IAM SOOOOO HAPPY..THIS thing saved me 300.00 for a plummer..MY SINK WAS PLUGGED UP FOR 5 MONTHS DID EVERYTHING..NOTHING WORKED..I ALMOST GAVE UP...I HOOKED IT TO MY SINK WITH THE ADAPTER AND A SMALL GARDEN HOSE...AT FIRST WATER JUST FLOWED OUT..TURNED IT OFF THEN ON AGAIN FOR ABOUT 4 TIMES WITH A PAN UNDER THE HOLE THAT WENT OUT THE WALL UNDER SINK....MOPPED UP WATER A FEW TIMES..I NOTICED LESS WATER BACKING UP....THEN FINALLY IT WENT THROUGH I RAN WATER DOWN THE HOLE FOR ABOUT 10 MINS AFTER IT WAS FLOWING..I TRYED THE SINK AFTER PUTTING EVERYTHING TOGETHER....ITS BEEN A WEEK AND EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL.....IAM SOOOOO HAPPY...I CAN RUN MY DISHWASHER AND USE MY SINK....THANK YOU JESUS AND DRAIN KING..LOL..5Wish I would have used this first before calling a plumberThis product was just an after thought after I paid over $2k in plumber bills. After 3 weeks of back and forth with the plumber using a snake and digging up pipes in my back yard. The washing machine stand pipe was still over flowing. Every excuse to the reasoning why it was over flowing. It was coming up through my shower and the toilet. Terrible to say the least. I ordered this product. Put it in the stand pipe turned on the water and after about 5 minutes and some crazy noises the problem was fixed. Ironically the plumber was here and said he no confidence or would work. So for $12 and a garden house I fixed my plumbing issue. Google and YouTube for me before I call out the professionals.5Worked wonderfully! Grateful it was recommended to us.We have spent years dealing with 1952 old galvanized pipes clogging. Tried many different drain cleaners which would work for a couple of days and then back to clogged again. My husband had even tried a 25 foot snake to clear the lines. What a mess and still nothing would drain. We had given up and left a bucket under the sink to catch the water until we could hire a plumber to replace the lines. We didn't know about this product until it was recommended to us. AMAZING! First try a success! We didn't experience any of the pulsating/vibrating that others describe-as a matter of fact we let the water run 5 minutes wondering if it was working at all. Oh, it worked. We hooked up the sink again and haven't had an issue! Please don't hesitate to try this-worth every penny!5Works amazingly, cross-bar adapter is loud.I have a few of these in assorted sizes and bought this one for the plastic adapter that I was too lazy to cobble together myself. It fits all of my drains, works as it should, but the pressure bladder has an off-center water hole that hits the plastic on the adapter and makes an ungodly loud racket that vibrates the house and scares all of my animals.Granted it's an occasional-use item that I don't plan on using much and it's a petty gripe, but it would be perfect if it didn't do that.As to the comparison with the others I have from assorted brands, this one has the most solid construction. It doesn't leak at the connection to the hose, and the brass solves a very real problem with using it in shallow drain-pans where the water-jet will get blocked by hitting an obstruction, or by hitting the bottom of a p-trap. I gave it back the star I would have taken for the noise because of those two things.5Hands down the best drain clearer EVERNo joke I tried EVERYTHING to clear both my tub shower drain and the master shower drain. Chemicals=nope, snake=nope, plungers=temporary fix and a ton of work. My house was built in 2006 and before I bought it and moved in 2009 it was an investment property that was rented out and it was very apparent the renters didn't respect the house. I've put some money into and thought I was going to have to have the drain pipes replumbed as well which was not going to be cheap. I'm told I'm very stubborn which would explain not hiring an expensive plumber either. For what it's worth I just happened across this on Amazon and lucky for me this $16 contraption blasted thru whatever it was in my drains and did so in under 5 minutes. I'm stunned! It makes a whole lot of racket but my son loves it and I wouldn't want it any other way because it's screaming out the drains! lol I have been needlessly working so hard plunging my drains for too many years and I wish I would've found this a long time ago. I didn't even need the plastic adapter either. In conclusion don't be like me and waste your money on all of that other stuff and especially the harmful chemicals. Buy this and you won't be sorry.Edit: So I've been told by a very good plumber family member that these are called "blow bags" in the plumbing community and they work great as long as it's a "hard drain" like a shower drain or toilet. He says to not use these on a sink drain though because it "will create a heckuva mess". I'll take his work for it.5This product is EPIC! This product is EPIC! We have a first floor shower that shares the pipes with the kitchen sink and dishwasher. The shower drain is always slow and completely clogs every 2 to 3 months. I have tried every chemical products from Lowe's, ACE and Home Depot, including the ones that caused smoke. Nothing really worked. I ended up putting a stopper on the drain because of back flow when using the dishwasher. I called a plumber and he tried to snake it but said the turn is too sharp and wanted to replace all of the pipes. I have a finished basement so was not excited about that idea. I saw this product receiving the highest rating from Consumer Report and decided to give it a try. In less then 20 seconds, the drain was wide open. I have never seen water drain so fast from this shower. I let it run for another 10 minutes just for good luck. 5It worked wonderfully the very first time!It is always great when you buy a product and it works as advertised the very first try! My kitchen double sink had been backing up for the last 4 or 5 days. I used a snake, chemicals, and a plunger with no results. Since I have a garbage disposer, my thought was that maybe some food had clogged the pipe way down. While looking for a longer snake or another option, I came by this product on Amazon. With nothing to lose and it being so cheap, I said why not give it a try. I had to buy this version with the adapter because my sink did not have the normal drain hole, so I could not insert the hose inside the pipe. The adapter fitted perfectly on the sink drain, so I covered the garbage disposer drain, plugged the adapter into the other sink's drain, and told my wife to turn open the water on the hose. The Drain King started doing its thing, and OMG, I could feel the pressure!! I am a big guy, and I was getting TIRED holding the plug on one sink in place while also holding the Drain King with the adapter in the other sink. I honestly thought that the plug was going to shoot to the roof and water was going to start splashing...that is HOW strong the pressure was, no joke. Water started filling the drain a bit, but I was able to keep it in place for a good 5 minutes. I asked my wife to turn the water off, and voila! No more backing up! Sink is working perfectly fine. I am REALLY impressed with the Drain King and would HIGHLY recommend it!5Success on first try! This thing worked great. I had snaked my kitchen drain four or five times, only to have the problem back in a few days. I was resigned to buying an expensive long electric snake (I have a 25 foot crank type), but thought I'd try this. I can take off the trap and get a straight shot into my outgoing pipe, but I couldn't push it very far in (the confusing instructions say at least 4 feet, but the picture shows it about six inches in). I had it about 18 inches down the pipe and ran the water for five minutes. At first, I had to use quite a bit of force to hold a stopper over the second sink drain, but soon that pressure subsided, so I knew a lot of the blockage was gone. All in all, much better than spending hundreds of bucks on an electric snake.I did not try the sink adaptor thing because my pipes allow me to go straight back. Next time I might, just to see how it works.5Worked Great On Clogged Pool SkimmerThis product paid for itself the day it arrived. We clogged our pool skimmer line with leaves trying to vacuum the pool that had little to no visibility. We tried snaking but that didn t work so this was our next option. We used it immediately after it was delivered and had the line cleared of debris in about 20 minutes. The bladder swells to about the size of a softball so make sure it s in the pipe prior to turning on water.5Works like a charmMy spouse told me this would NOT work where I wanted to try it which is the drain for the AC unit. It is a 3" pipe and does a p-trap loop right away.Well my spouse was wrong. It worked like a charm. I had watched Youtube videos on making sure to buy this brand and not one that is similar. Make sure you buy Drain King which has the brass tip and not the inferior one that is sold in most box stores near you.Make sure you wrap the rubber piece with aluminum foil when stored so it keeps it in the dark to protect the rubber. There is a hilarious 19 min video of a guy that tried about 15 different products and chemicals to unclog his toilet. The larger version of this is the last thing he tried that actually worked !!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc5ifJD6Lyo5Patience and a little strength will get your drain cleared, fantastic product! We live in a home built on a slab with all the plumbing in the slab. The drain lines are cast iron. Every month for nine years, we would start getting slow running drainage in the kitchen sink and tub, and a toilet or two. Every four months or so we would break down and call the plumber who would put some chemical down the pipes or a snake with a motor, would back up another and they would have to clear that one as well. We had tried a myriad of things, plumber s helper, vinegar and baking soda, drain cleaners from every shelf, two different lengths of snakes. Lots of accusations of what should be allowed down drains to the septic tank... I was at the point I wanted to pay out big bucks to send a camera down the line and see what we were up against before cutting out the slab.We decided on the Drain King It is by far the best thing we have purchased in the plumbing category. Read and follow the directions, it couldn t be easier. We worked on the kitchen sink. There s a bit of a learning curve but have patience. If you have a water cut off connector for your hose, you can do this by yourself. If not, you will need another person. Connect the Drain King, use the attachment if you have a cross drain. Give it time..a good bit of time. The bladder fills up and it s a bit of a chore to hold on to. I wasn t successful in figuring out how to get it the automatic lock to lock in. This could be due to the sink drain as it has a cross bar in it, or the tub in which I had to put it in almost a 45 degree angle. The bladder didn t puncture when pressing up agains four tabs in the drain. The Drain King feels like it s doing nothing for a good while, then you feel the pressure building, the sound will change when it goes into what I call the pressure washer mode. And the bladder starts in like a jack hammer feel. Give it a bit to work and eventually it goes back down to feeling like a garden hose. The bathtub was by far the most aggravating. When I didn t get it in the drain far enough, water and sludge came back up through the overflow drain. Once I got it in correctly, it took maybe five minutes to clear the lines. It s been over a month now and all drains are draining really well. I used it on a bathroom sink as the drain line was really gross (almost 50 years of use) and nothing was cleaning it. The Drain King cleaned it faster than I can type. I think Drain King should include a water cut off connector or Amazon put it in the buy with this...Did we need this particular model, probably not. I m sure we could ve used the smaller one; however, I wasn t sure if we would need to go through another pipe, perhaps a clean out pipe.So why only four stars? Can t give 4 3/4. The attachments for the kitchen sink or bathroom sink, fit neither in our house. I had even purchased one on line that is chrome plated for a just in case, it didn t fit either. The kitchen sink faucet is a newer model, the bathroom sinks are original. If you are planning on using their sink attachment for the hose, think again and go to the box store to see if they have one to fit your faucet. It s probably an issue with standard vs metric, or perhaps age of the faucet. We just ran the hose through the bathroom window.4
