The IST Door Release Unit is an interface that allows the \"door\" pushbutton of an indoor IST I2000 Room Station or Master Station to trigger the IST Door Release Mechanism (electric door strike, sold separately). This enables remote door unlocking from an indoor intercom station. The Door Release Unit mounts into a single-gang box near the door, and wires into the mechanism and the station via standard 16 gauge 2 conductor cable. NOTES: 1. Requires the IST Door Release Mechanism (sold separately). 2. Used only with the IST I2000 system. Not required for the IST RETRO system. In the RETRO system, the door release mechanism is activated by a 12VAC/DC transformer.
