Replacement Battery for Makita 14.4Update: One year later the battery is still holding nominal charge life and performing as good as factory batteries. Great purchase!I received this battery 6 months ago and after steady-heavy use, I must say that it has proven to be a solid performer in fit, charge-life and power. The item has the quality fit & finish of Makita factory made batteries. The selling price was in the neighborhood of $35 delivered and I have been happy that this purchase was less than half the price of Makita factory made battery replacments and about 30% less than other non Makita factory batteries found at retail. The decline of my factory batteries had me thinking I may need to change over my cordless collection to a new format - an expensive option that is frankly not reasonable for me in this economy. The success of this battery allows me to get another life out of my existing collection of cordless tools. Please consider this a sold recommendation for the Expert Power 14.4 battery. ExpertPower 14.4v 3000mAh NiMh Extended Battery for Makita 1433 1434 1435 1435F 192699-A 193158-35A Great Replacement for your Ni-CadsFirst, let me say the ExpertPower company delivered my battery very quickly by priority mail at no extra cost. It arrived in about 3 days. The battery itself quickly came to full charge in my Makita charger. I use it in my Makita flash light. This battery seems to be the energizer bunny on steroids. I used it daily for 6 weeks, often for long periods of time, and kept expecting it to need a recharge. But it kept going and the light continued to be bright as always. With the Ni-Cads the light would gradually get dimmer but with this NiMh battery it stays bright. It never got to the point where it needed to be recharged but I decided to recharge it anyway figuring it would be good for the health of the battery. And several weeks later it still performs well despite much daily use. I am now curious how long it will go before it actually does need to be recharged. And let it be said this is the first time I have gotten an aftermarket battery that performs this well...most all I have bought in the past have been duds. And I have given up on the expensive Makita branded battery replacements for my various tools after having several poop out within a couple of years. I am expecting this battery to exceed that short life by a good margin. And the low price of this battery is a BIG bonus over those overpriced Makita offerings.Let it be known I'll be baack if this battery does not continue to perform.5Way to Go I bought this generic replacement battery for my aging Makita 14 volt tools. The factory original batteries are very expensive and, in my experience, didn't last any longer than the generic brands. That being said, this particular battery was reasonably priced and the shipping was very fast. 5Like Having New DrillsIn the old days, I used to buy new drills when the batteries faded. OEM replacement batteries cost almost as much as the drill. Apprehensive because of the price, good reviews made the difference. I have two Makita drill/drivers and an impact driver that are several years old. Two of the original (2.6 Ah) batteries are long dead and the remaining pair very weak.I was surprised at the amount of power increase, and could not be happier with the tremendous run-time. Quality appears to be identical to the original batteries. Fit is perfect and the release mechanism actually seems to work better - as getting the original batteries to release was sometimes tricky. My order shipped the day it was placed and arrived two days later. Thank you ExpertPower and Amazon.5Didn't Last LongI bought this battery for my old Makita drill and driver set. It worked great for about 6 months but now it will not take or hold a charge. I put it on the charger, the charger shows a green light after a period of time but the battery goes almost immediately dead after I start using it. All rechargeable batteries will not last long if you leave them dead for a long time or over charge them. I don't think I did either of these things to the battery.2gets good running time but not quite a Makita but better ...I charged fully, gets good running time but not quite a Makita but better price. Now I can get another few years from a 17 year old drill I've used at work a lot.Don't even bother with Batteries Minus as they totally messed up rebuilding my old batteries and lasted 6 months with very poor power for a massive 32 bucks Per Battery rebuilt. Nice chunk of plastic missing on that BP rebuild for electric shock in light rain. Now, will this Chinese version last 7 years like the makitas did?4Short life span batteryVery disappointed. After 11months the battery will not hold a sufficient charge to drive two 2.5" screws. We use a v14.4 Makita and the factory batteries lasted more than 5 years. This is the 2nd time I purchased this battery through Amazon. The first time it only lasted 6 months so I gave it another try. Please keep in mind our drill gets light to moderate personal use. When I looked the battery states it has a 1 year warranty so I still have a month. When I messaged the seller I received no response after a week. Hopefully the warranty will not run out like the last time. If you buy this battery just realize it will more than likely let you down unexpectedly within a year. When I brought the bad batteries my local electronics shop they said they can refurbish with high-quality long-lasting battery cells that will last for many years. No response from seller on my warranty claim. Thank you2Not good, getting betterThis battery pack lasted only 8 months and is completely dead. Waste of money.Edit-Found out this battery pack has a one year warrenty. I contacted ExpertPower and returned defective unit. They tested and confirmed it was bad and sent me a new pack. Time will tell if this replacement one will do the job.Well the replacement went bad. Going back to Makita.1Wouldn't Hold ChargeMany people seem to have been pleased with this battery. However, I must have gotten a lemon. Here's how it went for me: Day 1: After fully charging the battery I was able to drive about 40 3.5" screws, Day 2: After fully charging I was able to drive 32 1" screws and 1 3.5" screw. Day 3: After fully charging it for the third time, it drove one 3.5" screw and was out of juice half way through the second 3.5" screw. Day 4: I sent it back to Amazon for a refund.Maybe there is something wrong with my drill or my charger. Both seem to be working OK. If I discover that this is the case I will delete this review.1ExpertPower Makita BatteryI have had this battery for a few months now. Wanted to make sure I had no problems before commenting. It has been charging normally and holding the charge. I use the drill as needed and so sometimes it has been sitting for weeks and/or months between charges. Working just fine. I plan on getting another one.Update on 8/29/2017 - I have had this now for few years now and it is still going. It had been over eight months since the last charge and it is charging just fine. Ordering another now.5Pleasantly surprisedSo far these batteries exceeded my expectations. I have an older cordless Makita with two batteries. The original Ni-MHs lasted six or eight years, which was far superior to the previous generation Ni-Cd designs. When they finally died I bought a pair of genuine Makita replacements. Bad move - not only did they fit poorly (super hard to remove and install), but they both died within a single year! These are Chinese generic replacements at a very good price, but received excellent customer reviews so I decided to take a chance. They fit perfectly, and slide in and out like the originals. They arrived with nearly a full charge and both topped off in only 20 minutes or so. I won't know how long they last for a while - I'm hoping another 5 or 6 years like the original Makita batteries. One thing that helps is to never let them fully discharge. That means to swap them out as soon as the drill starts to slow, and to re-charge them every month even when not in use (due to self-discharge).5
