Customer Reviews

Another Quality Hosa Cable A rugged, well-made cable. Splits the main out signals from my mixer to two different locations, with quality XLR connectors, that appear to be securely fastened to withstand several connects/disconnects. I've used other Hosa cable products and all have served me well, without problems. 5Hit or miss with this brand The one from this order works, but one of these from another order didn't. The build quality is just not that good. I was able to repair the bad one, then when setting up my equipment had a wire pull in another one. Had to repair that one, too. They are just poorly assembled, but I did like the cable ends enough to just fix and keep them. Do NOT buy the cheap ones that have plastic ends!!!For home use- got for it... if you intend to handle these a fair amount, go with the (far) more expensive name brands. Having a cable fail on a gig would be a disaster... having a cable fail on my home system is not a big deal. 2Great Product for running a clean separate line of audio This Dual splitter works perfect. I own a live event video company and I shoot a lot of weddings. The most important part of video is the audio. you can make anything look good as long as you can get a good clean audio signal. I always say, half of video is audio. For years I used to run a line directly out of the DJ's mixer to get my audio. The issue with doing it that way is during introdustions you will get the music the dj is playing and the words they are speaking. Often though, the signal is to hot, the music is crap, or the dj says something stupid. With just the DJ's voice I can edit the way I want and compress time. This product has improved my productions beyond it's price sold. I use them to run a separate clean audio line from a DJ's wireless systems to my own audio recorder. They work perfectly and haven't failed me once. 5Changes the game For years I'd brought a bigger splitter box and always struggled with the desire to split audio to my multi track zoom h6 and giving the house back an audio feed. I have a couple of these instead and just tap their individual wireless audio receivers and give them back the unadjusted audio feed. I never touch their mixer and just handle my own mix. 5Works like a dream This thing works like a dream. Ideally you don't want to even "hear" splitters and I don't. I tested the signal direct and through this splitter (only using one input) and could not notice a difference! I use these to have a balanced connection (XLR) out of one amp and combine in with another amp going in to only one Pre-Out of a Pre-Amplifier. Said differently-I run two sets of speakers for my rear surrounds in my home theater and with only one pre-amp per speaker I can run both into here and then power both speakers with the two separate amp channels. 5Fantastic I used it to split the sound to have both audio in the classroom and an audio feed to a sound recorder. No issues and the recorded sound is fantastic. Very easy to use and I would recommend it. 5Nice utility, wish it had a little more length on the split cable I bought this XLR splitter to split the lead vocal from FOH to my monitor rack. Used this way it worked great and I never had any problems with signal loss or power issues. I began using a transformer isolated XLR splitter after we started playing bigger venues and no longer use this splitter. My only issue with the Hosa Y splitter is that the cable length from the female connector to the male connectors is very short, so short that it would cause the microphone cables to stick out from the mic stand when I plugged it into our lead singer's microphone. It would be great on a guitar mic or something that's close to the ground, or horizontally placed, but it looks a little funny coming off of a vertical microphone stand. 4Non-Rotting I needed two of these for my balanced stereo system that uses XLR jacks and they came, were plugged in and they worked, and I haven't seen hide nor hair of them behind the rack for maybe two years. Set and Forget. That's what I'm talking about. 5It isn t very durable It does the job, but unfortunately it s not very durable. I ve purchased three. One of the three had a mechanical failure with not much use. 3Working Great if splitting a MONO xlr signal (mic or line) is your goal and you want to do it cheaply and simply then this is perfect. there are expensive pro devices that will supposedly do this more properly and efficiently but unless you're setting up a million dollar show or recording platinum albums this will do the trick just fine imo.note; combining signals is a different matter all together. in that case you do want some sort of transformer isolation device. for instance https://www.amazon.com/Whirlwind-IMCOML-IMP-Level-Combiner/dp/B0007CG5DM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1499831514&sr=8-2&keywords=whirlwind+line+combiner for line level signals. they also make a mic level unit just like it. you could use a y cable that goes dual female to single male to combine but i do not recommend this... proceed at the risk of your equipment!!!but for splitting, have no fear. your signal integrity will be fine and your devices will be safe.the 1.5 foot cable is very short but that is what I wanted.not something i need all the time but great to have in the tool chest for when I do. plan to get one more. 5
