Customer Reviews

Loved faucet - beware Bar/Prep is smaller than Kitchen Faucet This faucet is great. It is solidly built, the magnet on the spout works well, and the touch technology was reliable. Also loved the light which showed the temperature of the water. One thing to beware of:This is a BAR / PREP faucet, NOT a full-size kitchen faucet. We bought this for our kitchen and it looked disproportionate to the sink. Once we looked closely at the specs, realized this is much SMALLER than a full kitchen sink. Who knew. It's an easy thing to miss, and the regular customer who isnt buying faucets all the time won't know the difference, unless someone tells them. 4A bit complicated and very touchy but we love it! Let me first say we love it and these points are small nit picky things we wish were different. It was a bid complicated to install. There are a lot of parts and you certainly need to read the instructions first. That said, everything worked as expected and installation was fairly strait forward once you read through everything. The sprayer is a bit too strong, one setting isn't a strong enough stream and the spray setting sprays water everywhere.Too touchy, I wish the sensitivity were a bit lower or you could adjust it. As an example, many times when you grab the nozzle to pull it down and rinse something off, if you graze or touch the neck of the faucet at all, it shuts off. Not a big deal but after doing it 5 or 6 times while doing dishes it can be annoying. 4Nice look solenoid went out first week of use. We have installed one in every house we do and this is the first to have an issue so I believe it was a bad egg. Love the water spout on this one versus some of the other lines of the h2o. Seems like the spray has a smaller spread which would be handy washing dishes compared to one we put in our house has twice the spray width. I do really recommend these faucets but there might be a lot of flaws with the production of this model so 3 stars. Delta was very easy to call and order the part which took about a week but I ended up installing rather than sub-contracted plumber. 3Great faucet for indoor use I ordered this to replace my outdoor kitchen faucet that was the exact same kind that was there before. The faucet functions very well and it is sturdy. It also looks nice and is a great size for small sinks. The only problem is that the hot and cold water lines are built into the fixture so you cannot just replace the water line if it is damaged! I only had the first faucet less than 1 year. The water line froze and ruptured during the winter. It was nearly new, but I had to replace the whole thing! That is a poor design, but otherwise it is a really great faucet! 4I love the height of it and distance from the edge ... Got this faucet to go with my matte black kitchen sink and it matches perfectly! I love the height of it and distance from the edge which allows for easy filling of large pots. Smooth finish, great color, hose comes out and retracts with ease, and it's really easy to click between stream and spray. It took me a few days to get used to the position needed for hot/cold and fast/slow but that's understandable since I always had a dual handle faucet and anything new takes time to adjust to. Highly recommend! 5Right size, does not leak. Started with one of those "Solid Stainless Steel" $60 kitchen faucets. Very nice. The connect to any thread in the world with the right adapter supply line fittings both leaked. At $200 this Delta is nearly four times more expensive, so much for value rating. Walked through HD looking at faucets. The big name brand, medium (but not inexpensive) priced kitchen faucets were disappointing flimsy.. I have been having some good luck with Delta products in my recent remodeling. This Delta feels fairly substantial, The valve body is solid metal, they say brass in the description. The neck and sprayer are pretty light, welcome to the real world of throw away consumerism. Not as good as the $60 one, much better than any of those more expensve faucets on display at HD.. Mounting was easy, Delta is good at providing clever tools. PEX supply lines are long enough to connect to my through the floor water line with a gentle curve, returned my extension lines I had needed for the $60 one. The flow control valve only rotates 90 degrees, cold is straight up, hot out at 90 degrees,.aka the valve handle and dirty wet hand do not hit the back wall when turning it on the way it did with the rotate both ways $60 one. The retraction weight does not clamp on the spray line, it slides; the sprayer line does not self retract after being pulled out, you have to push it in. This particular Delta faucet is not a "full size" kitchen faucet, it is a "prep sink" faucet, a little shorter and a little narrower in the arch. I replaced a typical 36 inch two small basin kitchen sink with a (smaller) one large basin sink. The $60 faucet looked huge and made the sink look small, This Delta is the perfect size. 5Love the touch technology, great sprayer, excellent water pressure. Go for touch technology. We're in the middle of a kitchen remodel. Doing it ourselves, so we're dealing with a lot of extended "in the middle." Since there are many options for purchase here, this is the model I purchased: (Delta Faucet 9913T-AR-DST Essa Single Handle Bar/Prep Faucet with Touch2O Technology and MagnaTite Docking, Arctic Stainless $187.94 - keep in mind that the prices do change frequently for things like this. I've seen this model in the $250 range on Amazon as well).I ordered the touch technology arctic stainless faucet to replace the IKEA faucet I originally had bought to go with my IKEA farmhouse sink with apron. I loved the sink, but was ultimately unhappy with the IKEA faucet from a functionality standpoint. The IKEA faucet did not have enough of an angle, so the water essentially went straight down the drain so we had to lean into the sink much further just to wash our hands or do anything. Additionally, the sprayer was not nearly as powerful as I would have liked, despite the fact our water pressure is fine. The Delta faucet is fantastic. My husband found the faucet to be easy to install. We did not use the baseplate (they call it an escutcheon). To me, the baseplate would look out of place on a farmhouse sink with apron. Perhaps there are sinks where it would look right, but not mine. You can leave the faucet in the on position and then touch any spot on the faucet except the retractable part of the nozzle to turn the faucet on/off. At first, we were getting drips after turning the faucet off, but it was because we did not have the faucet pulled into the on position all the way. If it's on all the way, it'll come on full force and there will be no drips when we turn it off. The sprayer is awesome and the hose is really long. It also retracts and locks into place perfectly with the dock locking mechanism.I saw on similar faucets where people thought the "eye" at the base was a sensor like those automatic faucets that some public bathroom sinks have; that's not what this is, obviously. The color on the "sensor" will be blue when the color is cool. It is red when it's hot. It is somewhere in the middle of a red/blue but not exactly blended purple color when it's not 100% cold nor hot. The sensor only lights up while the water is running. Oh, I didn't realize that the batteries would be shipping with the touch technology pack, so that was a pleasant surprise. It's not as tall as the first faucet from IKEA, but that's fine. It actually makes it easier to get to the window because it's only 14.5 inches tall. We've only had it installed for a few weeks, but I can tell you already that as much as I like it, the only visual problem that I have is just how spotty it gets. Unfortunately, it is not spot resistant. The other thing is that if I'm filling a pot of water, I find that I accidentally turn off the water from bumping the pot into the faucet. So the faucet can even be affected by the touch of a pot, not just your hand.I find that I try touching the faucet in the bathroom now, which I find so funny! I do love the ease of just touching the faucet when my hands are covered in something. It is SO convenient. If you are debating if this is worth it, it is. When you consider the price for a new faucet and see that the cost of this one with touch technology is less than some faucets without, you have to go for this!Overall, happy with this purchase. Pleased to have found same Delta faucet here for sale on Amazon for much less than in stores. Excuse the "ugly no backsplash" look going on in my pictures, but again. . .remodel.EDIT: It's been about 5 months and we still have not had to replace the batteries, and the faucet gets a lot of daily use.EDIT: We replaced the batteries Christmas week, so we're looking at a nearly nine-month shelf life. The faucet began to flash when we tapped it on, with the colors flashing from blue to red to blue to red. That was the signal. So with three people in the house and everyone using the faucet on a regular basis, I don't think that people really need the adapter. I think batteries will hold up for you just fine. 4Very nice quality, fairly easy to install Very nice quality, fairly easy to install. Diameter of faucet is a bit bulkier/fatter for my prep sink size of 15 x 10. But it's height is just right, about 1 1/2 inches shorter than usual standard sink faucet. Really like faucet control arm able to be installed in several option positions. I mounted mine in front do to space constraints. All in all, nice looking quality, works superb, magnetic head, long internal lines, excellent spray control. 5it's almost perfect. I also have a regular-size Essa in my ... Put this in my laundry room; it's almost perfect. I also have a regular-size Essa in my kitchen. I looked at just about every faucet made, and I'm not exaggerating; I spent months deciding. I love the sleek look. The only thing I don't love about it is the pressure (both faucets); it will definitely splash outside of the sink if you turn it on too far. It's been 3 months and I still have to remind myself to be careful when turning it on. I try to always turn it back to regular stream and not spray, because if I do turn it on too far in spray mode everything nearby gets a shower. One more very minor thing is that the toggle button seems like it is in center position for stream and "up" for spray; seems like it should be up for one and down for the other, but no biggie. (BTW, I also have Delta shower hardware, and the pressure situation is the opposite, yet only a short distance from other faucets, so it's not our pipes.) 5Great faucet, but does not include the Escutcheon (for 3 hole instalation) When I first received the faucet it did not include the escutcheon used for installation into 3 hole sinks, despite saying it was on the product page. It looks like this part is some $40-$60 on its own.I called Delta replacement parts customer service number. They tried to tell me the text on the page, "Optional escutcheon included to allow for 1 or 3-hole applications." means it's NOT included. After pointing out the word used is literally "included", they stood by their interpretation, but sent me the part anyways. A very weird and annoying experience. But I've now received the escutcheon and installed it. Looks great, pretty easy to install (my first time installing a faucet), works great. Also, this Bar-Prep size is perfect for my regular NY apartment sized sink. It shoots directly into the center of the drain, absolutely perfect. Some of the chrome pieces feel a little cheaper. It looks like the stainless has been discounted since I ordered. For $20 more I would've bought the stainless, but not worth exchanging now. Still looks good. 3
