Customer Reviews

The bulbs and the color are great, but they hardly dimThe bulbs and the color are great, but they hardly dim. I had older incandescent bulbs that would dim across a wide range but these shut off after only a slight dimming. I do not recommend these "dimmable" bulbs if you are expecting a wide range of ability to dim them.3Pleasant color temp but a little brightMy go-to bulb has been 60-watt GE Reveal incandescent bulbs for many years. These are now ridiculously hard to find, prohibitively expensive, and the quality is absolute crap compared to what they used to be. I get it, the light bulb industry practically invented planned obsolescence and they really want us to start buying LED bulbs so here I am. I've been using these in our bedrooms and living room and I'm pleased with them. The color is warmer than the Reveals but works well in these areas. They are definitely brighter than a 60-watt incandescent though so keep that in mind when purchasing them. Not super bright or anything but you do notice it as soon as you switch them out but after a few days it becomes the norm.4Just What I Was Looking For...I've been using the fluorescent bulbs in my bed room, because no matter what I tried in the LED style they were either too bright or too dim. As you can see from the photo, these are a tad lighter, but perfect for my needs. I also put these in my living room (2 lamps) and I have to say it's a good fit.One thing I appreciate is, I am totally butter fingers - I drop everything. When the bulb burned out in my utility room, I figured I would use one of these. I dropped the bulb about 7 feet on to a concrete floor. I was sure it was toast, but It still worked and is holding up just fine. Times sure have changed. Nikola Tesla would surely be impressed.5These are absolutely dimmable and I appreciate themEeeek. I made a mistake by purchasing Sylvania non-dimmable LED light bulbs for my living room. The problem is that even though they cannot dim and the dimmer is at full (not in dim mode) the lights are constantly flashing and surging almost like a strobe light. These absolutely solved our problem of constantly looking for The Sweet Spot in the dimmer switch.5Good color rendering, dimmability, and priceI've tried a bunch of LEDs, and I really like these.- Good color rendering: CRI is 91 and R9 (deep red) of 51, both very good for LED. (You can search for the energystar.gov page for more info.) When I tested it, I noticed reds were extremely deep on both the palm of my hand and red objects. I might even go as far to say they slightly over-emphasize the reds, but I think I'm just too used to lower-CRI LEDs. (On the other hand, CREE TW doesn't "feel" as red, but the very deep reds still come out, because they use a very narrow-band amber-red emitter.)- They dim well. They buzz a little, but less than most of the other A19 (normal "bulb" shape) bulbs I've tried. The only silent lightbulbs on a dimmer have been the large "reflector" bulbs you use in canned lights. They don't flicker at all on one of my dimmers (a traditional incandescent one), but they do flicker a little on one of my other dimmers (which ironically was designed for CFL/LED dimming). They buzz and flicker MUCH less than the 2013-era CREEs we had before.- Price. For bulbs that dim and have good color rendering, nothing else really comes close that I've seen. These replaced a bunch of $10 2013-era CREEs that we weren't happy with, and were approximately quarter the price. The CREEs went to non-dimmable switches where color quality was less important.5Know what lumens you need in your room before buying.I've installed these in both the bedroom and bathroom as I needed to use the current bulbs in the kitchen fixtures. The kitchen fixtures are enclosed and these bulbs advised against installation. In hindsight I will say that 800 lumens is a bit much for the bedroom and bathroom, but maybe that's just me being used to the previous bulbs. I am glad I didn't get the daylight version. Those would have been really bright. All six worked right out of the box with no differences. Box though looked like it had been opened as there was no seal. Bulbs were marked exactly as the package indicated so no issues with that.***Update (May 19, 2019)***One bulb has started going dim. I wonder how that could be replaced as I don't have the box anymore.4Natural color-- Updated Review 10mo Later --These bulbs have been failing. What should be a 5-7yr bulb is not proving to last that long. The bulbs start to flicker and then just stop. We are not using them on a dimmer. We've had 2 of the 8 bought Sept 2017 fail.-- Original Review --My wife hates the white led. These have a yellow tone similar to traditional bulbs and are a great price compared to many led alternatives.3Bright and not ugly lightI put these in a few of my over head fans, some in the hall way and some in the side lights by the bed. Unlike many LED lights, these are not the greenish yellow or the nasty zombie blue white light. They are reasonably close to 3,000K of the incandescent lights. No noise, no buzz, just nice even light.5bright natural light & dimmable with no buzzing soundI replaced 5 75 watt regular bulbs in a chandelier above my dining room table with these 60 watt equivalent led bulbs. These bulbs are actually brighter than the 75 watt bulbs, and the light from them is much more natural looking. They are dimmable without any problem (no buzzing sound and they dim to completely off), even though my dimmer is the old type and is not one of the new ones made for led bulbs. These bulbs are a great value.5Buyer bewareBulb temperature is the perfect color for indoor living room lighting and quite bright BUT the bulbs though dimmable, buzz when the advertising promises no buzzing and one bulb out of the 8 pack is not functioning.3
