are a little confusing but you can easily find you tube videos for stem by step programmings instructions .Took me a few tries but was finally able to get it programmed. One thing you have to remember that you can only program these if you already have a working set of key fob . Over all great purchase and I am so happy that I don't have to manually lock and unlock my truck .5Works great!!Works great! Just follow these instructions: 2005 Dodge RamATTENTION: You MUST HAVE one working remote to add one more to the system. If you do not have one working remote right now then these instructions will not work. You will have to have a Locksmith or dealership use a computer to program the first remote for you. Click here to find a Locksmith in your area to program this remote. 1. Enter your vehicle and close all doors. 2. Fasten your seat belt ( fastening the seat belt will cancel any chiming that may confuse you during this programming procedure.) 3. Place key into the ignition. 4. Turn the ignition to the ON position ( DO NOT START THE ENGINE ) 5. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on a working remote. 6. Continue to hold the UNLOCK button, wait at least 4 seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds, then press and hold PANIC button. 7. When a single chime is heard, release both buttons. The chime indicates the system is in program mode. 8. Press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons, simultaneously on the remote to be programmed. 9. A single chime will be heard. The chime indicates the the remote was recognized. 10. Within 4 seconds of hearing the chime, press and release any button on the remote being programmed. 11. A single chime will be heard The chime indicates the remote has been programmed. 12. Repeat steps 8 to 11 for a total of 4 remotes. 13. Turn the ignition to the OFF position or wait 60 seconds to exit program mode.5Happy FobI am giving this three stars because the instructions that came with it was not quite correct. I ended up searching on the web and I found the correct instructions. Note: In order to program the Prob I had to be inside of the vehicle with the doors closed. The directions that came with this item did not explain this nor the instructions on Keyless Option website. My vehicle is a Dodge Ram 1500. Once I had the correct instructions I was able to program my new fob and my existing one to my vehicle.3Patience Pays OffAfter losing one of the two original remotes for my Dodge van, I was delighted to find this compatible item on Amazon. I read the mixed reviews and concluded that it may just be a matter of following programming instructions. My new remote arrived quickly and a little card was included. This card gave a website and instructions how to find programming instructions there.I had already taken note of some helpful Amazon reviews here, and had made note of what to do, but went ahead and read the instructions to which I'd been directed by the seller. On the seller's website, there are two different procedures listed as "Procedure 1" and "Procedure 2". Since "Procedure 2" agreed with what another reviewer had advised, I went with that.I got in my car and it did take me four or five quick runs through the steps before I got the chimes that said I would hear. It is just a matter of reading and trial and error combined with a little patience. The whole thing, even with a few bad tries took me less than five minutes. Now I have a brand new spare remote. Color me happy!504 ram 1500 Instructions completely wrong*INSERT a key into the Ignition and TURN the Ignition to the ON position (just before cranking).*PRESS and HOLD the UNLOCK button on a working remote for four (4) to ten (10) seconds.*While holding the UNLOCK button, PRESS the PANIC button for one (1) second and RELEASE both buttons at the same time. A chime will sound within three (3) seconds to indicate entry into Programming Mode.*PRESS the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on the same remote (ON THE OLD REMOTE) then RELEASE. The Vehicle will chime to indicate that it has recognized the remote.*PRESS and RELEASE the UNLOCK button on the same remote (ON THE OLD REMOTE). The Vehicle will again chime to indicate successful programming of that remote. This (Step MUST be done within 30 seconds of hearing the first chime in Step 3,Within 30 seconds of completing Step 5,)*PRESS the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the next remote (ON THE NEW REMOTE) to be programmed and then RELEASE. You will again hear a chime indicating that the Vehicle has recognized the remote.*PRESS and RELEASE the UNLOCK button on the remote ( ON THE NEW REMOTE AGAIN). The Vehicle will again chime to indicate successful programming of that remote.5Fob link procedure...Fob works but the instructions to link it to my truck were wrong.1) Turn key to on (but not running) and let the system checks run.2) Using the working fob: Press and hold the unlock button for a minimum of 4 seconds and not more than 10. After 4 seconds press the panic button and release both at the same time. Vehicle should chime, indicating it is in program mode.3) Using the new fob: Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. A chime will indicate the fob has been linked. If you don't hear a chime in a few seconds, press and hold the panic button while still holding the lock and unlock buttons down. Listen for the chime and release all three.4) Turn key off to end programming mode. Fobs should now work.I had to do trial and error to find the above sequence and get it to work, but mine now works...2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport4Obviously, not as high grade as what comes from factory - but it works, basically.Obviously not as good as what came with the truck, wasn't expecting that only hoping, one of them really wouldn't fit over the original key fob circuit board and close snugly. It was like stuffing a teeny tiny suitcase by sitting on it with both thumbs , didn't really close. The unlock and lock buttons are sorta weak, maybe internally they have to hit a small inner bud dead on the circuit point - or that little bud is a bit shallow, or off a tiny bit but whatever it is, you have to press exactly in one certain space, not just press the bar anywhere and get the response, as with the factory ones. But, it works in general.3I got it working in spite of the wrong instructions! I do not recommend!Alright I finally got it to work. If the quality is anything like the instructions it will not last very long. First the instructions on the their website are wrong and totally useless. Don't bother trying to call them either as there was no one there just a recorded message saying they were closed. No business hours or when they would be there just that they were closed. After reading all the one STAR reviews that did not give me much info other than they followed the instructions and it still does not work I started reading the 2 STAR reviews and that is where I found out the instructions were wrong. I started following you tube instructions on how to program my New Dodge remote. Since this remote only works if you have an operational remote and I have one then I was in business. I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota and the first you tube video was for a 2003 Dodge Dakota. I followed the instructions and it did not work for my 2002. I went on to the next you tube video which only stipulated it was for programming a Dodge but did not specify the year or model BUT by following this you tube video I got it to partially work. It would lock but not unlock and the panic button would not work. So I tried again and this time I pressed the unlock button on the new remote after entering the program mode from my old remote and this time the unlock feature worked but the other two did not. Seeing that I was onto something I tried a third time and was successful. Here is what I did on my 2002 Dodge Dakota.1) put key in ignition and turned key to the on position without cranking the engine with the doors shut (may work with door open but did not try it that way).2) Held down the unlock button on the old remote for a minimum of 4 seconds and a maximum of 10 seconds (I did 5 seconds to be safe)3) while still holding down the unlock button I pressed the panic button for at least 1 second4) I released both buttons at the same and that sounded a beep to indicate I was in program mode5) Within 30 seconds I pressed one of the buttons on the new key fob and heard a beep and tried it and it worked, I then followed the same procedure for the other two buttons on the new key fob.Now seeing two videos on programming the new key fob and the procedures not working for me I basically followed the above procedure that I did not see a video on I was just experimenting so it may or may not work for you. After entering the program mode and getting the beep just experiment and take it one step at a time until you get it figured out.I give this a one Star even though I got it working for it's lack of instructions included with the key fob, The instructions on the website being inaccurate, and the lack of information when you call the 1 -800 number.1Instructions instructions...Works well.Although the instruction is wrong. If you follow the instruction from reviewers on here, there is mine 2 cents:INSERT a key into the Ignition and TURN the Ignition to the ON position (just before cranking).PRESS and HOLD the UNLOCK button on a working remote for four (4) to ten (10) seconds. While holding the UNLOCK button, PRESS the PANIC button for one (1) second and RELEASE both buttons at the same time. A chime will sound within three (3) seconds to indicate entry into Programming Mode. Then:PRESS the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on the same remote (ON THE OLD REMOTE) then RELEASE. The Vehicle will chime to indicate that it has recognized the remote.PRESS and RELEASE the UNLOCK button on the same remote (ON THE OLD REMOTE). The Vehicle will again chime to indicate successful programming of that remote. This Step MUST be done within 30 seconds of hearing the first chime in Step 3.Within 30 seconds of completing Step 5, PRESS the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the next remote (ON THE NEW REMOTE) to be programmed and then RELEASE. You will again hear a chime indicating that the Vehicle has recognized the remote.PRESS and RELEASE the UNLOCK button on the remote ( ON THE NEW REMOTE AGAIN). The Vehicle will again chime to indicate successful programming of that remote. Then you're done!Good luck!4Correct programing instructions.Works good, programming info was wrong, actually do this. Get in the truck, fasten the seat belt (don't want additional dings) power t the key in and turn the key on, but not all the way to start.. On the currently working remote hold down the unlock for 4 seconds, keep holding and also press the panic button. Wait for a ding, then release. Next press the unlock and lock buttons at the smae time on the new remote, another ding. Then hit either lock or unlock on the new remote and programming is complete. Turn ignition off.5
