Better than soldering my old mouseAfter a while, Logitech mice register single clicks as double clicks, making them useless. There are helpful suggestions all over the Internet but they include complete disassembly and even soldering. My solution was to buy a Kensington Pro. It is a bit smaller than my defective Logitech, which I don't like but my wife and kids prefer. I have to click it rather than wiggle it to wake up my PC, but I can adapt to that. The bottom line is that it's working better than my last mouse for less money. 5Great first... 8 mos later....I bought this for work and I absolutely loved it at first. It s very comfortable had great response time; Loved the color. Now 8 mos later it s clear something has shorted out internally. The response time is SO SLOW!! I tried changing the batteries, nothing changed. I find myself constantly slamming it around to get it to respond in the middle of tasks. Super annoying. Went back to my old Logitech one for now. Unless you want to replace your mouse every 6-12 months, I don t recommend this product. 22 Generations and Less Impressed...So, I have purchased this mouse twice. The first time was in green about 4 years ago. I have used it every Monday-Friday at work for 4 years as a graphic designer and have fallen in love with the simplicity of this mouse and how it fits in my hand. When my green one started to near the end of its days, I decided to purchase the same mouse again, just in blue. When my blue mouse arrived, I was thrilled, though a little sad to part with my long-time companion. Though this mouse is essentially the same, I have noticed one glaring difference; THE SLEEP MODE. I despise this feature. After so much time of inactivity, the mouse requires a click (not a movement like most logical pieces of technology) to reawaken. I have also noticed that this mouse will occasionally glitch and the pointer will jump to another spot on my screen. I am very disappointed by these features and glitches. I am hoping to get used to it over time, but am not holding my breath. 3Capable of working with MacbookI had been happily using a Logitech Anywhere mouse for several years that was starting to fail. I did not feel like spending a lot of money on a mouse, but did not also want to be stuck with cheap junk. I personally like having the forward and back buttons for the browser, and I am particular about size. I hate the large ones that take up too much footprint - but also dislike the tiny ones that are so uncomfortable to use. This one is very similar to the Anywhere mouse in size which had fit my hand well, but this mouse looks more comfortable than it really is. Despite the curves and shape which appears ergonomic - the simple, flatter shape of the Logitech was much more comfortable to use.If you are an Apple user- out of the box, this mouse is useless for anything other than the major left and right buttons. I had to go download the Steermouse app off the web, and then I was able to program all of the buttons as I wanted. It is very light - but seems sturdy enough. The Logitech was a beast when it came to the battery - draining it every few weeks. Hoping this one lasts longer. The receiver is nice and small - like all the other nano receivers out there. For the price - it's hard to go wrong with this one. 4I Really Dislike The Sleep ModeThis mouse has the feel of an entry level Logitech mouse. The buttons and wheel are just ok. The ergonomics for me were decent. I bought it to use with my laptop. I thought the red would look really nice with my red laptop, and it does.Where it loses a couple of stars is that inane and pointless power saving sleep mode nonsense. Nothing more annoying than having to click to "wake up" the mouse and have it click something open on your computer. Having to make a point of remembering to leave the mouse pointer in a "safe" position on the screen if your going to leave the computer for a while and have the screen shut off is just dumb. You can't wake it up by just moving it on the mouse pad, you have to actually click a button.I don't use it anymore. I went back to using a Microsoft 4000 series mouse. Some people may not care about the sleep mode, if so it's a decent mouse for the price. I had no problem with it for the month or so I used it. It worked like it is supposed to. 3Avoid like the plague. Something shorts out internally! If I could give it zero stars, I would. Got it, liked it at first for about a month. Two days after I can return it, it started acting funny. Then this evening I pulled the batteries out to see if maybe I needed new ones. Put new ones (just plain ole' Energizer alkalines) in and they started getting hot. Yes, hot. Pulled them out and tried the old set. Same thing - HOT. Something has shorted out internally. I'm not abusive to the device either so I'm not sure what happened but in my nearly 30 years of owning mice, I've NEVER had one do anything like this, especially after just one month. 1Fatigue-causing mouseHad high hopes based on previous Kensington product experience, but this mouse literally lasted 24 hours before it stopped working. Additionally, if you're used to the low profile of the Apple Magic mouse, this is definitely not the product for you. It sits very high, the indentation for thumbs and fingers constantly makes you feel like you're squeezing the mouse, rather than letting it glide, and quickly caused fatigue in my fingers and wrist. 1Best value for a mouse with side buttons, size is just right.I use this at work for my everyday mouse paired with an HP laptop running Windows 7. It's been almost two months now and I'm still on the original batteries. I searched awhile to find one with side buttons, and this one includes that very nice added feature that isn't always included on inexpensive mice. Good feel, seems reliable. It's pretty much attach and go.About the size: I don't like using a tiny travel mouse while traveling and a larger mouse at my desk. I'd rather use the same mouse in every situation. This "mid-size" is a good option as it is smaller for transporting yet large enough for regular use. I have what I would assume are average sized man hands, 9" between the tip of my thumb and pinky finger on my open hand. The mouse is not too small in my opinion.(Note - I bought this to replace a Microsoft branded travel mouse that was nice, except that the rubber around the wheel eventually stretched to the point where the mouse wasn't usable. This Kensington design seems much better suited to everyday use.) 5But it's super comfortable and extremely easy to set upThe only problem is that it's slow to warm up. I once had a Kensington which was attached to the computer. This is Blue Tooth. I think the Blue Tooth doesn't work that well where I have my computer and I sometimes have to press and press when I start off. But it's super comfortable and extremely easy to set up. I still don't quite know what the buttons are for as they just say forward and back and there is a button on top and I don't know what that's for, so there could be more information about the product when they send it. I can't find the info online either. 4Bad fit for my handPros:--Price (got this on an Amazon Lightning deal)--Color (the blue is snazzy)--Forward/back buttonsCons:--I threw away 3 batteries before I realized you have to press the top button to turn it back on after it goes into sleep mode after a period of inactivity.--This shape is so contoured it's actually hard for me to get a good grip on it. It feels like I'm constantly repositioning it under my hand and/or grasping it really tightly in order to feel like I have good control of it. That feeling has not gone away after several months of using it, unfortunately. I'll be replacing it soon...feel like I gave it its due chance for me to get used to it. 3
