Customer Reviews

Great tor the Poor PatcherThis is amazing stuff!I hate caulking and repairing drywall. This stuff stays flexible so it may not be suitable for every drywall job. But, if you have a wall where there is movement due to temperature change or wonky walls this stuff is what you need.Easy to apply.Skins fast.Sticks well to vertical surfaces and fills small voids like along base boards.5it's still a good option. But if you want something that will ...When I was growing up,. if you needed to fill something bigger than the fraction of an inch suitable for joint compound, and you didn't want shrinkage, you used plaster of Paris. That still works for me, and if you don't mind mixing something as you go along and having something that starts to set within a minute of being mixed, it's still a good option. But if you want something that will fill big gaps easily without shrinking, this product fits the bill very well. It stays pliable more than long enough to work with it, is easy to clean up when wet, doesn't shrink, and dries to a paintable surface. The only down side is that it's not designed to be sanded. So if you need to finish your work with sanding, leave room for a top layer of joint compound. But if you want something firm and flexible, this works better as is.4Very simple - it doesn't work!I had high hopes for this product, because my old house has a lot of plaster cracks, but the cracks reappeared after about 6 months. Very disappointing, and now I still have to pay a handyman to come in and fix the cracks. Total waste of money.1EXCELLENT PRODUCT I purchased the textured product to fill in a number of long cracks in a very old plaster wall. I had tried various products thru the years, but the cracks always opened up. The wall already had a texture to it, so this textured product worked perfectly. 3 months in, so far so good. I have always found that DAP makes excellent products. 5Works really well. Paint over looks like new Stucco.Works very good. I used a big container of the Elasto Patch on numerous cracks in my exterior of my stucco house. Live close to Military bases n every time there is a boom, we see cracks in our house. This Elasto Patch goes on smooth and into the cracks and then after a day of drying well, we painted over and looks like new stucco. I just ordered another quart of this, more tiny cracks in different spots.5AMAZING PRODUCT!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDThis stuff is absolutely AMAZING! Above our shower on the wall the paint and drywall ended up pealing off and looked really ugly and dirty. I sanded ans scrapped away excess dry wall/paint so it would be smooth. Applied 2 coats of this all over the wall to ensure that spot wouldn't come back again! Within an hour it was completely dry although I would wait 2/3 hours before using the shower if that's what you are using it for. Now that it's completely dried and smooth! I can now begin to paint over it and add a backsplash to ensure the spot wont come back. This stuff is super smooth and very easy to work with! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!15Allows me to preserve the stucco on my Spanish Ranch house!Elastopatch allows me to "re-stucco" the crumbly bits and pieces of my 1937 Spanish Ranch to perfection. I took down a 20' wood awning over our driveway, which left huge gaping holes, filled it with off-white elastopatch and then painted it with color-matched house paint. No one was the wiser! My neighbor was impressed. He watched the transformation happen in a matter of 3 hours. I use latex gloves to apply this product and I smear / slop / rub it on like an artist would sculpt. I find I have the best control and the best result for perfect textured "stucco." I bought 8 jars of it and redid walls, a crumbled planter, the garage, around windows and doors. Amazing!5Great solution for certain cracks, not as workable as spackle!Know what you are fixing prior to purchasing this stuff. I purchased this thinking it would just add a little flexibility to your average spackle usage (My mistake). This is not the case as this stuff is extremely difficult to sand and and to get looking good. That being said, i used this on some crown molding that continued to crack spackle and cheap caulk and the gap is now holding perfectly. Perfect for certain cracks for sure!4Works well because it stays soft and sealsThe most significant benefit of this product is that remains soft and slightly rubbery so it seals. I bought a house that had a leaky roof where a deck abuts a second floor wall. The house is concrete block but the problem wall was a 10 year old change that uses some type of wall board. The guy I bought the house from said that nothing ever sticks to it. There were lots of opportunities for water to get in.I covered a 4' x 2' section between a window and the deck. It stuck well and eliminated the leaks. It looks sort of like the texture of my house and I'm satisfied with the appearance. The negative reviews seem to be from people that didn't understand the product before they purchased it. I was specifically looking for elastomeric to solve my leaks and it did exactly what I needed.5Was worried about the viscous liquid, but got used ...Was worried about the viscous liquid, but got used to it. Do not put on heavy coats, only skim.you can't sand this. Had bubbles in spackle for some reason and this helped the bubbles atop returning. Have not tried to see if this will cause flashing without a primer, but I have high hopes.Waiting to see what other applications I can use this for in the future. It is not only for Sheetrock as I thought.5Durable and easy to apply - perfect for RVs and outdoor use tooI used this in an RV on a couple areas of water-damaged walls. Because RV's flex in motion, I chose this product because it is elastic and won't crack. This product can NOT be sanded so take care to apply it in a manner that gives you the finish you want because it can't be changed by sanding and you can't smooth it out once it sets up. You can use water on a finger tip to smooth out peak or ridges while the product is still wet but once it's only damp to dry, it is what it is. It is like troweling on an elastic rubber putty rather than a typical spackling. It is less forgiving and you must let it dry before adding additional product or it will "stretch" with the trowel or putty knife leaving waves behind. If you have a very steady hand you could use a blade to trim off high peaks or product that got onto other surfaces that you didn't notice before it dried. Water will clean up while the product is wet. When dry on my hands, I used water and wash cloth to easily scrub or peel off. Tools clean up easily also, but ONLY before product dries. It filled in deeper but smaller holes just fine. A second skim coat was needed to fill in what shrinks when drying - it will do this if a deeper or larger hole. I wouldn't attempt this on a larger hole without seam tape or mesh. I believe this would work great with either of those if needed. It can be painted also but I am applying self-adhesive wall tiles over this and tested one in advance - it stuck great since it is not a silicone product. Another advantage of this product is that it is water proof once dry so it can be used outdoors too. I bought two of these to cover about 20sq' of damaged walls with large holes where paneling was pulled away from Styrofoam insulation. This product applied and adhered to metal studs, Styrofoam insulation blocks, wood and wallpapered paneling like a champ! I highly recommend5
