PHENOMENAL sound!- with a BIG trade-off for COMFORT!!!When I first tried these earbuds, I was truly impressed at the quality and range of the sound that was being emitted from such a small package. But after 30 minutes of trying to enjoy what I was hearing, I discovered that the level of comfort was diminishing quite rapidly.iFrogz are, and have been my favorite wireless bluetooth earbuds for a couple of years now, because of the sound quality delivered and ease of use.The Impulse Duo is no less for quality, and the new concept of a dual driver is definitely groundbreaking and an increase in audio range and quality. But the specific design of the Duo's, with the earbuds being offset at an angle makes it difficult to adjust for a comfortable fit while enjoying the full range that they are capable of.The plastic casing of each earbud is bulky and awkward, and tends to irritate the ear canal and periphery of the ear after 30 minutes of use.Suggestion: extend the neck of the earbuds and develop a more "ear-friendly" design that will further extend the casing from the ear of the listener.Though they might protrude from the ear a bit more, they would be much more comfortable to wear, and therefore much more appealing to customers.I LOVE the sound quality of these earbuds! But I can only stand to wear them for no more than a half an hour before they begin to lose their ability to ride comfortably within the ear canal.Overcome this issue, and iFrogz could, and will beat out the competition in quality, comfort, and ease of use.UPDATE 7/15/2019:After surrendering the benefit of the doubt and giving this model of the iFrogz wireless headset more than three weeks before formulating a final opinion, I am hereby doing so without reservation:This model of wireless earbuds is definitely a game changer with its dual driver technology. HOWEVER; They are EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING and PAINFUL to wear for any amount of time.I tried everything from changing the sizes of the rubber boots, to rotating the earbuds within my earcup/canal, with the same results: THEY HURT!Although the sound is ALMOST worth soldiering the pain, at the end of the day I was left with extremely irritated ears, and with serious doubt about this product. The oddly rectangular shaped housing for the "dual driver" is far too large, and too close to the earbud stem to achieve ANY level of comfort by the wearer. This makes for a frustrating period of time of adjusting the earbuds for comfort, snug fit, and finding that "sweet spot" which delivers the best of the best sound. But that NEVER came to fruition due to the poor design of these earbuds. I found myself faced with a choice between great sound and an uncomfortable fit- or crappy sound with a momentarily comfortable fit at best.iFrogz - your previous model of earbuds (iFrogz Impulse) sound AWESOME, and I use them every day, although they are over 3 years old! I had very high hopes for your "Impulse Duo's", but was sadly disappointed with its sacrifice of comfort for a PHENOMENAL sound! This is a trade-off which is definitely NOT sustainable for your company, and with the rapid change in technologies and copycat manufacturing on the rise, you may have just missed the bus to the land of TRUE GREATNESS with regards to this design. These earbuds ALMOST knocked it out of the park!5Good Quality, Great PriceI've owned many different brands and styles of earbuds over the years, but these are my favorite for general wear and usage. If you're looking for something specialized - top quality sound, a device for long phone conversations, noise cancelling, etc - then these might not be what you're looking for. However, these earbuds are a "jack of all trades", they check all of the boxes for what I would call "normal" wear: good quality sound, excellent connectivity and user-friendliness, lightweight, a decent microphone for phone use - better than my LG Tone Ultras, or so my friends say - solid battery life, and the magnetic clip is a really handy feature (you can use it to both clamp the wires for storage and clip to your shirt collar.I reserve 5-star ratings for products that (1) do everything they're designed for well and (2) that I would buy again and again. That's why I give these a 5-star rating.5Poor connectivity even when I am right next to the ...Cons1.The color is chipping off2. Poor connectivity even when I am right next to the phone let alone go to another room3. Battery life is very sad, wouldn't even last me longProsThe sound quality is very goodPeople can hear me well on the other side of the call when I am making or receiving callsOverall disappointed with the build and the connectivities issues and not really able to enjoy the good sound it s able to deliver.2Great sound, battery life meh.(update after 4 months)No longer charges. Would not recommend.----------------Do like these a lot.Bought them to work with my running watch (FR645), the low power of the watch has caused trouble with other Bluetooth ears, but thanks to this design with a Bluetooth hub, the connection has been stellar.Sound quality is great. The fit is good for sports but not the most comfortable I've had.As others have mentioned, the battery does not last 10hrs, I'm getting 4-5hrs. Especially given the separate hub that could host a bigger battery, this is disappointing. Easily resolved by charging more frequently...2Terribly uncomfortable and sounds isn't as good as previous modelsI used to love this brand of headphones because you could get a legitimately good sounding headphone for under $40. I've been buying them pretty regularly ever since I discovered them, but this new version is just not good. I'd say they're terrible for the following reasons:1. The sound. The sound quality has dropped DRAMATICALLY from previous versions I've bought at the same price point. The bass is incredibly thin in general and the tighter frequencies are non-existent. The higher frequencies are way too prominent creating a tinny, brash sound. There is no depth to the sound at all. It's like listening to a pair of $10 CVS headphones.2. Comfort. These are laughably uncomfortable. The backs of the buds are blocky and do not even remotely fit into your ears naturally. The edges are square and sharp and dig into your ears in minutes. If you look closely at the buds in the product images, you can also see this little nub on what is the bottom portion of the bud when you put it into your ear. It's only juts out about 2 or 3 millimeters, but it's enough to dig into your earlobe. I think it's there to help hold them in place, but it's an absurd design choice and makes these unwearable in my opinion.I'm returning mine and recommend anyone thinking about buying these zoom in on the earbuds themselves and take a close look before making their decision.2SO close to a home runI've been trying for weeks now to get hold of a tolerable pair of headphones. I'm really not an audio snob, but I want to be able to listen to music that sounds half-decent. As a point of reference, I've been content to use the included earbuds that come with iPhones for years now. Unfortunately, Apple seems to have stopped making them with the standard 3.5mm jack now that all their current phones use the lightning port for audio exclusively. I'm still using my 6s, and I'm really not interested in getting that sort.Since I was looking anyway, I thought I'd check how bluetooth earbuds are doing - Apple's are both WAY too expensive and badly designed (I do NOT want 2 unconnected pieces, which means it becomes trivially easy to drop and lose one). It seems that, by and large, wireless earbuds in the ~$25 range (which is all I'm willing to pay for something likely to wear out in ~18 months - in my experience pricier ones do sound better, but don't last any longer) sound about as good as wired ones in the ~$10 range, and fall below my tolerance for mediocre audio quality.I've never heard of iFrogz before, but I found these on a product review after being dissatisfied with my 3rd or 4th try. They sound quite decent - doubtless there are much higher end, but they certainly fall into the range of sufficient for my purposes. The ways in which they miss the mark are in the design. Some of my gripes are pretty minor - as best I can tell, there's no marking indicating which is the left and which the right earbud, so I have to keep reminding myself which way they're supposed to tilt when stuck in my ear. Also, since both cords come out of the control box at the same spot, one always ends up just a LITTLE too short to loop around behind me neck, clipped to my shirt collar, comfortably. Letting it stay in front means either that the control box is waving around in my way, or the cords or pushing up under my jaw (since they keep some curve, spending much of their time coiled up). That said, the flexible magnetic clip, which can be used to keep the cords neat when put away and to keep the controls in place while they're worn, is inspired. If the control box were set inline in a longer right cord, as is fairly typical, they'd be absolutely perfect. If you happen to wear button-down shirts, or maybe even have a breast pocket, most of the time, this gripe probably won't matter to you at all.4Great sound and noise blockingGreat sound and noise blocking. The Bluetooth connection works great. Pairs seamlessly and quickly. However, the range was bad. When i put the wires around my neck on my back of my collar, the sound became choppy with my phone (Pixel) in my front pocket. It is to awkward to hang the buttons in the front for me. I was mowing the lawn and had to clip it to the front of my collar else the sound was too broken up. Once i did that, i could hear the music cleanly and the mower sound was blocked well, better than anything else I've used. I checked that it was a distance and body interference that caused the sound to cut out with different tests and it seems that the unit just can't overcome much. Also, there doesn't appear to be an auto timeout which turns off the unit. I started fully charged and put a book on tape to turn off at 30 mins before falling asleep. When I awoke the battery was dead. It must have stayed connected even though the audio stopped streaming.4My favorite Bluetooth earbudsI bought my original pair over a year ago (Oct 2018) and they have been my favorite earbuds while I'm traveling. The battery life is great -- more than enough to last me on all but ultra-long-haul flights -- and the sound is fantastic. I'm a big believer in the dual-driver concept. Some people might find the connective wires troublesome but I think they're a great convenience. They aren't so long they get in the way but long enough for me to clip the power unit to my shirt pocket. More importantly, it keeps the earpieces together so I never have to worry about one going astray. The whole package is quite small and convenient since the cords wrap up around the battery unit and the magnetic clip is able to keep the whole thing together. My only problem is that the package is SO small and convenient that I sometimes misplaced it when I wasn't disciplined about where I put it while not using it. I'm purchasing a replacement now -- a DIRECT replacement -- mainly because the package seems to have slipped out of my shirt pocket while I wasn't using it last week. That was my fault -- too many things in that pocket at the time and it must have just popped out when I pulled my sweater off.The fact I'm a repeat buyer should be all you need to know about this great set of earbuds.5Great Bluetooth phone set -- just don't lose it!This is actually my second set of Impulse Duo earbuds, and my third set of iFrogs earbuds. The sound is great for the price -- I'm a retired radio disc jockey, so I know good sound. The battery life is excellent, and recharging time is reasonably short. I prefer the wired-Bluetooth design to the "completely wireless" variety because the combined package (Bluetooth receiver/amp clip and two earbuds) is harder to lose than individual wireless earbuds. But that's the only problem with these, or any other, small Bluetooth earbuds -- they're so tiny that they're easily lost or misplaced! That's why this is my third set from iFrogz; while I love the design, they keep disappearing on me. Maybe someday my two previous purchases will turn up, forgotten in a jacket pocket, backpack or somewhere in my car. I can only hope. Meanwhile, I'm doing my best to keep track of this set, because I love to use them when I'm in a restaurant or coffee shop.5Doesn't last 10 hours.I bought these for my husband who sleeps with headphones but hates getting tangled in the wires. These do NOT last 10 hours. After 5-6 hours they start beeping and needing to be charged. Unfortunately, these were set aside as a gift and by the time I knew that the 10 hour battery claim wasn't true, it was too late to return them.1
