Worked perfectly for MacBook Pro mid-2012Our mid-2012 MacBook Pro (model A1278) was seriously slow. I ran some diagnostic clean up tests on it and then upgraded the original two 2MB RAM chips to 2 of these 4MB chips. It now runs perfectly and faster than before. I had read conflicting articles about whether the machine could handle 16MB (2x 8MB) so I just went with the 2x4MB. Plus I didn't want to put a lot of $$ into an old machine if it didn't work. Before ordering you should open your machine and check what type of chips are in there now. I called the A-Tech support line in advance and they were very helpful. Initially they told me I needed the low voltage chips (1.35) but I found that the current chips were not low voltage so these worked just fine. I took the old chips out and popped these new ones in and it immediately recognized them and booted up without any issues. If I have any issues down the road I will update the review.5Just a Kingston ram stick for less money!I had never heard of A-Tech before, but I was looking for another 4 GB stick for my work laptop to bring it up to 8 GB. I'd have several chrome tabs open and windows would resort to the page file with 4GB.After doing some research I found out that Kingston is the supplier for A-Tech, and the stick that came in my laptop was also Kingston. So, I ordered the stick that matched timings, clocks, and voltage with my current stick. When I booked up and loaded CPU z I was even surprised to find out the stick shows up as a Kingston stick. Now, I have two matching ram sticks running in dual channel and doubled my cpacity. This upgrade combined with the 1tb SSD has made my 2013 work laptop like new. I have had no issues whatever, and passes memtestx86 with flying colors.5If you are having issues with your computer not booting after memory upgrade, please read this....I have a Lenovo Ideapad G575 that was configured with 4GB ram installed. With Windows 10, I wanted a more responsive computer, and so I ordered and added the 8GB Kit. I have plenty of experience upgrading computers and memory but this was the first computer where by replacing both original memory modules with these new ones, the computer wouldn't boot. Individually, they worked fine. I ended up having to remove both the battery and power cord and press the power button for about 1-minute. Afterwards, after reinstalling battery and power cord, the computer booted up with both 4GB memory modules and all is well. Windows 10 now is more responsive and reports 8GB system memory.with 7.60GB usable.I have purchased memory modules from A-Tech in the past with no issues.5Worked Well in HP Laptop, Easy To InstallSeveral of the reviewers were more than little bit unhappy with this RAM. It's very frustrating when a new piece of hardware, which is necessary to the machine, doesn't work. But most of the reviews were positive and seemed legitimate, and Fakespot agreed, giving the product a B and the company an A.In the end, this RAM was the best deal for the money. It was by no means cheap, but cheap enough. And it worked out just fine in an HP EliteBook. It was very easy to install and Windows picked it up right away. No issues. The laptop was a bit slow, so this stick doubled the RAM and with an SSD replacing the original HDD, it speeded it up well.I'm quite happy with it so far, but it's only been a month so longevity can't be determined. If it craps out the review will be updated.4May work in other laptops but not a Dell Latitude E4310 check your specsI gave it 4 stars due to the fact that I am sure the memory will work in other laptops just not mine. I have a Dell Latitude E4310. This laptop has a M530 i5 Intel Processor This seems to follow another persons opinion/review in that this memory will not work in 1st or 2nd generation Intel processors. I put in 1-4GB stick since I only ordered 1 and the machine blue screened and then got locked into a cycle of rebooting. From the crucial.com site, it recommended this spec of memory. What is not clear from crucial.com is the voltage that is noted in their spec. This A-Tech memory has a 1.35v marking. I happened to have (2) 4GB laptop sticks from Corsair , item CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9 These are working .. they are the same speed (12800) that these A-Tech's are. The Corsair sticks are 1.5v That may be the clue.. This laptop may not be able to use the lower voltage.4BEWARE: PC2-6400 RAM in the package.BEWARE: These were labeled on the external packaging as 8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 but what was in the package was 2GB PC2-6400. I bought 3 sets of this memory and they were all three the wrong RAM with the wrong label. Now I have a very annoyed client expecting his 3 new builds to be done today, thanks A-TECH. Today you earned the name F-TECH.1Great upgrade for my early 2011 Mac Book Pro.Working great in my early 2011 Mac Book Pro. I can tell a difference when I have multiple programs open or 20 tabs open in my web browser. I'm glad I upgraded from what came in my Macbook. It was super easy to install. I followed the directions that apple supplies in the About this Mac, under the memory tab- Bottom button that says "Memory Upgrade Instructions".5Behold! Costs much less than a new MacBook!I used this to update a struggling late 2011 MacBook Pro, with great success! Before: the MacBook struggled to open basic websites and other common tasks. After: the MacBook is very happy, snappy and no longer crappy! The RAM fit perfectly, started perfectly, was recognized correctly and has had no issues.Pro Tip: I used PC3L-12800, this is the number that matters for your machine when dealing with MacBooks. For those worried about the clock speed on the RAM being higher than the mac designation: clock speed is based on voltage and the mac is smart enough to draw only what it is designed for, so installing a 1600mhz chip in a 1333mhz slot has no impact, the computer will still run at 1333mhz. (This does not work in reverse! ie; you cannot put a 1333mhz chip into a machine that requires 1600mhz)(FWIW I also upgraded the HDD to SSD, between those two things, night and day difference).5Didn't work on a HP All-In-OneI bought this to add more RAM to a friend's HP 19-2113W All In One. It wouldn't work. The computer came on everything was running but the screen was solid black. Took the RAM out, pc worked. switched around and it still wouldn't work with it in there. I bought what was supposed to fit but am returning it for a refund. I thought the stick was bad, but I have since found out that this particular computer is really screwy with memory sticks, and many people have have a lot of problems trying to upgrade this, and have the same problems with most every brand of stick except for Crucial brand. I have also noticed that the memory already installed is a low voltage memory stick and I was told this one would work..It won't, so may try the exact same stick that came with it that is low voltage. HP never said a thing about it on their site or manuals. I'm hoping this will work. I put this same brand of RAM in another person's computer and it worked great so was rather amazed this didn't.3Seems to function good, & did raise performance.Shipped on time, in nice secure packaging, worked upon install. The one thing it did raise is my Windows performance "calculations per second" score to about 7.1 (about spot on but don't remember if it was this or 7.0 exactly) & this nearly the max value it can have. The other scores however did not raise vastly except I think the graphics one went up to 5 where before it was 1 (this very important as graphics is a demanding ball buster). Memory tester showed ram ok with no errors. I did see some performance increases, but it was not as dramatic as I thought it would be. One aspect that did change much for the better was stability with a bunch of programs open as this always causes an issue if I get carried away with trying "to do too much". Would recommend buying if at this price. I believe the ram is a big name manufacturer as that is what showed up in a system information program. ONE WARNING CAVEAT THAT MAY SAVE YOU LIFE WHEN BUYING RAM: DO NOT...I REPEAT...DO NOT TAKE A "HARDWARE INFORMATION" PROGRAM'S WORD FOR IT THAT YOUR MACHINE MAY TAKE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF RAM AS THE PROGRAM IS READING WHAT THE MANUFACTURER PUT ON A CHIP, MAYBE BECAUSE THEY WERE GOING TO EXPAND THIS LATER ON OR SOMETHING, BUT WHATEVER AS I BOUGHT ONE THAT WAS TWICE OF WHAT I NEEDED BECAUSE OF THIS & IT DID NOT FUNCTION AS IT WAS DOUBLE WHAT THE MACHINE WAS ABLE TO DO. SO I RECOMMEND TO STUDY THIS ISSUE VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING AS IT WILL SAVE YOU A BUNCH OF HEADACHES. MAYBE EVEN GET 1 USED RAM CHIP FROM SOMEONE THAT THE HARDWARE TESTING PROGRAM SAYS WILL GO IN & TRY THAT IN ONE SLOT (THIS SHOULD WORK AS ONLY NEED ONE RAM CHIP FOR PC TO FUNCTION) AS THAT WILL IMMEDIATELY TELL YOU THE STORY - IF IT WORKS THEN THAT AMOUNT IS OK, IF NOT THEN ITS NOT OK (MOST LIKELY, BUT GUESS WHAT NOT ALL RAM WORKS EVEN IF IT IS THE RIGHT SIZE AS MANUFACTURER DIFFERENCES CAN BE A FACTOR!). NO I DON'T LOVE PEOPLE SO MUCH TO BE HANDING OUT ADVICE BECAUSE I LOVE THEM, BUT BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE THAT DO A GREAT JOB OF PROVIDING THINGS WHEN I NEED IT. THIS WHOLE PROJECT WAS A TOTAL HELL OF HOURS OF RESEARCH & SIFTING THROUGH ADVICE WITH THE ONLY TELL BEING ACTUALLY BUYING IT & HAVING TO PAINFULLY RETURN THE ITEM. THE MANUFACTURERS STAT SHEET WAS VERY IFFY FOR MY PROCESSOR AS IT SUGGESTED IT MAY BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE EXTRA RAM WHEN IT COULD NOT SO CAVEAT EMPTOR. I WISH YOU LUCK & YOU WILL HAVE IT ONLY IF YOU HEED MY ADVICE OTHER WISE IT IS "TROUBLE CITY FOR YOU"!5
