Customer Reviews

Versatile and a very good build. I m a photographer that travels extensively. This product allows m to charge multiple battery pack chargers and put power to my laptop while doing post work. Very versatile especially with several different male plugs for different countries. It is heavy enough gage to accommodate substandard electrical currents. Very useful and good build! 5Most Important Review I've DoneI've never been so motivated to review an item. Obviously I rated it 5 stars, but this comes with a bit of an informational for anyone using this product: I'm going to write once and for all about the do's and don'ts of this product as far as safety is concerned. They write that this product is 16 gauge. This is very light gauge for certain applications. I work commercial maintenance, and we will never use anything lighter than 12 gauge in our building because of fire safety. Now in your homes, 14 gauge is the norm and is fine for anything other than running a fridge on a super long 14 gauge extension chord, or something. But 16? Here's the deal-Use these cables for things like low voltage: phone chargers, tablet chargers, monitors, even lamps (especially led). I'm using mine on my UPS, one to run my raspberry pi's and low power adapters, and the other to run my monitors and charger. Do NOT use these for: high powered desktop pc's, microwaves, blenders, most appliances- anything with a high power draw.Basically these are fantastic for splitting several low power devices off one outlet, but should not be used for splitting several high draw appliances off one outlet. After all, best I can tell (there are no markings indicating so on mine) these are NOT UL listed. The reason this matters? Lower gauge wire will heat up much more when used to draw higher amounts of power. This can get to the point where they can ignite, causing a fire.TO BE CLEAR: This product never claims to be able to handle loads like appliances. I'm simply saying that this has a wonderful place in your home if you're smart about where and how you use it. I recommend, but be safe out there!5These are a godsend!I was extremely impressed with the quality of the design and materials that went into this product. I bought these because so many products use "transformer bricks" that take up between 2 and 4 sockets of a power strip. I have six external drives that I want to run; without this product, it would require THREE standard 6 outlet power strips. The two 4-way extensions allowed me to plug them all (and a powered USB hub) into a single power strip and have sockets left over for the computer and monitor. The wire being 16 AWG should be able to carry 10A total without any trouble, so these should be able to be safely daisy chained as long as the total power requirement does not exceed about 1000W (my "transformer bricks", like most, need far less than 100W each). If you are even slightly considering getting something like this, get this one - you won't be sorry.5Excellent SolutionIn my office I've got LOTS of devices that use an adapter with a 'big box plug'. A standard power strip might have 6-8 plugs on them, but room for 2-3 of these power adapters. This item lets me plug in all of my devices while only using up two spots on my power strip.5the best way to handle a bunch of different sizes and ...IMO, the best way to handle a bunch of different sizes and shapes of wall warts. Certainly couldn't find a more compact solution in the form of a power strip. I'm using this for all of my low-power compter devices (switch, cable modem, USB hub, and VoIP phone) into a single port in my UPS. These 4 devices use less power than any of my single other devices (2 desktop computers and a monitor), so it's perfect for it's job. Could be a little less heavy duty, as other reviewers have stated.5Makes Life a Lot Easier These are really great. I was so tired of unplugging one device so I could use another at a single outlet. Theses allowed me to plug multiple devices into the single outlet and then use which ever device I needed. Saved a lot of time and frustration. I wish I had these a couple years ago. would have made my life a lot easier. 5Don't waste your moneyDon't waste your money, I bought these a little over a month ago. I used them tonight for the first time, for some Christmas lights and 2 of the plug sockets in one of the sets has a short in it. The lights won't stay on if you touch that plug socket at all, and it's not the light set because I switched it to the next socket head and it works fine. So ya it's not worth the money if you only get 2 working sockets, and now I can't get a refund since it's past the 30 day mark. I'm just hoping it doesn't become a fire/safety hazard.1Great solution for wall wart clutter! No matter what kind of power strip you get, or what kind of extension cord, you know there's always that one power adapter that just can't fit without blocking another outlet? No problem no more! I love the way that I can plug in four of ANYTHING and none of them get in the way of anything else. Whether it is at home, or on a trip where I've got multiple devices or chargers to set up, I love it! 5High Quality! Just what I needed for these wal wart power supplies.High Quality! Just what I needed for these wal wart power supplies. I am using in bot the network closet and behind my UPS connected to my PC. Power strips were a waste because of the wal warts taking up so much room. My UPS had power strips connected and taking up under the desk floor space room and it was messy looking too! Also a nice "click" and secured holding connection. I wish I would have bought these sooner, like 10 years ago!!5Works Great to Connect External Hard Drives to a UPS BackupI'm using this Y-splitter power cord for my external hard drives that connect to my UPS. Prior to purchasing the Y-splitter. I used a power strip for the large wall warts/power bricks from the hard drives, but could only fit two cords. Now I have all my drives connected to the UPS via a single plug using this Y-splitter. The cord appears to be a well built, solid design; they use 16 AWG gauge conductors and it has a 13 amp/1625 Watt rating.Dimensions: The entire cable is 18.6 inches long. From the tip of the lead prongs to the base of the splitter, the lead cable is 8 inches long.LIFETIME WARRANTY from Cable Matters, too. It's a Massachusetts-based company that has been around since 2009.5Working great with my smart power strip and several Amazon Echo devices. Background:I bought an Amazon Echo Show (gen 2) and it included a free Philip Hue smart light bulb. This one light bulb started me down a long road to home automation using the Amazon Echo devices. Today, I now have 11 smart light bulbs (all Philip Hue, 2 smart plugs (Amazon and Kasa), and a smart power strip. The power strip (Kasa) not only allows every Echo device to control each plug on the strip, but it also keeps track of the power usage for each socket on the strip. You can see the current drain and hours the socket has been in use by something. The Kasa application provides you real time data, today total, 7 days, and 30 days.Presently, I'm using the strip to watch my Dell Precision T7500 workstation (socket 1), all my monitors (socket 2), and my accessories (e.g. external drives, video capture, usb hubs, etc). Originally, I was using sockets 2, 3, and 4 (of 6 sockets in total) for three of my monitors. The individual usage by the monitors didn't really justify taking up 3 sockets, as there are other devices (PS3, TiVo, networking (modem, router, switch, etc), etc) I should also be monitoring. How I'm using this Y splitterI wanted to combine all the monitors on to one single socket and thus track them together. This wonderful power cord Y splitter does a great job at allowing me to track my monitors and do it as a group (without taking up three sockets or using a three socket group).I can't really say much about this splitter other than it is doing its job without any issues. How can one expect more from their power cord splitter than for it to do its job successfully.5TOP PRODUCT TOP QUALITY ABSOLUTELY ROCK SOLID. PRO GRADE IF I EVER SAW IT. I USE THEM FOR THE INCREDIBLE LITTLE MOSQUITO REPELLERS AND I CAN AIM THRE OR FOUR AROUND THE DECK AND NOTHIN GETS THROUGH. THEY WOULD PROBALY MAKE A PRETTY GOOD SELF-DEFENSE CAT--O-FOUR POCKET WHI[P. 5Workaround for Wall Warts Hogging the Power StripThese quadruple receptacle cords allow us to use our small uninterruptible power supply to keep our wifi, phone and network equipment running without a two additional power strips. It seems that everything these days has a wall wart of a different size or orientation, which prevents full utilization of surge suppressors or UPS units. Purchased in a 2-pack in February 2019 for $15 including shipping, the value is unbeatable.I would not use these cords for appliances, portable heaters or heavy current-draw application. They are just right for low current devices such as LED lights, electronics with "wall wart" power supplies, and perhaps a couple of computers. The electrical prongs are not copper but rather a chrome (or silver colored metal) plated metal, but the receptacles appear to have copper contacts within. Plug and receptacle dimensions are very precise and solid. The molded outer case has strain relief rings cast into the unit. The plastic of these splitters is somewhat stiff. It would not be a surprise to see them split if flexed many times, especially in a very cold climate. In my case, the cords will hang or lay in place for a long time without movement, so they should be just fine.Excellent value for price paid, and very useful for our current wall-wart world. I'm happy that I ordered four of these to battle the rise of the wall warts. They will probably last until we no longer need wired power supplies.5I am not an electricianI should just start out right now by saying that I know nothing about electricity. I'm not saying that this is a bad review, but you shouldn't take anything that I am doing as something that should be done because for all I know I might be preparing my house to burn down.I am using these cord Splitters to plug into Wi-Fi plugs to control the lighting in my reptile terrariums and my aquariums. I take one Outlet, I plug this into it and I use the splitter for lights only.I have been using the Wi-Fi plugs for about 6 months. I only added the Splitters about a month-and-a-half ago and it seems to be going well. Nothing feels hot. Nothing smells weird. Nothing has blown a fuse yet.Everything I have is Alexa compatible and set to turn on automatically at a set time in the morning and turn off every night. The only time there has been an issue with this there was a problem with the internet connection following an outage in my immediate area.Everything seems rather safe and secure. But again... I am not an electrician.UPDATE: I tossed the Alexa smart switch things. They were completely unreliable. If Alexa can't connect.... neither can your switches and your lights get left off all day. No bueno when your tanks are relying on them for daytime heat.5
