WORRY FREE OUTSIDE LIGHTS-FINALLY!I bought these on Amazon featured deals. I got tired of finding midday that I'd forgotten to shut off the porch lights. Of course this is now Dec. so I was lucky to get a springlike 57 degree day and I washed down the fixtures and installed the bulbs. The front porch had a spiral bulb with lots of moth & spider debri (yuk). The back porch light is hard to reach midway over the stairs and needs a special belt wrench to remove enclosed glass fixture. So I opted for winter to put the bulb in the fixture directly on the porch which is an enclosed sun room. I turned on the light switch for both and the bulbs lit for about 2 seconds and went out. Now I waited for dusk and sure enough both turned on. When daylight came it is a dark rainy day and they took longer than I expected to turn off, maybe about 45 mins. longer than I would have done manually. WIth the low wattage it's not something to worry about. I now get greeted with lit up stairs when I've been out during the daylight change and best part is I never have to remember to turn them on and off as I have done for about 20 yrs now.5Works great under porch awnings, just like the video on the product page shows.This product is working wonderfully. I thought that it may have an issue with being placed in two fixtures I have that are exposed to what may be considered too little sunlight... one under an awning over my back porch, and one in a colored glass table-top lamp. To my surprise, they both work perfectly. I was between getting this one and a Philips brand, but I went with this one because they show a video on the product page on Amazon.com, of a person installing it under an awning, like in my case. The Philips one had the photo control just above the screw base of the bulb, and I didn't like that because then you have problems with it being in too much darkness if it isn't screwed in just right. And, if you do happen to align the photo control correctly, then you may have problems with a bad connection. I believe this product has the photo control hidden below the top of the bulb.5So simple.installed in my outdoor lighting. So simple. Previous sensors were adapters that seemed to burn out of the years. Nice that these are built into the bulb.5Very brightWorks perfectly. On at dusk, off at dawn. Had to take it out to stop the blinking.I bought a different brand today.1Exactly what I needed at a value price!I didn't know something like this even existed! It's perfect! I live in a woodsy area. I'd tried using solar lights to cast some light in my front yard after dark. They worked intermittently because there is insufficient sunlight to charge them. I have a motion sensor light over my driveway, which also lights much of the back yard, but my front yard was dark. (No street lights.) I would call this bulb more of a "Dark-to-Dawn" product, rather than "Dusk-to-Dawn." It doesn't actually come on until it's dark, but that's FINE for me. The bulb screws in exactly like a regular light bulb. When you turn it on the first time, the bulb illuminates momentarily. Then it goes off and only turns on when it's dark outside. No more having to remember to turn on and off the porch light!5Awesome light for outside!!I have two motion detection lights in front of my garage which I always have to manually turn on in the night if I want any light in the front yard. When I installed these lights they only turn on in the night saving me a lot of hassle. When I checked the power consumption of the lights I was pretty shocked also. The lights use much less energy compared to my old incandescent lights. So much so that it was cheaper to leave these led lights on all night when compared to having the incandescent bulbs on in the night when motion is detected. This was a great purchase that made my life much easier and as a result I highly recommend it.5LED Light.These LED light bulbs work great! no need to change light fixture or add a photocell socket to have the on at dusk off at dawn feature, it is already built on the bulb. Works even on my recessed can light on my front door, good for when away from home will buy more for back porch.5Great bulb for your front doorI had been using a TP-Link wifi bulb for the front door because the switch that controls the light also controls the power outlet which I use for my camera plus I liked being able to auto-set it to come on when it got dark and turn off at 10 pm or whenever I felt like it but that bulb had issues with losing connection and having to reset it every night.This bulb though it turns on when it gets dark and off in the morning when it gets light out again. and it runs significantly cooler then the wifi bulb did. I thought someone mentioned in a review before that this had motion-sensing but not that I can tell. I was hoping it did only so it didn't stay on all night but from what I can tell it doesn't use up much power so there shouldn't be an issue.5Best inventionWhat a clever product! I like to have a light on in the front of the house at night, but needed something that could be set on a timer so it can go on/off when I'm not home to flip the lightswitch. These dusk to dawn lightbulbs are the perfect solution.This particular product is superior to other brands of dusk to dawn lightbulbs. My light fixture is under a covered awning that is also under a large tree, so it never gets direct sunlight. Another brand of light bulbs had the light shining in the middle of the day, but these light bulbs turn on and off at the perfect time. The only con is that since they sense brightness each lightbulb cannot be too close to another lightbulb. My light fixture has two lightbulbs, but only one works because the other senses when the first is on. No big deal though, because one is plenty bright enough.5
