    Impressive 3-way LED bulb.This review if for the GE 92119, 700/1600/2155 Lumen LED soft white 3-way bulb.I'm very pleased with the light this LED bulb is producing compared to similar sized incandescent or halogen 3-way bulbs. It's as bright or brighter than a 50/100/150 watt incandescent, and the color (soft white - 2700K) is not harsh or "too white". The power draw of this bulb is 6/15/22 watts.The brightest output of this bulb is the second "click" of a three way switch, so it goes "low-high-medium". The GE website explains this is done so that the bulb can be used in a regular one-way fixture and it will come on at the brightest, 2155 lumen output. The bulb pictured here on the Amazon website is for the smaller three-way LED bulb, not this one. This bulb has "vanes" running up the sides, you probably wouldn't want to put a clip-on shade on it.This bulb is installed in a table lamp sitting on top of a metal filling cabinet in a home office. The lamp is on a lot, and gets banged around. We've been going through standard 3-way bulbs every 3 - 4 months. This bulb has a 10 year warranty and no fragile filament to break. It should pay for itself quite quickly.5Saves $75/year in Energy - Everybody HappyAs an engineer, I have been desperately waiting for an LED equivalent to the 150 watt 3 way bulbs my Mom-in-Law uses at each end of her couch every day for 16 hours per day. At 22 watts for the LED vs 150 watts for incandescent, each lamp saves 128 watts which doesn't sound like much. But at 16 hours per day (and $.10/kWh), we will save $75 per year per bulb, not counting replacement costs or added A/C costs of the incandescent bulbs. After delivered (exactly when promised) I put the soft white product into table lamp at one end of sofa with 150 watt 3 way incandescent soft white at other end of sofa - wife and Mom-in-Law couldn't tell which was which. Regarding which color to order, you may not realize just how blue the daylight bulb looks. So if purchasing for residential use and you have any other incandescent lights in the house, you will probably be happier with soft white bulbs. Hope this helps.BTW, I was not compensated anything for this review.5The only three way bulb for me !Great bulb....I took the time before ordering the bulb to read the reviews so I would know what I was getting into. It is low, high, and medium in that order. No problem. Lots of unhappy customers didn't read the reviews first. Great white light that isn't to harsh...I use it to read by, and on lower levels for room lighting. It fit easily into my three way lamp. My wife saw it and promptly claimed it as hers for her three way lamp in her bedroom she reads by. So....will have to order another. If the bulb doesn't last 10 years as stated, and is beyond normal return limits for Amazon, you'll need the bulb carton to find out how to get a refund. So, keep the carton just in case. Very, very happy with the bulb and how it works.Update: Just received the second bulb and have enclosed pics. Very good product.5Expensive but very nice lightGreat light bulb. Expensive, but very nice. Instant on 3-way. It seems to go from 50W to 150W to 100W, rather than 50W to 100W to 150W, but that's okay. The light is just right for a living room floor lamp.Update: I'm changing my review from 5 stars to 2 because I've had this bulb only a few weeks and it has started to flicker intermittently. I switched to another (non-LED) bulb on hand and it doesn't flicker.Update 9 months later: I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 4 because I returned the original bulb that flickered and got a replacement. It has been 9 months and no flickering on this bulb. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the apparent inconsistency in performance among bulbs.4Expectations MORE than met; expectations EXCEEDED!!!This particular LED bulb did MORE than merely MEET the expectations that were made of it; it actually EXCEEDED those!The one problem with this kind of LED bulb is that not enough of it exist to go around. It is more than merely power-efficient and more than merely brighter than was expected; it outdoes compacted fluorescent-lighting tubes, in both respects, easily ten times over...AND without the hazardous-materials danger that such tubes can run the risk of posing to their users.5GE vs Philips: GE is more efficient than Philips on lowest setting but won't fit into some lampsComparison of GE and Philips 50/100/150 LED 3-way bulbs -- initial impressions.I have just this week installed one each of the GE and Philips bulbs. They have nearly identical medium and high lumens and both are 2700K. Both light up instantly and have pleasing light color and distribution -- like the incandescent bulbs they replace. No buzz or flickering was noticed with either.The Philips has a narrower base area (just above the socket) and fits in my desk lamp's narrower lamp shade hoop frame. The GE is wider and would not fit. The GE also has an unusual switch pattern of medium, low, high. No big deal, but initially surprising. The GE's low setting is 6W and 700 lumens. Philips is 8W and 620 lumens so GE is more efficient at lowest setting. GE also says there's a 10 year warranty (as if anyone would spend the money to send a bad bulb in for replacement). Philips says the warranty is 5 years if you web-register and 3 years otherwise.The GE has a solid glass dome. The Philips has a plastic cover at the top that is partially open so dust could get into the light it seems. Perhaps this helps with heat dissipation?I'm pleased with both. I slightly prefer the Philips due to the narrower base offering more flexibility on lamps it will fit into.GE Lighting 92119 3-Way LED 50/100/150-watt replacement A21 BulbPhilips LED 3-Way A21 Frosted Light Bulb: 2200-1600-620-Lumen, 2700-Kelvin, 22-16-8-Watt (150-100-50-Watt Equivalent), E26 Base4Didn't last long, it says 20+ years, made it 20 days!When I first turned this on I was pleased! Finally no more having 3 way bulbs burn out when you least expect it. That ended after the second week! First my wife complained that it would change from bright to dim by itself. I didn't believe it until it happened to me!I had another 3 way lamp so I swapped the lamps figuring the switch was bad. Wrong!, It worked for one day, and now it only stays dim no other explanation than a defective bulb. I hate wasting money on another bulb, but I'm going to try again. Stay tuned!!2Problems, Had to Return Both Bulbs and Order a Different Style GE 3-way LED bulbTwo bad bulbs in a row. I've used these bulbs before and didn't hesitate to order it again. The first bulb (June 11) worked on settings 1 and 2, but level 3 went on dim like a nightlight.I initiated the return and got my replacement bulb today. The shipping box is perfect. The product box was pretty much destroyed/torn open in places/chewed up. Odd. The bulb looked okay, so I put it in the lamp, but the same thing happened as with the first bulb: worked on settings 1 and 2, but level 3 went on dim like a nightlight.I tried initiating a return for THIS bulb, too, but Amazon website experiencing problems and I've been unable to. It's too expensive to let these go :(I just ordered a more expensive bulb *yikes!* at $16.40, the GE Lighting 92119 3-Way LED 50/100/150-watt replacement A21 Bulb with Medium Base, Soft White, 1-Pack.1A little expensive, but the only 3-way LED I like so far.As other reviewers mentioned, the power sequence is 100/150/50, not increasing in order. But I really like it this way because if you use it as a nightstand lamp, it's kind of nice to go right to the 3rd increment (which is the low light setting) & do what you need to do, then turn it off without getting blinded right before going dark. That may not sound logical, but it only takes a little getting used to & I happen to like it now. I only took a star away due to the higher price than I think it should be, but I am glad to have it.Btw, I chose the daylight spectrum of light with this bulb because I don't use it much as a low light reading lamp, but more as a bright light when looking around the bedroom. If you plan to use it more as a reading light, I'd go with the warm or soft light choices. The bulb does a good job of diffusing the light (as opposed to some LED's that almost seem light spotlights).4GE comes to the LED party late, but produces a winnerVery well made bulb. Light is like a 150 watt incandescent at the brightest level. Seems to be on a par with Philips, which I think makes the best LED bulbs, but they have not yet produced a 150 W equivalent bulb. LED lights are pretty hot at the 150 watt equivalent level, but this one has fins on the side that keep your hands from getting burned.Only negative is that when you turn the light on, it goes Low/High/Medium, which I find disconcerting, but it's a minor point. The GE website explains this is done so that the bulb can be used in a regular one-way fixture and it will come on at the brightest, 2155 lumen output.I have also bought Cree (good) and Feit (lousy) LEDs.This bulb is available at Target for $20. When I told amazon, they reduced the price to the current level, presumably reflecting a premium for Prime shipping.Note: At least one reviewer has said that many of the reviews on this page are for three-way incandescent bulbs, not LEDs. Based upon my reading, that appears to be the case.5
