Customer Reviews

Time saving toolI'm glad I bought these pliers. They are such a time saver. I have to deal with rounded rusty rack mount screws from time to time at work, I usually have to get the drill and drill the heads off to get the device I need to take out. I've used these several times to break loose the rusty stripped screws. The head of this is kind of large and may not fit in all spaces but so far has not been an issue.5Great Pliers, excellent quality milling and finishThese pliers are about the same overall size a an 8 inch Linesman or a combo. They do have side cutters and reaming edges. The major difference is the gripping surfaces in the mouth of the pliers which are cut to grip and remove screws and nuts. This means by their very nature they are a bit more delicate, so some extra care is recommended. The handle grips are comfortable with a loop for a lanyard which I thought was a nice touch. The only possible negitive is in shop use the handle grips will accumulate grease and oil.5They are pretty good at what they are intended for, don't use as regular pliers thoughThese are very well finished (I am an engineer so this is something I notice), the quality of the pliers is very clear to me. I love the name, it makes me laugh. They are well made in Japan from what I can tell and they do work well at gripping stripped screw heads to turn them out, more than regular pliers as the jaws are shaped differently for this specific purpose. The teeth are aligned differently & there is a different curvature in the mouth to align with a screw head. Someone thought it through carefully & this is the result of it.I bought them to try out as I usually end up using vise grips on my stripped screw heads anyway, but this looked interesting so I got them for that reason. I will probably alternate between these & vise grips depending on how badly mangled or recessed the head of the screw it & how tightly it is stuck. But I like them.I get no compensation for my reviews, I just like to offer real world experience after I have used the product for a while & not just after I open the box.5Removed Stripped Rack Screws! This tool quickly removed a couple 10-32 equipment rack screws with stripped out Phillips heads. I was in an environment where the metal shavings generated by drilling would be extremely sub-optimal, and these pliers saved the day.The pan head rack screws don t give much surface area for these pliers to grip, and I almost didn t try them because I expected failure. Each screw was out in less than a minute each. Thanks Engineer!Haven t used them long enough to confirm durability, but they feel very solid and tolerances appear very tight. The soft rack screws caused no marks on the jaws. 5These are great - with a minor caveat - and deserve a place in most toolboxesA little smaller than I expected and made from metal (steel?) that is a little softer than I expected. The first time I used the PZ-59 to extract a screw with a stripped head, the pliers' jaws became damaged/dented. So I deducted 1 star for this not-so-great surprise.Other than that minor hiccup, these are comfortable (grips), smooth operating, and extremely useful pliers that I can confidently recommend.I'll probably end up getting the nest larger size to add to my standard fare tool box at some point.4Grabbed a Stripped Phillip's Head Screw with Ease!I am thrilled with these Engineer Neji-saurus RX PZ-59 pliers! I was stumped by a stripped Phillip's head screw that was too small to drill a hole for an extractor bit and came across these pliers while searching for another way to remove it. They grabbed that rounded screw and allowed me to turn it with ease! I will never hassle with an old fashioned extractor bit again unless the screw or bolt is broken and there's nothing to grab. I've already sent links to this product to my friends!5Totally useful I've found this to be a major go-to tool for all sorts of uses I didn't anticipate. I was installing a seat cover in my car, and it turns out, this is basically a hog ring wrench: the curve in the middle of each side of this plier functions perfectly to fasten hog rings. If you don't know what hog rings are (like I didn't until today) you'll really be glad you have this tool when you've learned what a hog ring is and you need to install them. 5They're Vampliers, Don't WorryEngineer Tools is the parent company for Vampliers, don't worry. Vampier Tools are just Neji-Saurus pliers with red handles and English marketing for North America. These do everything the red ones do, and are in fact the original version. So save yourself some money and get the green ones.5Time to Make A Tidy Job of Removing Rusted Screws and FastenersI found this one by chance as I was looking for a good lineman's pliers. I bought it in preparation for when I need to fix some of my cabinets with rusty screws that were soft and stripped out from tightening. In the past I had to completely remove these fasteners with brute force as they were too rusted to be cleanly taken off by a screwdriver, destroying other stuff in the process. This pair of pliers should tidy things up.My first impressions, the engineer pliers was well made. Despite the appearance of the handles having lots of angular corners it does not cause me discomfort, perhaps because they're wrapped in rubber. Pivot action is smooth without being too loose. The sharp knives are completely shut when closed and cut copper wire cleanly. It's great for twisting solid wires but as I expected, was not good twisting stranded wires. I intend to use this just for screw removal as I have other pliers for more heavy duty work. From the looks of it, this Japan made tool will last a good long while. I will update this review if anything to the contrary happens. Overall, I am glad to have found this unique pair of pliers.5Works OK but won't grab everythingI had a stripped screw in a piece of furniture that I needed to remove, because if I had to pull it through it would damage the furniture. I bought this and tried using it on the screw head, which was slightly raised above the surface, yet it would not grasp it well enough to start turning, it just slipped off. I'll keep it around in case I need it but don't buy this under the assumption that you'll be able to loosen anything and everything. The white lettering on the handle rubbed off after gripping the handle for a few minutes. The green handle itself is already showing wear also after trying to break loose the one screw. Doesn't say much about quality.3Quality, well designed pliers for a multitude of usesExcellent tool! If you are a hobbyist, tinkerer, or tradesman, this plier is a great addition to your tool arsenal. It is nicely made, with typical Japanese craftsmanship. The steel appears to be just the right hardness to get the intended jobs done, but not so hard that it is brittle, causing the cutting edge and jaw teeth/serrations to chip off. This tool is a great size and should work well for most work. For this type of tool, it is probably better to have a larger tool rather than one that is too small and fragile for the job. The cutter is excellent with no gaps in the alignment. Notice that there are handy jaw serration to the rear of the hinge point, that are great for pulling and tensioning wires. The only thing I don't like are the over-designed plastic grips - too many right angled corners and decorative embellishments. It does detract from the functionality of the grips, making them less comfortable than they should be. Overall this is still a great tool - highly recommended!5You can pay more but they work the sameI purchased these because I had paid $51.00 for Vampeer pliers and i wanted another pair for my job but these were considerably cheaper in price almost half the price. Well guess what. They are just as good as the vampeer pliers. i actually see very little difference and they are great .......5
