Works well, monitor not convenient.Such a cute and handy little back up camera. My trailer is 36 feet long, this worked well for the distance. The flexible hose that the monitor is mounted on is too short and inconvenient. But the portable camera is great, I have used it off to the side of something I was backing towards, to gauge how much distance was left between us. It's magnetic and holds well, but there has to be metal for it to stick to Everything on my trailer is aluminum, lol! 4Camera works perfectly.After reading mixed reviews, I was a bit apprehensive to buy this and give it a try. I took a chance and MAN am I happy with the performance. I use it mostly on the hitch of a long wheel base, 4 door truck to hook up to a utility trailer and it gets a perfect signal. I gave it a try on the back of my 36 foot camper when I backed it into the barn for winter and was amazed that unit sent a clear picture from roughly 50 feet away to the monitor allowing me to back the camper within inches of the rear wall without getting out to look. The only downside is that since it stays in the console, the battery does not last very long. Have replaced it twice since I've owned the camera (but the alternative is running a bunch of wire to hard wire in a camera...been there, done that and replacing a battery is a much better alternative). I would highly recommend this camera for anyone that wants to take the aggravation out of hooking to trailers! 5I have a dead iBall now! But It worked fineHello I have one of these things and so far it works ok I used it on my Ford F150PU to help me when hooking up my Boat trailer. which works ok when the truck is running and it has to be to back up.... the picture on the monitor is well fuzzy sometimes just not really clear! but it works until I forgot to take it off of the back of my tail gate "it has a magnetic base mount" and went to the lake it make it about 1/2 mile before it let go and fell on the road. I didn't notice or know it was missing until I needed it again the next day! I went looking for it " i live on a rural road" I found it and it has some damage not to bad but when I tried to use it no picture would come up? So I was wondering if someone that might read this might have one they are not using let me know @ johnlevon72@gmail.com thanks or write me a noteI must note that I like this unit and it has worked aok up until I let it crash! ok it's great for what it does 4Can't even do the basic job it is supposed to.The only time I got even close to a clear picture from the camera was when the camera was in the cab with me. The second I brought it out of the cab, and closed the door behind me, the picture on the receiver was snowy, grainy, and cut out frequently. This camera doesn't even work as a backup camera, let alone for anything else. In addition, what I could see of my hitch when I tried to use it to connect to my horse trailer was such a poor view that I had to just go back to getting in and out of the truck repeatedly to hook up. Absolutely useless camera, so disappointed. 1Essential toolI pull a cargo trailer with an SUV. This is easy to connect and use. The magnetic base allows me to connect it to the SUV when connecting the trailer and connect it to the back of the trailer when backing. For safety purposes, I always use the camera when backing the trailer. 5Works as described.Before purchasing, I contacted the company regarding some questions I had about this camera. Within a few minutes, I received a detailed reply. I did not receive any responses from other camera makers.This was a gift for my husband, and I was not sure if he would like it. Well, he does! He even took a power adapter he had and attached it to a small motorcycle battery so that he can plug the monitor in and use the camera wherever he can take the battery.The friction between us has decreased to zero while backing and hitching up the different toys he has on trailers. 5Durable, Useful Components, Weak Magnet.This is an excellent device for getting your trailer ball and hitch aligned quickly. The clear wide-angled view shown on the screen makes it possible to get the job done without having to get out of the cab, have a look, get back in, adjust your truck, get back out to see if you are on it, etc...My only complaint is that the magnet is not as effective as it could be in securing the camera to a tailgate. This is for two reasons:1. The magnet is weak.2. The magnet is oriented horizontally in relation to gravity when you stick it on a vertical tailgate. The contact area of the magnet then is too narrow relative to the downward pull of gravity, resulting in the camera dropping off and falling to the asphalt when you go over a bump.That said, there is an easy solution, and also another positive to report.First, the fix:I bought two strong bar magnets and glued them to the weaker magnet with Gorilla Glue. I oriented these at right angles to the supplied magnet. These now really hold well.Now the positive:As you will likely do at some point, if you purchase this device, I drove off the other day with the camera still on the tailgate. For sure, it WILL fall off at some point in your travels, and when I retraced my route to locate what I expected would be the mangled remains of the camera, I was amazed to find it on the opposite side of the road, very scarred up, but still completely functional. As they used to say in the Timex ads, "It took a lickin, and it's still tickin" 4WISH I HAD ORDERED LONG AGOAfter looking at the different back up camera systems out there, I decided I wanted one that was portable so I can use it in different vehicles I own. I also have several different trailers including a box trailer, boat, & travel trailer. after reading the reviews here and on the Iball website I decided to give this a try. Well all I can say is I wish I had bought one of these a looooong time ago. It works great. its s portable and easy to use. It is clear and crisp and I can place the camera in different places and angles. I will agree I think the magnet could be stronger but I haven't had any issues with it moving or anything. Its only been a few months so I can vouch for long term use (although I will later in another review) but so far no issues. I really like the rotation option on the sending unit. I have not any fuzzy interference others may have mentioned.Great product. 5Works extremely wellI had the previous version of the I ball for 6 years and it always performed well. The camera would not power up so I immediately replaced it with this upgraded product. I use it to hitch up to my bumper pull by placing the magnetic camera on the tailgate. The camera rotates on the base so you can adjust the camera to many angles. I also place it on the gooseneck trailer coupler outer tube face down and I can pinpoint the trailer to the ball everytime. I also place it on the rear of a trailer if I am backing into a tight spot and all shows on the brilliant screen in the truck. A truly great product, beats any pickup permanent mounted camera as you can move it where needed. Very satisfied with this product. 5Not fur usWe purchased this camera in order to watch our bicycles on the back of our RV.We tested it initially on our truck and then our RV. The results were the same.When the vehicle was stationary the display was adequate, not great.When the vehicle was in motion, there display was constantly in motion and distorted.We couldn't even make out the picture. It didn't work for backing up the RV either.As soon as we started to move the display became distorted and you couldn't make out anything.I din't notice any issues with Bluetooth interference as some of the other reviewers mentioned.Bluetooth didn't seem to make difference whether it was on or not. It was definitely simple to useand set up. Great idea, just not great for actual use. 2
