Customer Reviews

I wish I bought these years ago!I ended up buying three. I was downsizing houses and was able to get rid of my CD storage tower! Couldn t part with some of my favorite CDs. Was able to fit about 150 CDs with booklets! Gave away another 50 CDs. I wouldn t put more than 48 CDs in each book because I wouldn t want the spine of the book to start splitting. I m also stacking these 3 on top of each other and they wouldn t stay together if I had more CDs stored in each one. Only con is that you can t change the title on the spine. I want to label them by genres so I don t have to go through each one to find what I m looking for. I went on the website but couldn t find anything about how to change the labels. Maybe I missed it? 5Beautiful way to store DVDs with high quality, no-slip inserts.I love these. I have an extensive DVD movie collection. I used these to condense the space needed to house the collection. The DVDs fit into the slots perfectly - there is no slippage or sliding. In some cases, I put 2 DVDs in one slot and it also holds perfectly. Please note, you would not be able to double up on both sides of the insert. The books are very attractive. I've read where some people felt tricked by the specialty inserts needed. I did not. First, the DVDs fit the slots perfectly - the inserts are a high quality design. Second, I read the reviews complaining that you had to purchase the inserts specifically designed for this book. So, I knew before I bought them that they required the specific inserts. I do not agree that it is overpriced. Sometimes you get what you pay for and I find this product is exactly that. It is a good price for the quality you receive. I bought 2 originally to try it out. I was so pleased, I bought 4 more (I have a lot of DVDs). The biggest difficulty I have with these is adjusting to picking out a movie to watch. I made an index for my movies but it just isn't the same as staring at jewel cases... Still, instead of a wall of jewel cases, I have 6 beautiful books on one shelf. 5Customizing Spine Label is ImpossibleThe binder is beautiful. I'm pretty sure it's genuine leather on the spine unless they managed to use a faux leather that smells like the real thing. Everything looks and works as intended...except for the spine where you place a label for the contents. The spine label frame is a metal, ornate square that appears to be attached to the body of the binder with little Phillips-head screws. Because of the shape on this spine, I was unable to slide the label it came with out or slide a label I made (using their template) in.So, I grabbed a small screwdriver and removed the screws to remove the plate, put in a label and screw it back on. Easy. But no. The screws are not actually attached to anything sturdy. I can't tell for certain, but I think they may have been glued in (which is fine!) for this application IF you didn't have to remove the plate to get a different label into it. The faux bind stitch bumps on the spine make it impossible to do that. The problem is that since the screws aren't functional in reality, they won't go back in securely once you've taken them out.SO...On the cognac binder, I literally cannot replace the label without removing the label frame (which then cannot be replaced) and so there's no point. It's ruined unless I can find some glue that will hold--which is another shopping trip or order to place, and I'm pretty miffed about it. For 24 dollars, I would have expected better than an oversight like this. 3Disappointing for my goalAlthough the Bellagio-Italia Leather CD/DVD Storage Binder would be excellent for some people, it does not provide the solution I want. I will return the binder. Pro: Attractive. The pseudo-leather looks as good as the real thing. Two openings per side of a sheet is a good form factor. The binder offers good disk accessibility. Con: The openings are not sized to allow retaining all paper matter in addition to the CDs.My goal is an accessible storage solution that takes less space than CD jewel cases. I want to retain the media and paper (cover art or booklet, back insert). I had hoped to put 48 CDs in a binder before adding pages. Putting any booklets in a separate opening decreases capacity and does not meet my goal. Also, back inserts are larger than the cover art; they do not fit. 3They look as good in person as they do in the photosProduct:They look as good in person as they do in the photos. I really like the proportions. I see many that attempt to place 8 discs to a sheet (4 front and back). Four to a sheet is much more manageable and a better design in my opinion. The books are soft leatherish material, and pleasing to the eye and touch. I ordered three. We had about 200 dvds. I kept some in the cases (Star Wars, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings). Almost all the others went into these binders. Much more efficient space wise, and actually easier to leaf through and pick/find a dvd.See photos. 5 starsService:They arrived within the week and appeared in good condition. Unfortunately, one of the binders had a rivet that pierced the book binder, but was not fastened to the metal three ring binder on the bottom area intended for attachment. See photos. I emailed the seller via Amazon, and within 24 hours they responded that they would send a replacement. Excellent customer service. 5Fake! NOT REAL SUEDE OR LEATHER FOR THE HIGH PRICE!This product is advertised as suede and leather.IT IS NOT SUEDE OR LEATHER. IT IS FAKE. As such it will not wear the same over time and definitely will not last as long as natural leather or suede would. It is extremely expensive for DVD/CD cases.Cut the price by a third and advertise honestly. Then I would give it more stars because they do look nice. 1Classy Disc StorageI bought one of the plainer black Bellagio-Italia binders and immediately filled it up, which necessitated the purchase of another binder. This binder (in the Cognac color) caught my eye and I wasn t disappointed when I got it. The leather on the spine has an attractive embossing along with the standard metal index holder. The front and back have a fleur-de-lis pattern on suede, which I can only imagine will get dirty without protection from dust. It looks infinitely better than any DVD or Blu-ray case, and really looks sharp on a bookshelf alongside the other binder. The disc storage method isn t that unique, and I don t intend on using the DVD cover art so that function doesn t hold my interest. Each of these binders are listed to hold 80 discs, but through a bit of my own experimentation, only hold 72 (that s 18 pages of discs). Yeah, you could put more, but it starts to bulge comically after 18!All in all, not a bad way to store one s discs, be they CDs, DVDs, or Blu-rays. I m definitely getting more of this series!I took off a star because the inside top corner wasn t glued all the way. 4Pretty and perfectThis is perfect for my needs. My only wish - the sheets have a slot to slide in a label of which disc is in the disc slot. No labels came with the set, so I'll have to improvise my own or find a place to buy them. But other than that minor, minor thing, I'm thrilled with this - it's sturdy, it holds quite a few discs, and it's great for what I wanted it for. 5Attractive, space-saving storage! It looks nice and comes with a set of envelopes/sleeves that I could load my DVDs into. I used the "full page" slots that let me insert both the cover art of each DVD plus the disc into its own slot. It was a plus to me to see the cover art as I browse movies to watch, because the pictures are a factor in triggering which movie I feel like watching. Now I have movies in a neat book that uses a LOT less space than the former 18" tray they were stored in before. I plan to buy more of these binders over time. 5Pretty, but holds less than expectedVery pretty, worked well for down-sizing my DVD collection footprint. However, I like to keep the jacket cover, as I like to look at the length of the movie, etc, so I folded them and put them in the pockets with the discs. Doing it this way, if you try to put more than 40 DVD s the binder will bulge and not sit on the shelf nicely. I had to buy more binders, but still glad I did. 4
