Customer Reviews

Can t get it to workIt appears to be a quality item. My problem is I can t program it successfully. I follow the procedures and hear the beeps at the right time but it does not work. Right now it s just a paperweight.2Worked Perfect on the First tryWorked Perfect on the First try. 2005 Buick Rendezvous. Awesome Product easy programming literally took 2 minutes or less and every function works5Works like original, great priceBattery on factory remote died, and mount for key ring had broken off so I figured why not just replace the remote? They were so cheap I bought two to cover both. Programming them was easy, they came with a card that listed a URL with directions. Instructions said they did not control driver settings on the stereo, but we'd already replaced it with something that didn't do that anyway, so no loss.5I added a second one for hubby...and disconnected the original.....however.......we added one for my husband to have.. when we programmed the new one in.. it disconnected the original.... WHAT??HOWEVER...we did not know you have to do it quickly..... we took it to Key One.. and in 30 seconds.. he had it all fixed... dummy us.only cost us 15.00.. I was glad to have it all working again... but the key fob works great.. I was surprised and relieved I did not have to put a small fortune to get a second one....had no idea you could get them anywhere other then the car dealership.5Easy to programThis worked great and was easy to program. If you have more than one, be sure to program them all at the same time because the vehicle will change it's internal code each time you enter the programming cycle.5Quick and easy programming, perfect tool for finding lost Oldsmobile at WalmartThe original remote for the Silhouette had broken years ago, I hated getting the key out to open side sliding doors and the hatch every time I wanted to load something, but a replacement original costs half my annual salary. Then, I found this on Amazon. Got it, took me not even ten minutes to program it to my Oldsmobile, and it's been perfect for over half a year now. Best $20 (not even) I've spent in a long time. Oh... I'm 77 -- if I can program it, so can you.5Works!Replacement for a lost OEM key fob that still worked, except that 17 years had worn through the plastic where it attached to my keyring. Identical to the original. Reprogramming worked exactly as described, with instructions on a website. I displayed the instructions on my phone and within a minute had my locking and unlocking all set up. Dirt cheap, too. The dealer & local car parts places quoted over $100 for this thing.5Works perfectly: but do some quick research 1stWorks perfectly. Was stupid easy to program. Just goto ProgramYourRemote, make sure you select your correct make/model car and follow the instructions precisely. My suggestion before purchasing is:1. If you have the original key fob, use the s/n on the back of the fob. Verify Amazon sells that fob for your car. Or if you do not have the original fob contact a dealer to obtain the correct s/n.2. Goto the above site and verify that you can program the remote yourself. There is a description for each car whether or not your key Fob can be programmed by your car (meaning some cars do not have the capability). The description will clearly state whether "you CAN or can NOT" program the fob to your car. If not, then you may have to visit a locksmith to do it for you.5Works flawlessly if you make sure your vehicle is compatable.Research your vehicle first! The use of this remote depends on your vehicle. It's not really the seller's job to check compatibility for your personal car and sometimes there may be issues. Most of the 1 star reviews you see for this remote are because buyers did not perform their due diligence and check on their vehicle. My remote even came with a little card that has a website where you pick your vehicle and check the instructions. I think it was programyourremote.com so you should check there before buying.Even having to get a locksmith to program it for me the overall price was still great compared to some dealership solutions. So far the battery is still good after a few months and it can be replaced. My only gripe is that the shell can be hard to open sometimes (I suppose that's a positive because the rubber seal keeps water away from the circuit board). I found sticking a butter knife in the notch and twisting works best.A few things I learned:My vehicle does not have an onboard system to link remotes. I think it may also have something to do with the fact there is no transponder in my actual key. So I had to take it to a locksmith and have it linked for like $20 bucks. Not the seller's problem. You could probably have a dealership do it, but I wanted to support my local locksmith... plus yours is probably cheaper too. Just call and ask if they have the right equipment. Not all car fobs are the same though: I called two and only one could do my vehicle's style. I was done in about 5 minutes. The same locksmith and research online told me to check my VIN. Apparently my make and model VIN can start with a 1 or a 2 or a 3. On my car only VINs starting with a 1 can be reprogrammed like this, because 1 means it the vehicle was made for the American market. VINs that start with a different number are apparently made for foreign markets like Canada. Also, if I lock my vehicle with the fob it activates the alarm system. However, my key doesn't have a transponder, so it will not de-activate until I actually crank the car. There's a little time and the vehicle makes a soft "ding" noise if the alarm is active and the door is open. But if you lock your vehicle with the fob and your key does not have a transponder: try to remember to unlock it with the remote. The alarm hasn't gone off on me yet but it probably will if I ever take too long. This alarm issue is not a problem with the remote, just the way my vehicle's keys are set up.Overall going this route was cheaper than buying at a dealership. But you have to do the research on your own car first.5Poorly Made / Feels CheapI made the mistake of opening to check if the battery was inside and the metal part that holds that battery popped out. I wasn t able to get it to sit correctly again and working. Item feels super cheap and poorly made I can t see this lasting more then a month.1
