Great Upgrade For Mid/Late-2007 MacBook Pro!I have a very rare pre-production prototype (red motherboard) Mid/Late-2007 MacBook Pro 2.6GHz 15" laptop. It came with no CD drive, RAM, battery, or HDD. After sourcing NOS parts for the CD drive and battery, I purchased an SSD and this 4GB RAM kit. With the SSD and 4GB of RAM, this machine performs like some new base-model Macs! I initially had a 2GB kit from another Mac of that era, but after installing the SSD, it was quite apparent that the 2GB of RAM was filled up with just Safari running. With this 4GB kit, everything on this machine works great again, and I now proudly display my restored prototype 15" MBP! 5Would recommend this to those who don't want to upgrade yet ...My Mid 2010 Macbook Pro with 4GBs of RAM was in dire need of some more juice. You just need a small (#00) philips screwdriver, anti static solution, and 10 minutes of your time to get these chips in. Saw a huge change in speed already. Would recommend this to those who don't want to upgrade yet to the newer macbooks! These seniors still have a lot in the tank with minor upgrades like this =)! 5Beware DOA and RAM ERRORI bought 2 of sets of 16Gb, one eventually worked and the second one still showing errors. I installed the first set on 3 MACs (mac mini, macbook pro and Imac) on all of them it came back with RAM error (3 beeps). Then I installed on a HP notebook and it worked, put it there for a day and for some reason when I installed back on the macs they worked (go figure). I finally received the 2nd set (they were ordered within 24hrs of each other) but this one doesn't work on either mac nor HP notebook. Horrible quality control, I have not Idea how they have 550+ 5stars reviews.I have bought previously 2 set of crucial 16GB and they never gave the problems but these ones are totally unreliable. 1Great product! I have a macbook pro A1278 mid ...Great product! I have a macbook pro A1278 mid 2012. It came with 4GB of RAM which is not enough to run El Capitan. I got 2x8GB chips, which i installed myself. It was simple, and was done within 10 minutes. Now my baby is running on lightning speed on 16 GB of RAM! I would certainly recommend this product for anyone who is frustrated with the speed of their macbook pro. 5No!!!I bought this ram because it is cheaper than Crucial. After one week of using my MacBook pro early 2011 the apps were crashing and the laptop continuously rebooted. I thought that was a software problem. I uninstalled all the apps that I had installed and I kept only Apple apps that came with OS-X. I had the same problem. I installed back the old ram and everything was fixed. I wasted my time!!! I do not worry about the money because I created a return ticket, but I really wanted this MacBook done before Christmas. I guess this is a good lesson not to buy things because they are cheaper.... 1Worked wonder in helping resurrect an aging A1342 MacBookI received a dead A1342 - Had to replace the bloated battery, trackpad and cooling fan. Once the thing was back up and running I was, with some fighting, able to get High Sierra to load. But oh my, with only 2GB RAM it was SLLOOOOOWWW. Painfully slow. I couldn't deal with it, a Core 2 Duo may not be a formula 1 car in todays standards, but its not a pinto yet! Anyways, I've used A-Tech RAM on several PC builds/Updates/Repairs so I figured I give it a shot. I ordered 2 of these to bring the MacBook up to 4GB RAM (Supposedly the A1342 CAN go to 8, but I have no need for that much). These made a world of difference. Now the machine is moving along at an acceptable speed.Go for these if you need an INEXPENSIVE (not CHEAP) way to squeak some extra performance out of your aging MacBook. 5It works fine and super easy to installThe machine is a mid 2009 MacBook Pro. Earlier I replaced 4Gb (2x2Gb) with 8Gb (2x4Gb) from another manufacture from Amazon. Failure. I returned it to Amazon for a refund and bought this 8Gb set. It works perfectly. The machine is now far more responsive. It's a great way to update an old machine so tha that it works more like a modern machine. The motivation for the memory increase:Apple no longer supports this old of a machine with software updates. This means one cannot update any new apps or update old one. A big problem! But with some research, one can install the latest operating system. But it's more of a memory hog than the older operating systems. At that point it became absolutely necessary to increase memory. With the ne operating system and the first increase of memory, it is like a brand new machine (well close anyway). It sure beats buying a new machine.Ease of installation:You need something like a jewelry set of screwdrivers to take off about 10 screws off the bottom metal base. The screws are very small so be sure to put them in a container so they don't roll off the table never to be seen again. Upon removing the bottom base cover, the memory is right in front of you. Just push the side holding restraints sideways and the memory card pops out. Simply replace the cards, and screw on the bottom plate. 5-10 minutes and the job is complete. 5Disappointed "in self" Geek!!!!Memory sticks worked as designed. Unfortunately I messed up and bought the wrong pack. I ordered an 8g kit that included 2 4g sticks thinking I got 2 8g sticks. Error was mine. Be sure to cross check what you're ordering to avoid my pitfalls. 5Not working w/ iMac 11,2 Intel i3 OS 10.13.6*UPDATED*2 x 8GB is not compatible with the iMac listed in this post.4 x 4GB is compatible with the iMac listed in this post.2 x (2 x 4GB) is compatible with the iMac listed in this post.[MAX load is either 2GB/slot OR 4GB/slot]*UPDATED*I have the following iMac (see specs below) and this A-TECH RAM product will only function for 150-180 seconds before an infinite Shutdown & Restart loop occurs.I purchased the advertised RAM because the model number and specs listed in the Features & Details had identified my iMac, however the compatibility is untrue in my circumstance. *see UPDATE*A refund and return was offered and I accepted. I have been having intermittent issues with my mid 2012 macbook pro for 12 months now, to find that the memory I purchase 18 months ago has failed. The problems started off small, with the mac crashing maybe once a week. As I had upgraded to High Sierra, I assumed it was teething problems with the new IOS. The crashing problem and freezing became more problematic over time and I tried everything from uninstalling apps to downgrading the IOS. Nothing seemed to work. I have recently found that the 16gig A-Tech memory modules have failed are were the cause to the system crashing all along. My product is out of warranty now, so I don't see myself getting any kind of refund or replacement. My recommendation if you are looking to up-grade is to go to a better brand like Crucial memory. Don't waste your time or money with this product. 1
