Great CameraGreat camera. Keep in mind that you're not going to get DSLR-quality images from this camera (or any bridge camera), but this is still a great camera. It's a fully manual bridge camera (a camera that's between a point and shoot and a DSLR) with a great zoom range. It shoots HD video and also has Wifi, allowing you to upload your photos directly to your phone. The image quality is great, once you understand that this camera (and most cameras in this class) has a 1/2.3 inch sensor. A sensor this size will not be able to provide the dynamic range of bigger sensors (1-inch, APS-C, or Full-Frame), but in adequate light, you will be able to get some nice photographs with this camera if you know what you're doing.5Excellent, versatile camera.Haven't used nearly all of the features yet. A bit annoyed that some of the directions in the book refer you to the online manual - like WiFi. The only other annoyance is that the play button is too easy to hit when just picking up the camera. I also miss having a view finder. During my recent trip to Ocean Shores I had to just guess at what I pointing at. Two videos were spoiled because the silly camera focused on a speck on the lens instead of the waves. I couldn't tell until later. Luckily, I had another chance to go back. A wide brimmed hat helps, just didn't have one this trip.5DisappointedI take thousands of pictures from the back of a motorcycle and have had many cameras. Several of them were Canons. The main thing that I liked about this one is that it is smaller, more lightweight, and the 50 X zoom. BUT, it seems like all they did was put a cheap $50 camera into a Canon body. When you press buttons, it makes a strange "spring" sound. Really bothers me. Also, the power button placement is a complete fail. It is in a very inconvenient place. Hard to manage with one hand. Awkward! My last camera had the option of having a 30 minute window for the power save before shutting down. This one only has a short time. Traveling down the road, I have missed many good shots because the camera had shut down! Frustrating! I would return it, but it was a gift from my husband. The zoom is the best feature. Otherwise, I would suggest getting a better camera. Or just get a cheap pocket camera.3Absolutely amazing pictures for $250 camera.I have a Canon SL1 and a Canon 70-200 zoom lens... approx $800.I took picts of the pink full moon the other night and this powershot 540 blew it away... for less then 1/3 the price!Any reviews bad nothing the quality of the picts are blatant lies. Maybe they left the packing tape on the lens or some other similar mistake, but turned it on and took picts in fully auto mode and EVERYONE asked how I took these pictures.5I love this cameraI love this camera! It's everything I wanted! Brings things right up to where I feel I can almost touch it! You can take pictures fast with it too.. no lagging5Great camera. Then camera is light and convenient to use. The manual could use more details, like most of them. I prefer an eyepiece to look through rather than relying on the digital screen. Sunny days are very hard to see what you are going to photograph. The light weight of the camera is great.5Love everything about the cameraLove everything about the camera. It was exactly what l wanted and it dose exceed my every needs. Thanks for a great product.5Took it on vacation instead of full DSLR, lot lighter and decent picturesGenerally good camera, not as fast to adjust settings as an DSLR but i made great pictures even with full zoom.To take a similarly capable DSLR would require me to carry a bag of lenses and for a mountain hike would have been too heavy. It does not always focus perfect at certain zoom lengths and you may have to hunt a bit to find the focus but generally worked very well. I don't competely get how to do manual focus so i did not use that feature. At full zoom pics are soft, but well it was handheld and i'm amazed i actually got something usable. I used mostly P (with EV adjust), and Tv modes. Added a filter and hood (Essential Accessory Kit for Canon PowerShot SX530, SX520, SX70, SX60, SX50, SX40 HS) and the kit does fit this camera as well. Some people complain the filter adapter is hard to fit but i did not have issues, just make sure it's in the right position before you twist. One important thing: the battery is too small for the many electronic functions: this is a screen-oriented camera (no viewfinder). So my advice: make sure you have at least 2 (even 3 for a full day shooting).I had no issues seeing the screen but in some sunny conditions you may need some kind of box or sun-cover to be able to see well this is not particular to this specific camera, it's a problem that all screen-only ("non-viewfinder") cameras have. Same with using polarizing sunglasses, they may block the screen.5It just okNice camera and easy to use, just wish there was a view finder. Impossible to see what you are looking for trough the screen in daylight.3Great value, incredible zoomI've spent a lot on cameras over the years, and this is hands-down the best value ever! I'm a Canon fan to begin with, due to their wonderful low light capabilities, and with the optical zoom on this model- be still my heart! See the tiny little bump on the horizon of the ocean? I zoomed in on it, then had to zoom out some so you could see what it is. I got great photos of family (and other wild life) from so far away, they didn't even know to act weird that a camera was pointed at them.I do miss having a viewfinder, but being able to fully control the camera in every way from my phone app more than makes up for it.When I got home, I was excited to edit my pictures, but it turned out that most photos needed zero color corrections, which is absolutely astounding (and so time saving!).The viewfinder screen did get some significant scratches easily, so I'd suggest a gorilla glass type of protector. The camera is extremely light weight as well, which is perfect for travel and ease.Oh, and it captures the moment FAST. No lag at all (with a fast SD card).I also took hand held photos of the moon, zoomed in on a crater (you can see less than 1/4 of the moon due to the extreme zoom), and they came out perfectly clear and amazingly beautiful. There isn't anything not to love about this camera! Seriously amazing, specially for the price (around $250).5
